That’s a gorgeous Orto on you Coastal Couture! Those purples, blues and pinks shimmer beautifully!

Thanks for sharing your new, stunning Livre, EtsyBoss. Congrats on your work success and chores done. What a lovely way to treat yourself!
I love that cute fish. If the fish fashion runway existed, this cutie would be reigning supreme 😂😂!

i love your jackets and looks you put together, dear Darkstar🙌
Wish I could join you on a visit to Zurich H boutique, followed by a stop at some nice cafe for a cup of good coffee and that cake🤔🍰!! While wearing our nice scarves, of course 😍!

Congrats on your stunning grail, Redbird🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Thank you, dear Redheaddem. I missed you here! So nice you’re back.
I’m sorry your co workers don’t dress up but it’s nice you can ‘sneak in’ a scarf once in a while. I like how GloWWorM makes tight knots like a little braid so it looks like a little necklace. I’m determined to try that sometime when I feel like my scarf overwhelms me. That might help to make it look smaller and less dressed up 🤔

Teaforparrots, what a great look!!!
Chef’s kiss! 🌹

Dear Karenska, that’s so good to hear. I’m glad you’re well. I’m good but I keep running and doing stupid things when I’m tight w time so I just sprained my ankle today. A foolish act as I was running to a yoga class. I actually ended up doing the class because it stopped hurting but tonight it’s swollen. Silly me!! At least it doesn’t hurt much. 😁

Twins, dear GloWWorM. You look so happy and radiant 😁😍🌸

Thank you, dear Croisette. I just ordered Orto in gold/ brown. It helped that your photo popped up when I did a search. I loved it and clicked on ‘buy’ with the speed of an Olympian!!
😂😂.

Darkstar, oh, no!!! You got bit by your kitty and got a flu on the same day!! You look beautiful on these photos, you could never tell!

I love seeing Coco’s elegant photos and you look so pretty in your power suits, dear Lellabelle 😍

Thanks, Cookie. Hope your like Mimosa. I’ve been wearing it a lot and my husband doesn’t detect it on me, which is a huge bonus because he’s allergic to perfumes and he married a girl who is perfume collector and Miss Enthusiast in this field 🤣🤣.
This blog is great and she has a list with the ratings. Let me see if I can add it here…
Be careful, because it might make you go down the rabbit hole like it happened to me!

What perfumes are you wearing these days w your stunning scarves, Lellabelle?
I’m so glad you like Bois de Jasmine blog, too!
Oh, @Helena7, I am sorry to hear that. I hope your ankle is better and it heals quickly. Take care.

Oooh this Brazil detail with that blue top is such a striking combo! Love the vivid orange and yellow against the muted blue.

Love this sub theme and yes bold prints are absolutely power scarf -y. My Pantin also fits this, I think. Love your Crystal - gloriously bold print and cw.

Congrats on both the work success and the new in! It looks gorgeous. I’m very much hoping to be able to see this in person at some point, thank you for sharing it.

Gorgeous pairings! Doing better with textures and scarves is absolutely #scarfgoals for me. Love esp the Samourais with the pink tweed and the last one - very chic.

This is a bold print and cw power scarf if there ever was one! Love it on you.
Thank you, Jereni!

We’re in the home stretch of our exploration into power scarves. Our day six sub-theme is one that has shown itself already this week - both in your wonderful selections and teased with some of the 80’s pics. Indeed, it’s another facet of the power dressing trend; Pattern: The Bold Print Effect

Bold patterns are more than just eye-catching - they’re a statement. A power scarf with a pattern of vibrant colours, strong contrasts, or a daring design sends the message you’re creative, confident, and in control. From bright florals and nature-inspired patterns, to animal prints and illustrations; from realistic images to abstract patterns, or comic book and whimsical designs. There are many kinds of pattern, and many stories to be told. There are so many options to join the theme today, that we’re limited only by imagination!

Patterns are a powerful way to show your individuality. They are often deeply linked to cultural traditions, ceremonial rituals and celebrations, and many cultures use pattern to signify identity, status and occasion. Perhaps one of the most well-known examples is Scottish tartan, where the specific pattern identifies your clan and heritage, as well as the occasion (patterns pulling double duty in this example). Hermes scarf designs have drawn on numerous sources to inform and inspire patterns, from the pleated skirts of the Miao (Cent plis de Miao), through Asian rugs (Sur un Tapis Volant) and textile designs (Coupons Indiens) to Eastern philosophies (Duo Cosmique) and even rare horse breeds (Appaloosa de Steppes) to give just a few examples. Hermes even uses pattern self-referentially, as in the various Ex Libris designs, the Beverly Hills mosaic, or Magic Kelly. Pattern can be used to make a statement about who you are, where you are from, your culture, your interests and passions, without saying a word.

