Scarves Scarf of The Day 2025 - Which Hermès scarf are you wearing today?

I'm wearing two scarves today, as our weather is staying at bit on the cool side. The 90 I've had for a while, but the twilly was an impulse purchase during my one and only trip to Madison this February.

La Femme aux Semelles de Vent is my scarf of the day. Along with it I'm pleased to introduce my A Vos Crayons et Carre Libre twilly.

Twins on the Semmelles @Redbirdhermes, and brilliant two-scarf matching with the turquoise twilly!

@SilkCashmereCotton That IS a cheerful pink and your monotone color choices really allow the scarf to take center stage, while toning down the whole look. Beautiful, especially with your jewelry choices.

And how wonderful to see your Un Carre sur l’Herbe with that compelling green border and contrasting white hem! Gorgeous. And what’s not to love about banana earrings? So fun!

@LKBNOLA Your styling is always so chic and this post is just another masterclass on pattern mixing. The idea of putting space between patterns by wearing a solid top and leaving the matching between scarf and pants or skirts is such a great pointer. I think @Croisette7 does this too, and of course so we have seen with @darkstar66. I am realizing most all of my pants are solid in color, but I do have some patterned skirts to try it with!

@Maedi thank you for sharing this collage of your scarves for your “work” project. How very productive! I nominate you for a raise and more time off!:giggle:

I’m with those who say the Brazil detail scarf needs a pardon from the chopping block and a chance to renter society as a productive member of Scarflandia. The colors are so rich.

@Croisette7. Perfection. Just perfect. The contrasting colors, the simplicity, and of course, the CSGM. As they say, “Never let them see you sweat, and never let them see you shiver.” 😆

@SilkCashmereCotton Love your delicious description of your gorgeous colorway of Triomphe! I can certainly see in the photo how the chocolate leans into burgundy. So happy to be sisters with you on this compelling design with the horse expressions!:hugs:

@darkstar66 Absolutely compelling, these combinations! We are triplets on the pink Tyger Royale with @LKBNOLA. ❤️

@LKBNOLA Lovely! I’m so glad you finally got your navy Mystères and your green Le Philateliste is gorgeous. I really like green and blue together as a combination. Here in Seattle people might stop and ask you if there’s a Seattle Seahawks football game today. 🧐😄

@SilkCashmereCotton I’m going to guess that boat is shooting flares. The swells seem pretty large and the vessel may be in trouble. Adding to it that most vessels would not be shooting fireworks. Fire onboard a vessel is one of the worst misfortunes possible, and one would not be firing off fireworks in those seas, if ever. In the Seattle area and in the Islands, however, local Independence Day fireworks displays are often done from floating barges in calm lakes or protected bays. Those are my two cents, anyway. Feel free to ask any other PNW questions! 😊
Fantastic scarf btw. It’s the first time I’ve seen this design.
Thank you so much for the support of avoidance and call for a raise 🤣🫶.

Good day, dear Scarf Friends, I have been necessarily MIA and you have been busily showing off beautifully coordinated and stylish outfits. I need to catch up, which I plan to do tonight, but I will leave you with a big thank you for all of your wonderful, inspiring contributions this week and a few more thoughts about contrasting and complementing color.
Sometimes the jewelry, in this case a vintage Zuni needlepoint brooch, feeds off the look of the scarf. I really like this look. Baobab Cat gav.

Similarly here, cornflower blue accents support the bold red sweater and bright blue of the scarf (which also has deep red accents). Quand Soudain 70

This blue/purple freshwater pearl and garnet necklace coordinates with the blues, forest green and deep purples of Equateur.

Neutrals on neutral. Ok, there is a pop of color with the red, but overall, the effect is complementary rather than seriously contrasting. Hermes Factory, a beautiful find on which I took a chance and I adore it.

Greys, soft cream with a bit of harvest yellow. Les Ailes de Pegase.

Grey on soft black and cream. Paris Station.

Good morning!!

Sotd is correspondence. Tied to stand the weather forecast saying bright hot sun mixed with pouring rain  - just perfect for the garden party I am attending straight from work…
View attachment 6193479 Wish you all a wonderful weekend!!
Simply beautiful correspondence and in this lovely tie, @HermesEchidna! Reminds me of a stained glass window. I hope your garden party was timed for sunshine and you found a spot of shade to enjoy it in.

Scarfmail but hmm.

Team, I’d been looking for this one for a long time so pounced on it the other day. And it is high contrast so - on theme!

But, I am not sure and that is probably enough of an indication. It’s lovely and I adore the graphics but I don’t know if it does much for me. Thoughts?

Petit Duc in white, black, gray, and pink.

I can only echo @darkstar66 and @Maedi's sentiments on your new in, @Jereni. It seems like a different vibe for you, but, if it's called to you for a long time, then I think you're meant to explore this new territory. Perhaps you could try pairing with white to 'be the background' and therefore allow the gray, pink, and black to take more of the stage.

