Love the boat! And so glad you have the white Bord a Bord.A big welcome to @xincinsin as she takes control of the tiller this week...I also am a member of the crew aboard the newest cotton scarf. Sharing the white Bord à Bord (my favorite despite the perils) styled very simply: a cotton scarf on a cotton shirtdress. I took my regular selfie window mod shot and then thought I should at least try to get some ocean in the background.

And Elias Kafouros is not the only one coming up with witty names for boats! I saw this one on my Sunday perambulations and had to take a photo! Every summer I reread the novel that is subject of the pun so it was a "when worlds collide" moment for me. Alas I was not wearing the scarf at the time, though I am tempted to go back and take a scarf on site photo with the book in my hand, too...

Congratulations LeneCPH! So chic on pink and worn as a top!❤️Hi all you beautiful people of Scarflandia, hope you are having a great summer!
I've been MIA for a while (life, and trying to avoid the temptation, from all the eye-candy shared here). But, I simply had to share this long-coveted grail-mail I just received, as I knew (only) you would get my exitement!
Parures de Samouraïs in Marine/Rose/Bleu Glacier, NWT and only slightly above retail. Very quick try-on, as it's way to hot for scarves here today, but it is simply the most beautiful scarf I have ever seen, and I am soo happy to finally have this!

Flights of fantasy - take a short romp through any culture's mythology and you will find winged beasts of all types: tigers, lions, serpents, horses - all have had wings added, feathered or leathery.
Mankind is fascinated by flight. The gav Reves et Raisons takes inspiration from the tale of Icarus who donned artificial wings and flew too close to the sun. Worn here with a Mineraux gav. You can see Icarus' wing stretched across the triangle displayed, a reminder both of his father's genius and his own recklessness.

My 2nd last scarf acquisition, just before Bord a Bord, was made because of the illusion of wings. Yes, the illusion
Dallet's Mustangs has been reinterpreted a few times. In the original, the horses ran wild and free across the 90cm square.

The latest incarnation was a modern interpretation using a very traditional technique. In the Marble version, the colours stream across the horses creating a vivid sense of motion. To my bedazzled eyes, some of those horses appear as if they are sprouting wings and about to take flight.

Good morning, Scarfies and happy Monday! Our theme, I noticed, is titled "Flights of Fancy" and you can't get much more fanciful, fantastic or mythic than a winged horse! Here for a summer day in and out of a/c is my 140 Le Pégase d'Hermès Chemise. The web site says "Similar to a blouse, this silk wash scarf with fine pastel stripes is soft to touch and perfect for summer." Perhaps I will try this a top on a different occasion. Meanwhile, I just adore this design, and I love pairing linen and summer silk!

Darling d’Orphee paired perfectly with your top, @Jereni. Love those colors on you!Wanted to wear this darling d’Orphee today which does not get nearly enough wear. Although I only managed to keep it on my neck for about as long as it took to snap this pic, due to the heat.
Reasonably on theme with all its adorable avian characters.

Thank you to @Karenska for stepping in to start the theme when RL overtook me
The screech from the aviary is deafening, but I'm going to start the week with a cotton scarf first. I adore H cotton. Vintage H cotton scarves are amazing and no matter how tightly you tie them, the wrinkles will vanish overnight.
My most recent purchase is Bord a Bord. A cotton scarf which I could not resist because the cws are so pretty and it is in an unusual size - 80cm. I vacillated between the blue and pink, but finally bought the pink - a warm-toned rose dragee. If you are not intimidated by the juxtaposition of scarves with food, the crisp white cw is simply lovely.
The pink colour doesn't come out true in the flat photo (cold fluorescent light unfortunately). And it's all wrinkled from being worn with a small Eperons scarf ring, so I'm waiting to see if the creases will vanish by the morning

It was only after I'd paid and happily reached home that I found more to love about this design. The names of the boats are jokes about H and some common themes in their designs
The obligatory "Hermes Paris" bobs on the waves in the company of Captain Orange, Hippocampus, Atlantiko and a boat tied up at berth 24!
View attachment 6195483
And to mollify the jungle chickens, here are the two cotton Phoenix pareos which took me quite some years to track down. The one in black/white is a full size pareo while the colourful version is a smaller rectangle.

Tapis Persans and De tout cœur mousselines. It’s hot so no real scar wearing, just playing. The older mousseline is much sturdier and has a different hand (Tapis is the younger one).

Oh, thank you so much @Maedi. Here in New England not only the boats but many of the homes also have names and people can be quite witty! I do love to reread a favorite classic in the summer to counteract the "beach reads"The red accents in this scarf gem are the perfect red. What a beautiful ensemble out in the sunshine.