Patterns do not need to be so intimately tied to identity to have impact however, and sometimes the energy and dynamism of the print is the point, irrespective of the subject. Au bout de Monde (at the edge of the world) is a great example of a simple design that comes to life when tied. The many rainbow and stamped reissues (Jungle Love Rainbow, or Jungle Love Tampon for example) bring an extra element to loved designs. Whether or not we choose patterns with personal significance, embracing pattern can shift not just how others see us, but how we carry ourselves. There’s a natural confidence that comes from wearing something that stands out. Wearing bold patterns is ultimately about embracing who you are and expressing that with confidence.

Silk is a perfect vehicle for pattern, supporting vibrant colours and rich detail with ease. Whether tied around your neck, worn as a top, used as a sash or belt, tied on a handbag, folded into a headband or even braided in your hair, a patterned silk scarf is a high-impact way to incorporate print into a look. Go for smaller accents for a hint of drama, or if you’re feeling adventurous try mixing patterns for a statement-making look.

Style tip: Pair a bold scarf with neutral basics to let the design speak loud and clear. Tie it around your neck, drape it over your shoulders, tie it on a bag, or even as a top for versatile drama.

Feeling adventurous? Here are some tips for pattern-mixing:
• Stick to a common colour palette to unify different prints.
• Consider scale. Scales that are very similar, or very different, can work if there are other common elements.
• Break it up with solids or neutrals to create breathing room between patterns.
• Keep the vibe cohesive: For example, combining two organic patterns (like floral and animal print) often feels more harmonious than clashing an organic pattern with a stark geometric one.

A favourite high drama pattern with a personal connection.

Don’t be afraid to play, to stand out, to bring colour and pattern into your wardrobe, in the form that works for you. How do you play with pattern in your looks?
These bright colours are so chic on you, Lellabelle!

  • Thanks

@darkstar66 these are powerful looks. The scarves and the pinstripes are polished indeed! I'm also a fan MaxMara; always a good choice.

@Jereni twins with you on this Pantin City in this exact colourway. I was hesitant at first because there are so much golden and bronzy tones but, I am amazed by how often I have reached for it! It looks fabulous here with your layered chain and pendants.

@Teaforparrots definitely a power look! I love the touch of red with your Apple Watch band and phone case too. All of this takes planning. Well done.

Finally, here is my power look for today. It would have looked sharper had I taken the photo when the lipstick was freshly. Anyway, one scarf is good, then 2 scarves must be better! Here we are with Mystère au 24 and All'Orto Botanica di Palermo:

As usual, just lovin your Orto! So much texture and depth with those colors.

First a big thanks to you dear @Lellabelle for a wonderful and really inspiring week! 😍 I have learned so much about a lot of new to me topics!
My power dress throughout my work life has always been a blazer. I didn’t own a Hermès scarf at that time, but I loved to wear other silk scarves with my usual „uniform“ 😉 Working in IT at our local university I was always overdressed, but I didn’t care 😂 This is a blazer I sewed last winter. Combined with Offrandes d’un Jour, which I had been searching for a while. Another combination which matches our theme of the day is wearing it with my Zebra Pegasus CSGM, one of my absolute favorite scarves View attachment 6160336View attachment 6160337

I am often over dressed at work too so I can relate - glad to hear you always wore what you liked! These are both pretty but that teal of the ZP leaps off the page.

What a neat sub theme to conclude the week, @Lellabelle.

While I adore most all animals, there is one special one near and dear to me - Gorilla!

They have historically been misjudged, assumed to be vicious but in reality they are gentle giants. While they are capable of great physical strength, they rarely use it to harm anybody and are loyal protectors of their family group through a lot of posturing and vocalization before physical contact. That's a last resort. I'd say I aspire to be more like a gorilla. Kind, loyal, and circumspect. I hope that if I lived in the world of Harry Potter, my patronus would be a gorilla. That would be really cool! "The Patronus is a kind of Anti-Dementor – a guardian which acts as a shield between you and the Dementor." I'd be happy to have a gorilla as my patronus. Calm under pressure while ready to protect loved ones first through vocalizations / strength of words and then only when absolutely necessary - physical aggression.

I know of only one Hermès scarf with a gorilla on it, and it is only a partial gorilla - just the face but oh it's a good one! Jan Bajtlik's Animapolis. Gorilla in the top right corner. I last wore it when I turned 50, to celebrate being a half century.

We don’t talk enough about your hairrrrrrrrrr. ::faints::

I'm ending power week with a favourite go-to, a tunic shirt I made in a powerful teal linen. It's what I wear when I don't know what to wear and I want to look nice but, not too dressed up. The perfect scarf for it is my little Manufacture de Boucleries 70, purchased on a layover at the Frankfurt airport.

View attachment 6160397

LOVE this turquoise look! What a striking scarf. I’m not familiar with the design, but this combo is fantastic.