I love, love, love admiring all of your beautiful bracelet stacks!

Thank you to @Karenska for hosting this week where we have to figure out how to complement and contrast our outfits. I'm ending the week with the same complementary colors that I began this week, however in reverse. Instead of a blue top and a yellow-orange scarf, today I’m wearing a teal scarf with an orange top.

Petite Venerie in teal is my scarf of the day.

Such a satisfying contrast here,@Redbirdhermes, and what a beautiful carved (carnelian?) pendant.

Hello and sorry, but I'm not yet done with "animalier". Today with Tigre Royal, paired with wildlife. The first, the orange/rose with a leopard top (you can see its face on the print) and with a black and white cotton cardigan.View attachment 6193661

View attachment 6193665

Please continue to spam us with your animalier pairings, dear @darkstar66. They are giving me life! And your ties with your Tigre Royals are so inspiring; they have me looking at this design anew, after fearing it would be too difficult to tie. 😻

Thank you for the compliments and I am so sorry to hear about the jewelry theft-- that is awful. I cannot imagine the loss. It is not the value of the pieces but the sentiment and family history and connection... so sorry.
You definitely need a Marwari!!! I adore that design. Here's my newest: a bright blue one!

Yes, that's just it on family history and connection. I especially grieve the large 'real' ruby ring that was always on my grandmother's right hand. An early memory I have is sitting cuddled on her lap as she read to me and toying with it, and her saying 'one day this will be yours'. It was emerald cut and set with flowers worked all around it, and was so very gorgeous. The ruby was the perfect shade of juicy red, like a watermelon jolly rancher. After looking for it, or one like it, for ages, I had an ah-ha moment and tried a search for the setting style rather than the gem. To my delight, I found many very similar. I suspect grandma may have fibbed a little bit on the ruby being real, as these synthetic rubies were very popular at the time this style of rings were made. I told DH of my discovery and showed him my favorite example. Though it wasn't a perfect match, he immediately bought it for me and now I have a 'new' heirloom with a family story to pass down.

IMG_6900.webp

Fantastic colorway on your newest Marwari, in fact, that's the first one I was eyeing when I went off to research this design. The only Marwari horse I've ever met was the color of the ones on this colorway. Those curved ears are so distinctive and expressive. It looks amazing on you!

Thank you also for this beautiful quote. I need to find one for our bookcase...And you made me laugh to recall the Leonard Cohen lyric @SilkCashmereCotton -- I am a huge fan of his as a songwriter and poet but better to liken the scarf to a "bird on a wire" than the the next line "Like a drunk in a midnight choir..."

I have tried, in my way, to be freeeee.... Gosh he was an outstanding songwriter and entertainer. I only had the privilege of attending a concert of his once, but it's something that I'll never forget. The self deprecation and gentle humor he showed, the graciousness and his generosity in the amount of encores he gave us! And of course, that gift of a golden voice. Goosbumps, still.

Happy Friday all! Inspired by @Karenska to go with a favorite combination today: navy and green and/or green and navy-- I love it any which way!

And a new cw of Mystère au 24. I tried this navy one when it was released but turned my eyes away because I was in the Blue Cell Block on Ban Island that season. But every single time I was in the store, I would ask my SA-- oh may I see that one? Or which is that one? And so on. Finally, after one last tempting mod shot by our lovely @EtsyBoss, I gave in... very happy to add this one to my beloved mastic cw. This design is so fun and has so many great elements from architectural to whimsical... I showed the phone off the hook for old time's sake. I remember rotary phones with handsets and actual coiled lines!
View attachment 6193699
Such a satisfying color combo. That new Mystère absolutely glows against the green of your sweater. Glad you were able to escape the Blue Cell Block of Ban Island to share with us this pretty addition.

Another one of my contrast squares, Dans l'Altelier de Robert Dallet. It even contrasts with itself! I love the good outdoor light here and I thought I'd share some of the early hydrangeas, because, why not?

Thank you to @Karenska for a beautiful week of coordinate and contrast and two scarf wearing! I love the ideas, styling suggestions and examples from your own scarf closet. I am sure I am not alone in appreciating your hosting while stressed at home and I hope that things ease up for you soon so you can just loll around with us in Summer Scarflandia...:flowers:🙏🧡 ☀️ And thank you everyone for your marvelous photos and stylings this week. I bookmarked quite a few mod shots!

I know that our Poet-in-Residence @Cookiefiend has written an Ode to Brown, but honestly for me it was a color more often featured in outerwear, accessories or perhaps merged into a plaid. This summer I bought a linen dress with eyelet sleeves and details in...brown. Of course I need another linen dress about as much as I *need* another scarf, but it was just so compelling and sophisticated to me (plus it has pockets). Turns out it pairs wonderfully with a few (actually quite a few) scarves! I wore it yesterday evening in combination with mauve, but I have also worn it with pink; shown both ways below.

