Brazil is gorgeous on you, dear Jereni.Lol so my work meeting did NOT go that well yesterday and I’m attempting to strike back with a power scarf with an edge lol. This one has poppin brights but the dark background always makes me feel moody and dangerous in it haha. Perhaps armor related?

Dear Coastal Couture, thanks. I was cracking up at my attire that day. We were going out to the restaurant and the hike was a last min thing!🤔🤣 That’s the only coat I had on me but luckily I always keep a pair of hiking boots in my car!!@Helena7 gorgeous jacket and scarf pairings! I'll bet you were the best dressed person at the Marin Headlands that day! I'm always wearing fleece when I go there.
KL, What a wonderful blazer you made!!First a big thanks to you dear @Lellabelle for a wonderful and really inspiring week! 😍 I have learned so much about a lot of new to me topics!
My power dress throughout my work life has always been a blazer. I didn’t own a Hermès scarf at that time, but I loved to wear other silk scarves with my usual „uniform“ 😉 Working in IT at our local university I was always overdressed, but I didn’t care 😂 This is a blazer I sewed last winter. Combined with Offrandes d’un Jour, which I had been searching for a while. Another combination which matches our theme of the day is wearing it with my Zebra Pegasus CSGM, one of my absolute favorite scarves View attachment 6160336View attachment 6160337
Croisette,
Etsy, you look gorgeousWhat a neat sub theme to conclude the week, @Lellabelle.
While I adore most all animals, there is one special one near and dear to me - Gorilla!
They have historically been misjudged, assumed to be vicious but in reality they are gentle giants. While they are capable of great physical strength, they rarely use it to harm anybody and are loyal protectors of their family group through a lot of posturing and vocalization before physical contact. That's a last resort. I'd say I aspire to be more like a gorilla. Kind, loyal, and circumspect. I hope that if I lived in the world of Harry Potter, my patronus would be a gorilla. That would be really cool! "The Patronus is a kind of Anti-Dementor – a guardian which acts as a shield between you and the Dementor." I'd be happy to have a gorilla as my patronus. Calm under pressure while ready to protect loved ones first through vocalizations / strength of words and then only when absolutely necessary - physical aggression.
I know of only one Hermès scarf with a gorilla on it, and it is only a partial gorilla - just the face but oh it's a good one! Jan Bajtlik's Animapolis. Gorilla in the top right corner. I last wore it when I turned 50, to celebrate being a half century.

Dear Lellabelle, Thanks for sweet comments and an inspiring week. This is fantastic on you @EtsyBoss. Colours are in your comfort zone, easy to ‘throw and go’, as you say, but with enough contrast and drama to make a statement.
Brasserie lunch looks great, too. We have fewer good restaurant options locally than I’d like, but there are some good options for casual eats. We did a good hike with Dragon yesterday in the sunshine and stopped for some handmade ice cream afterward from a little place nearby. A great way to start the weekend! Well done for completing your chores (for the day at least 🤣) and congratulations on your work successes! 🥂
Amazing, @Helena7. I love all of these, so superbly styled. Proving that the Chanel jacket holds it’s own after all this time - what a fashion powerhouse! You’ve done an amazing job styling these with casual modern elegance.
And - enquiring minds want to know - are you hiking in that last pic?!
I tend to pick them in the moment, @Helena7. We’re just seeing the early days of Spring here, with some sunny days after a long wet and cold winter, so I’ve been leaning into florals, but some of the more seasonally appropriate ones. Ostara, Lace Garden, Dryad, Wit, and different iterations of 1960’s and 70’s Miss Dior have all made an appearance in the last week or two. Santal Blush and Vert de Bois on some wetter days. Mx and Premier Figuier.
I have cocktails with MrBelle later and will wear Mito. It’s one of my very favourites. I adore magnolia and this is one of the most hauntingly beautiful scents to feature it, in my opinion.
Gorgeous, @Croisette7 💗💜💕. Truly a stunning colour combination and that beautiful coat provides perfect balance. I do love your jackets and coats with contrasting stitching - you have an inspiring wardrobe.