When I got home from my social outing this afternoon, I needed to change into something warmer and less crumple prone. The pull of Manufacture de Bouclerie was so strong that I left it on and found a complimentary hoodie. I need to remember this one! Even DH thought it was a good match.

Omg perfect! This is the best scarf and hoodie look of all time!

Happy Easter weekend, dear Scarflandia
Zabavushka today as it makes me so happy.

Regarding animal totems, I can’t resist wild cats, be it jaguars, tigers, leopards…., I’m mad for them 😍.
My husband even had a dream of me that kept coming to him 3 times, until he remembered to tell me about it 😂where I was petting a wild cat, I forgot if he said leopard or tiger. I loved that!! He said he was kind of scared but I told him in the dream not to worry!! I didn’t know I was so brave 😂🤣! In his dreams only.

I took it as my animal symbol but also our cat Yogi Tiger looks like a tiger, too, and I adore him to pieces. Some of these I bought because they remind me of how he curls up to sleep. ❤️😍
View attachment 6160466

Here’s a few I couldn’t resist buying, of course, :girlsigh: :graucho: because it’s a tiger or leopard or some kind of a wild cat.
I won’t let myself buy another one because this is quite an Tiger obsession-itis we’re taking about :yahoo:

Dear Scarfies, wishing a very Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates! My family and I are still ensconced on a beautiful island paradise, winding down our vacation so I have not seen all your wonderful posts from Power Week-- looking forward to catching up a bit next week after I head home and before I take off again for Jazz Fest in New Orleans. I am liking and loving what I have seen today! The one silk 90 I brought with me has been perfect for the week and for today-- lots of happy birds (and I see sisters with @FA73 and several others here 🧡 )

For our final day exploring power scarves, get ready to unleash your Shirleys, Dallets, Faivres, Linares and Poirets, because today we will embrace Animal totems: animal symbols and connections that enhance our power.

Animal totems - also known as spirit animals or power animals - are deeply rooted in many Indigenous cultures, spiritual traditions, and modern spiritual practices. They are believed to embody traits, messages, and guidance from nature and the animal kingdom. Each animal carries its own energy, lessons, and symbolism. You might feel a strong connection to a specific animal, or perhaps you identify with certain animal qualities or traits. Trust your intuition - your animal totem often reflects your core essence: the strengths you can draw on when needed.

Hermès has long embraced the animal kingdom in its silk designs, and there are many incredible scarf choices featuring animals of every type, shape and size. From animals that feature as the central element, like @Redbirdhermes’s Acinonyx Jubatus, or the big cats of Panthera Pardus, Tyger Tyger and Jaguar Quetzal, the giraffes of Three Graces, or the elephant of Beloved India, to the more subtle animal inclusions such as Annie Faivre’s monkeys or Jan Bajtlik’s dog, Kluska. Whether you love the sloth on Equateur, the red panda on Sichuan, or the pangolin on Wild Singapore, there’s an animal for you out there in the Hermès jungle, wetland, ocean, plain, or mountain.

The magnificent bear of Grrrrr, Yellowstone Forever

Here’s a look at some common animal totems and the qualities they represent (these are courtesy of professor Google, so are shared in the spirit of fun rather than education):

Animal totems and their meanings:
Wolf – Intuition, freedom, loyalty, leadership
If the wolf is your totem, you’re likely independent, deeply intuitive, and value community - leading while still honouring the pack.
Owl – Wisdom, insight, mystery, transition
An owl totem suggests you have a deep connection to the unseen and often pick up on truths others miss. You’re a seeker of knowledge.
Bear – Strength, grounding, introspection
Bear people are strong, protective, and often called to healing or leadership. You’re a force of nature with a deep inner world.
Deer – Gentleness, grace, compassion
If the deer is your guide, you likely have a tender heart and a calm, nurturing presence. You meet challenges with quiet strength.
Eagle – Vision, power, spiritual awakening
The eagle symbolizes a strong connection to spirit and a broader perspective. You soar above the chaos and see the big picture.
Butterfly – Transformation, renewal, beauty
This totem reflects a life of change and rebirth. You evolve constantly and help others embrace transformation.
Fox – Cleverness, adaptability, quick thinking
Fox people are problem solvers and skilled at navigating tricky situations. You’re witty, strategic, and graceful under pressure.
Horse – Freedom, endurance, passion
A horse totem suggests a wild spirit and a strong drive. You’re guided by personal freedom and have stamina for long journeys, whether physical or spiritual.
Raven – Magic, creation, shadow work
Ravens symbolize mystery, magic, and transformation through darkness. If this is your totem, you’re deeply introspective and often a guide for others’ healing.
Turtle – Patience, resilience, wisdom
The turtle teaches steady progress and grounded wisdom. If this is your animal, you’re probably a calm, ancient soul who knows good things take time.
Lion – Courage, leadership, pride
The lion totem is associated with bravery and power. You’re a natural leader with a protective spirit and a fierce heart.
Dragonfly – Change, lightness, self-realization
If this shimmering creature is your totem, you’re deeply sensitive and spiritually aware - always growing, always in motion.