Going to try ad share a quick pic between the pop-ups that are covering the reply box. Please excuse any typos.

Haven’t had a moment to share trip pics since we returned, but here’s a couple that I think are on theme. I’ve had this one in the vault for a while, and it made it out in time for a ‘scarf on site’ in Paris!

Boite au Vol pointu. I can’t find much info on this, except it was a Bali Barret design in 2005, came in limited colourways, and features a hand holding an Hermès scarf box in front of the Eiffel Tower (shown from below, forming the black and white design). Just managed to catch the nightly light show at the tower in the background!

IMG_5143.webp

Not an ideal top for it, but it’s what I was wearing at the time and checks the box for our contrast theme.

And another new-to-me that joined me on the trip, Collier de Chiens. The earlier (2013?) edition, without the dog medallions in the border. In contrasting, and complimentary, turquoise and red.
IMG_2896.webp
I cropped out my large glass of red wine in the corner, which coordinated quite well! 😂

It took me forever to find that cw and I wear it every year to a Holiday tea at the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans (among other things!). But it has to be love with our scarves, for sure. And speaking of love, are those your wedding flowers? How very very beautiful!

Hello,
The marinière look is for me the most relaxed there can be. I paired this top with Tous les Bateaux du Monde and am so glad I bought it some months ago, I hesitated for a very long time. Today I wear a skirt exceptionnally, it's just so very hot and by Wednesday, this will be building into a heat dome apparently.View attachment 6194280View attachment 6194281
Oh, this is so great @darkstar66! You did the tank top wrap with tails tied on the sides-- what a great variation-- I shall have to try that! I am your blue CSGM sister on this and it is just a perfect summer look. I am partial to skirts on hot days too...

Thank you @CedarWaxWing -- I am always learning from the best here. Love these "styling" weeks especially for the great ideas... and that is hilarious. I have a number of black and gold cws of scarves for Saints games in NOLA-- maybe we need a theme week called "Team Colors"?
Today I join @darkstar66 with a leopard top, paired here with La Legende de La Foret.

View attachment 6193839

I always think of this as my 'red' scarf. First glance says that's right..

View attachment 6193842

However, tying it today reminds me that is not entirely accurate, when there are so many other little pops of color worked into the design.

View attachment 6193840

And how could I overlook that delightful orange hem?

View attachment 6193841

I reckon that's the magic of Hermès. 🧙‍♂️🍊

I'm so thankful for this week's theme, which has encouraged me to look at this scarf in a new way.

On to other news, I wanted to share with you all another recently addition to my silken stockpile that I'm super excited to have. This is Feux De Route Aperçus La Nuit En Mer (navigation lights seen at night at sea). I'm not certain if I have any sisters or twins here, as I can't remember seeing it before, but I'm still fairly new to the forum.
View attachment 6193847

I think I mentioned it before, but we're still somewhat newly settled in the Pacific Northwest, just north of Seattle. I originally come from the Appalachian mountains -- Asheville, NC for those familiar with it -- and, so, the idea of living close to the ocean is fairly novel to me. During Deep Dive week here, it occurred to me that I ought to add some nautical scarves to celebrate my new home region.

In one of my recent falls down a scarfie rabbit hole (there have been, umm, shall we say, several since joining this forum), I stumbled upon a photo of this scarf and it sang to me. The one in question was in poor shape, but then I found this particular one on ebay for a very reasonable price, and in pristine condition. So, what's a scarf lover to do, but quickly zoom through checkout with the prize in question?

I love, love, love it. But could someone please tell me about that ship that's second up from the bottom on the right, is it spouting water? Flares or fireworks? Help a landlubber out? Thank you in advance, dear pals. :hugs:

Two beauties @SilkCashmereCotton -- I am your sister on Legende de la Forêt. I have the black one and I love it. You are reminding me it needs some neck time! Your Feux du Route is fabulous (love the rope border). I grew up on islands and we sailed as a family so to me the ocean at night is a magical memory. There are quite a few vintage designs that upon examination yield little stories in the vignettes-- some alarming as on your scarf. I concur with everything that @CedarWaxWing has said about it: that ship is in distress. Loved hearing the story of your "ruby" ring and I too have a memory of hearing Leonard Cohen in concert and yes, chills!

I wanted it loose for heat. I put the twilly charm on the top tail to hold the tie down so the silken tie wouldn’t loosen. And it worked all afternoon!

Since joining H silk life in 2018 it took me to 2023 to get a hold of the pastel anglais for the price of not my kidney. I actually found two pastel that year. One I paid a lot more for and one for below retail. So I sold the costlier one to recoup my money. And took to 2025 to get the red for the similar lack of organ payment. My top two cw’s.