Good move on the hiking boots! I am relatively near by and an H trip is always a good idea.Dear Coastal Couture, thanks. I was cracking up at my attire that day. This is a glorious color way of Tigre Royale! I think it’s the tangerine pop that is so alluring. I love it! Thanks for posting!Hello and good morning,
I like rose because of its versatility. It can be combined with many colours, and here are 2 somewhat unusual pairings, first with yellow and perhaps tomorrow with green. Today, my beloved Tigre Royal.View attachment 6152869View attachment 6152870View attachment 6152871
ETA In fact I took the inspiration from nature, it's the predominant colour combination in our gardens at the moment.
Fantastic collection of big cat scarves. Thanks for sharing.Happy Easter weekend, dear Scarflandia
Zabavushka today as it makes me so happy.
Regarding animal totems, I can’t resist wild cats, be it jaguars, tigers, leopards…., I’m mad for them 😍.
My husband even had a dream of me that kept coming to him 3 times, until he remembered to tell me about it 😂where I was petting a wild cat, I forgot if he said leopard or tiger. I loved that!! He said he was kind of scared but I told him in the dream not to worry!! I didn’t know I was so brave 😂🤣! In his dreams only.
I took it as my animal symbol but also our cat Yogi Tiger looks like a tiger, too, and I adore him to pieces. Some of these I bought because they remind me of how he curls up to sleep. ❤️😍

This week I've been too busy Bossing at work and home to participate as much I wanted to for this week. I love the theme and have been enjoying everyone's shares when I'm able to swing by! Thank you @Lellabelle for your insightful posts and style tips.
Today I took a bit of a rest day which started with my usual early morning swim followed by some website maintenance and then an un-boxing of my much anticipated Livre d'Esope. I saved it to open as a reward for finally getting my various chores (mostly) done. This time of year they are never done done. I knew I would love it and I do, I really really love my Esope!
I immediately took it out to lunch at my favorite brasserie. My DH came with me and we each got a glass of champagne to celebrate big work successes.
View attachment 6160125View attachment 6160126
The Esope colorway I picked (navy) is a color scheme that I find comfortable, easy to throw and go, and is a good subtle boss color - neither overpowering nor insipid. I really like the bits of light green in it and the flashes of dark orange, almost red. The bits of brighter French blue are wonderful too. And the spotty dotty edge bits....... they remind me of the skin of this great little fish I got to see in the Maldives. It had long been on my wish list. It's called a clown triggerfish. Very cute! Very spotty dotty! I imagine this fish bossing its way out and about all along the coral reef.
View attachment 6160124 * will share more Esope shots in the 2025 spring summer thread laterI haven't forgetten @redheaddem
Sounds great! We can even go for a little walk on our way there! Doesn’t have to be M Headlands, of course. How do I send you a private message w my phone number???🤔Good move on the hiking boots! I am relatively near by and an H trip is always a good idea.
Redbird, Thank you! I’m glad it’s ok. I was worried I posted too many 😳Fantastic collection of big cat scarves. Thanks for sharing.
I’m just catching up on some older posts and I love love love your pink Jardin, dear LKBNOLA. I’m your yellow sister 😍Good morning dear Scarfies and Happy Tuesday! I am struggling a bit with our theme-- not because I don't have favorite scarves and favorite colors, but because I have too many, I think. In March and early April I like to wear what are sometimes called "transitional colors" not as dark as winter, not as pastel as spring and not as bright as summer. I am drawn to liminal spaces and "between times" anyway so these colors speak to me... Yesterday I posted one of my favorite color combos (Mystère au 24 in mastic/rose poudre). Mastic translates literally from the French as "putty" which certainly doesn't sound appealing but it makes for a beautiful luminous background, as on my SOTD, the 70 reissue of Jean de Fougerolle's Pampa...
View attachment 6152464View attachment 6152472
Here's another view of Mystère au 24, showing some of the mastic background (and nary a hint of rose poudre!)
View attachment 6152471View attachment 6152474
Another favorite scarf of mine that features the color mastic is Toutsy's Jardin de la Nouvelle Angleterre. Delighted to be twins with @Croisette7 and @Maedi...