Connecting with your animal totem can be a way to better understand yourself, navigate life’s challenges, and tap into inner strength. Whatever the qualities you want to connect with - whether you need the strength of the bear, the wisdom of the owl, or the patience of the turtle, your spirit animal is a powerfully ally.

Style tip: When styling an animal print scarf, let it be the statement piece. Pair it with neutral tones like black, white, beige or denim to keep the look balanced. A simple white shirt/blouse or black sweater will let your chosen animal be the star!

Which animal are you unable to resist in scarf design, and what does it mean to you?

Thanks for exploring with me this week, and for sharing your personal power scarves. My own animal totem would without doubt be the leopard. MrBelle commented only last week that it features heavily in my scarf choices and is by far the best represented motif in my collection. Their combination of grace and power, beauty and focussed intent speaks to what I aspire to be.

An important acknowledgment of Indigenous wisdom:
This post is shared in a spirit of fun and connection with our community here. It is important for me to include that animal totems hold deep cultural and spiritual significance for many Indigenous peoples around the world. In Native American traditions, for example, totems are more than symbols - they represent a profound connection between the individual, the tribe, the natural world, and the spirit realm. Spirit animals are believed to offer protection, guidance, and ancestral wisdom. These relationships are honoured through stories, ceremonies, and sacred art, forming an integral part of cultural identity and spiritual practice. It’s important to approach animal totems with respect and recognition of their sacred role in Indigenous belief systems, acknowledging that for many, these animals are more than metaphors; they are kin, teachers, and spiritual allies.
Thank you so much for your splendid hosting, Lellabelle! Although I did not post a single scarf, I enjoyed reading your posts and seeing all the power scarves. Enjoy the (long) weekend!

Thank you, @Lellabelle for a wonderful week of hosting :hugs:

This week, we have an Easter-appropriate theme.
🌈 🌈 🌈 🌈 🌈

Rainbow Connection: 7 days, 7 colours
or wear your most colourful scarves

Wear ROYGBIV in sequence or go rogue like I intend to! I'm going to do the sequence in reverse just for fun!
You can also extend this week's theme - so many of you chose colourful scarves to make an impression :flowers:

Violet - my first colour for the week
There are a great many shades of violet, although the flower by that name comes first to my mind when I think of violet.

On the right, my favourite cw of Grande Marine in shades of purple and violet on a navy base.
On the left is the delightful cw of Acte III which uses a lavender purple as an accent colour for the backdrop and clouds.
PicsArt_03-05-10.49.42.webp
When I googled violet to make sure my idea of the colour was correct, wikipedia described a vivid shade of violet (electric violet) as the closest that the computer screen could get to that colour. It certainly reminds me of several scarves I have. My first encounter with this colour was quite comical. I opened my scarf mail, took one look at the scarf and closed the box. It was eye-wateringly bright! It took me several months to work up the courage to wear Mosaique au 24. (I'm much braver now )

Three of my phoenixes have purple in the design.
One is a gav. The colours of the main motif are rather sombre but the purple border is a lovely pop of colour.

Soft purple-violet birds and orchids peep out from the foliage in Au Coeur de la Vie. I waited a long time to acquire this as it was always too expensive for my bank to accept. :hbeat:

Happy Easter, everyone! 🌈

Beautiful back to back Oiseaux @FA73 and @LKBNOLA! LKB you are so kind to pop in during your vacation to treat us to such beauty. You look like a movie star today! And FA73 - really gorgeous use of color! That's an inspired pairing with your butterscotch top. I think I'm twins with you on this one. I need to get mine out and see what colors mine has. It's one of the first H I ever got and I think it needs more neck time! It's practically an O.G. for me!

This will be a fun week @xincinsin! Thanks for getting the ball rolling. I can't wait to see all the colors this week. Maybe we will see some more colorful bird / animal pairings, flower pairings, perfume bottles, jewelry and perhaps bags. I know my wallet is in trouble if the first thing I thought was ooooh I can pair scarves with a matching ROYGBIV bag but I can't cover the spectrum, LOL. I'm currently longing for a violet bag so your post is extra enabling!

A little bit of RED for the R in ROYGBIV and a crossover from last week with another animal totem: Tiger! I'm the Year of the Tiger in Chinese Astrology. People born in the Year of the Tiger are believed to be confident, energetic, and bold, with a determined spirit and a strong work ethic which holds up. I love how horoscopes encourage a healthy bit of confirmation bias!
