Love your whole travel outfit, but your CSGM is LOVEly 🤩 Safe travelsAnd here I go! Wearing my new navy travel set from Frank & Eileen and a CSGM Cavaliers en Formes scarfsourced for me all the way from Australia in a fun midnight zoom live shopping trip. It looks better today than with my pjs at the moment of buying... The things we do for our H passions...

Vegas has many long term on going high spending clients. A RTW piece is a good start but probably won't cut it for a quota bag offer. They really want to see repeat visits and multiple items purchased. I think the text was a somewhat shameless attempt to lure you back into the store that next day to buy another expensive RTW piece and would not get my hopes up yet but would continue to purchase from this SA/store to build a history and relationship. I believe Vegas prespends are avg 2-3:1 and at least a four month relationship for a size 25 bag these days to give you reasonable expectations.Anyone have any experience buying RTW in Las Vegas? I bought a leather jacket & asked if any bags were available. SA offered a mini Lindy. It’s not my style so I declined. I did receive a text the following day asking for my wishlist. (New SA/relationship) should I get my hopes up?
I thought exactly the same, Katharina. These classics are so very classy on you, Croisette7.I always thought these d‘Origny designs to be a bit too „classic“ for me. But now I see your collection in these brilliant bright colors, I rethink my decision! Gorgeous dear @Croisette7! 😍
Ah, I hoped that you would show this, Redbird. My favourite design by him, funny, whimsical but also a bit eerie - a very fetching mix in my eyes.
Love F&E, their sets are fantastic! The scarf looks lovely paired with it!And here I go! Wonderful scarf examples and stories. I love Maison but just recently sold mine (the hot pink one). Almost feeling regret. There are quite a number of Hermes scarves which reference other scarves or H creations. Sometimes, the scarf features a motif which comes from another scarf or has an embroidered patch or patches cut from another scarf.
In 2013, there was a limited edition H x Comme des Garcons collaboration. H issued a set of scarves with Rei Kawakubo's distinctive touch added. One of these scarves was a ginormous Patch Geant with 7 scarves stitched together to form a huge square. One of the 7 scarves was Henri d'Origny's Cavalcadour. That's the swirly patterned scarf in the lower left patch made from 4 gavs. At 1.8m square, it is huuuuuge! An impulse buy that I spotted on the instant sale page of a Hongkong auction house. I'm not sure how to use it due to the size. The picture below is the H stock image because it's just too large to take a good flat photo. Perhaps later this week, I'll try to drape myself in it

At 90cm square, Cavalcadour Clair de Lune is much more manageable. It comes with a fantastical back story of the special technique which H claims was used in the production. There is a thread dedicated to it.
View attachment 6219334I Fell in love with this scarf through variety of posts on Scarf of the Day, and also followed the slow slog of discovery on threads on Fall Winter Scarves 2012 and Exceptional Scarves. Decided it would be much easier to collect information in one spot for the brave few who have collected and wear this “whisper of a cloud,” or who are just curious about the production of “mud silk” for this scarf and a variety of kimonos, etc.
I hope those who have posted their delightful photos elsewhere will share new ones here, as well as tying tips as this gauzy confection appears to defy gravity...

The cw is very dark so you can only see the Cavalcadour design if you angle it against the light. Why did I buy it? I guess I like the fantastical tale of how mud silk is created (although I totally researched the prosaic reality too) as well as the "now you see it, now you don't" lenticular image. And, uhm, it reminds me of really yummy dark chocolate

One of my weaknesses is "unusual scarves" (see above). Another weakness of mine is indecision. Pierre Marie's Maison des Carres was a love at first sight design. It reminded me of dollhouses. I eyed and eyed the hot pink cw that was in the window of my home H, but there were other cws which I liked too. So I hesitated and deliberated and pondered ... all the way till it was no longer in stock
I bought the gav in the end, and I think I'm quite content with it.
Worn here with Bolduc. There are teeny scarves in many of the rooms, on the roof, outdoors ... and look! In this next picture, the artist seated with a scarf in the lower right corner is working on a swirly design that just might be a d'Origny!