View attachment 6152467View attachment 6152473
And there you have it! My ode to the color "mastic"...
Also, Happy April Fool's Day (I see we have changing names and tag lines today!)
Thank you! I can’t wait 😍All fabulous on you and congrats on your expecting Orto ... you will love it!
Thank you, dear Darkstar. I’ll let you know if I happen to be in your area. 😁Hello @Helena7 . Would love to show you Zurich!
Thank you, dear Jereni. Hope you’re having a great Easter weekend.Oooh this Brazil detail with that blue top is such a striking combo! Love the vivid orange and yellow against the muted blue.
Love this sub theme and yes bold prints are absolutely power scarf -y. My Pantin also fits this, I think. Love your Crystal - gloriously bold print and cw.
Congrats on both the work success and the new in! It looks gorgeous. I’m very much hoping to be able to see this in person at some point, thank you for sharing it.
Gorgeous pairings! Doing better with textures and scarves is absolutely #scarfgoals for me. Love esp the Samourais with the pink tweed and the last one - very chic.
This is a bold print and cw power scarf if there ever was one! Love it on you.
Thank you 🙏🌸Very beautifully coordinated, congratulations on these sophisticated looks.😍
Wow, dear Redbirdhermes!! That’s impressive! I love your story about flying that plane and the photo w your daughter! From The Story Behind-
Young French artist Ugo Bienvenu is the creator of a series of short, animated films produced for the house, featuring the Hermès woman. He used them as inspiration for this appealing silk comic strip full of humor. The heroine travels across Paris in a sports car, on horseback, on rollerblades and by jet-ski. As she flies past, feisty and fearless in all circumstances, she is spotted by two golfers. "An Amazon?" they wonder. "No, the Hermès woman!"
View attachment 6159076
I've never been on a jet-ski, but I have gotten my pilot's license. One of my favorite memories is the time I flew my then teenage daughter to Ohio, and we landed at Purdue University Airport for fuel. I was flying the Piper Archer, which is a four seat aircraft with only one door on the passenger side. So my daughter exits the airplane, then I exit the airplane, and the young man who helped park us looks at the airplane expectantly. Because he's waiting for the pilot to exit. Nope, it's just us two women. A powerful moment for me. Photo is of us at my home airport with the Archer and ready to depart.
View attachment 6159083
Ugo captures the feeling so well with his design. WOW is my power scarf of the day.
View attachment 6159084
Croisette, i love How you paired this scarf w that gorgeous top or dress!! 🙌🙌
Hahaha!! That sounds like my cat Yogi. He wakes me up often but when I’m talking on the phone and he’s napping, he makes this complaining little sound, like ‘Mum why are you waking me up???’ 😻What a charming little fellow - I’d be powerless too!
I can see the 3:00am exchange:
Puppy: “help, my blanket is untucked! My temperature is sub-optimal! Attend to my comfort!”
Me: “yes, master. Right away! How else may I serve you?”
Puppy: “well, your bed does look comfier than mine. What’s that about? Also, you’re ruining my nap”
🤣
I love that on you, Maedi. Perfect with your skin tone 😀🌷Pink can be a power color as @Lellabelle has shown. My df Mille feuilles with the more subdued side shown.

Thanks for hosting this week and sharing your beautiful scarves with us, dear Lellabelle. ❤️ I can’t tell which one I like better. They’re all great. 🌹🌹For our final day exploring power scarves, get ready to unleash your Shirleys, Dallets, Faivres, Linares and Poirets, because today we will embrace Animal totems: animal symbols and connections that enhance our power.
Animal totems - also known as spirit animals or power animals - are deeply rooted in many Indigenous cultures, spiritual traditions, and modern spiritual practices. They are believed to embody traits, messages, and guidance from nature and the animal kingdom. Each animal carries its own energy, lessons, and symbolism. You might feel a strong connection to a specific animal, or perhaps you identify with certain animal qualities or traits. Trust your intuition - your animal totem often reflects your core essence: the strengths you can draw on when needed.
Hermès has long embraced the animal kingdom in its silk designs, and there are many incredible scarf choices featuring animals of every type, shape and size. From animals that feature as the central element, like @Redbirdhermes’s Acinonyx Jubatus, or the big cats of Panthera Pardus, Tyger Tyger and Jaguar Quetzal, the giraffes of Three Graces, or the elephant of Beloved India, to the more subtle animal inclusions such as Annie Faivre’s monkeys or Jan Bajtlik’s dog, Kluska. Whether you love the sloth on Equateur, the red panda on Sichuan, or the pangolin on Wild Singapore, there’s an animal for you out there in the Hermès jungle, wetland, ocean, plain, or mountain.

Here’s a look at some common animal totems and the qualities they represent (these are courtesy of professor Google, so are shared in the spirit of fun rather than education):
Animal totems and their meanings:
• Wolf – Intuition, freedom, loyalty, leadership
If the wolf is your totem, you’re likely independent, deeply intuitive, and value community - leading while still honouring the pack.
• Owl – Wisdom, insight, mystery, transition
An owl totem suggests you have a deep connection to the unseen and often pick up on truths others miss. You’re a seeker of knowledge.
• Bear – Strength, grounding, introspection
Bear people are strong, protective, and often called to healing or leadership. You’re a force of nature with a deep inner world.
• Deer – Gentleness, grace, compassion
If the deer is your guide, you likely have a tender heart and a calm, nurturing presence. You meet challenges with quiet strength.
• Eagle – Vision, power, spiritual awakening
The eagle symbolizes a strong connection to spirit and a broader perspective. You soar above the chaos and see the big picture.
• Butterfly – Transformation, renewal, beauty
This totem reflects a life of change and rebirth. You evolve constantly and help others embrace transformation.
• Fox – Cleverness, adaptability, quick thinking
Fox people are problem solvers and skilled at navigating tricky situations. You’re witty, strategic, and graceful under pressure.
• Horse – Freedom, endurance, passion
A horse totem suggests a wild spirit and a strong drive. You’re guided by personal freedom and have stamina for long journeys, whether physical or spiritual.
• Raven – Magic, creation, shadow work
Ravens symbolize mystery, magic, and transformation through darkness. If this is your totem, you’re deeply introspective and often a guide for others’ healing.
• Turtle – Patience, resilience, wisdom
The turtle teaches steady progress and grounded wisdom. If this is your animal, you’re probably a calm, ancient soul who knows good things take time.
• Lion – Courage, leadership, pride
The lion totem is associated with bravery and power. You’re a natural leader with a protective spirit and a fierce heart.
• Dragonfly – Change, lightness, self-realization
If this shimmering creature is your totem, you’re deeply sensitive and spiritually aware - always growing, always in motion.
Connecting with your animal totem can be a way to better understand yourself, navigate life’s challenges, and tap into inner strength. Whatever the qualities you want to connect with - whether you need the strength of the bear, the wisdom of the owl, or the patience of the turtle, your spirit animal is a powerfully ally.
Style tip: When styling an animal print scarf, let it be the statement piece. Pair it with neutral tones like black, white, beige or denim to keep the look balanced. A simple white shirt/blouse or black sweater will let your chosen animal be the star!
Which animal are you unable to resist in scarf design, and what does it mean to you?
Thanks for exploring with me this week, and for sharing your personal power scarves. My own animal totem would without doubt be the leopard. MrBelle commented only last week that it features heavily in my scarf choices and is by far the best represented motif in my collection. Their combination of grace and power, beauty and focussed intent speaks to what I aspire to be.

An important acknowledgment of Indigenous wisdom:
This post is shared in a spirit of fun and connection with our community here. It is important for me to include that animal totems hold deep cultural and spiritual significance for many Indigenous peoples around the world. In Native American traditions, for example, totems are more than symbols - they represent a profound connection between the individual, the tribe, the natural world, and the spirit realm. Spirit animals are believed to offer protection, guidance, and ancestral wisdom. These relationships are honoured through stories, ceremonies, and sacred art, forming an integral part of cultural identity and spiritual practice. It’s important to approach animal totems with respect and recognition of their sacred role in Indigenous belief systems, acknowledging that for many, these animals are more than metaphors; they are kin, teachers, and spiritual allies.
