I know what you mean. When our kids were babies we joked that we needed to change political views, behaviors etc for our kids to rebel against ‘our’ beliefs and turn towards the right things.😉 very reverse psychology…. How clever we thought we were…Thank you, HE. I took up flying in mid-life when my children were teenagers. I hoped they would take an interest in flying, but neither of them did. It was the wrong age for them. "You do know that what I'm doing is really cool, don't you?" Yes, intellectually, but no, emotionally. I was still their mom, and they needed to break away and be different.
Your Guepards is very pretty!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am always attracted to big cats on scarf and this artist is by far my most favorite one. If i could collect all of his pieces, I would. And better yet, it is a double face piece!!!Ohmygoodness - that’s beautiful!
Thank you sweetheart - I hope she is too. She is always a ray of sunshine. ❤️
Not strange at all! And it’s scarf of the day, so any and all scarves are always on theme 😁Thank you for introducing us to armour and defence, Lellabelle. I'm afraid I will have to pass here. I don't like armour or anything military on me and fortunately I don't have to defend myself (anymore). I even have my issues with Parures de Samurais, very strange, I know. 🤭 Will find something else tomorrow!
Thank you for mentioning my Femme aux Semelles du vent - today in honour of our theme week I took it out again.Day three of our explorations into power scarves, and today I will take a softer path. Strength is not always loud. Sometimes, the strength we remember, and which has the most profound and lasting impact, is the quiet strength of people who persevere. It takes strength to continue on a hard path, one step at a time. Sub theme for today is one I think we can all relate to, though we may not always think to relate it to our scarves: Strong women and the people who inspire us.
@Jacq1 already gave us a wonderful example of a power scarf, with La Femme aux Semelles du Vent (“the woman with soles of the wind”), a beautiful tribute to the incomparable Alexandra David-Néel. A trailblazing French explorer, spiritualist, and writer, Alexandra David-Nèel’s fearless spirit set her apart as one of the most remarkable women of her time. Born in 1868, she defied societal expectations by venturing alone into the most remote regions of Asia, mastering Tibetan language and culture, and becoming the first Western woman to enter the forbidden city of Lhasa in 1924, disguised as a pilgrim. What made her unique was not just her daring travels, but her deep intellectual and spiritual curiosity and dedication; immersing herself in Buddhist philosophy, living as a hermit in a Himalayan cave, and earning the respect of lamas and mystics alike. Strong-willed, independent, and undeterred by danger or convention, David-Néel embodied a rare blend of courage, resilience, and insight that continues to inspire adventurers and knowledge seekers to this day. Wearing her story on silk is both a tribute and an inspiration to take some bold steps of our own.

(I almost bought this same CW at a great price a couple of years ago, but was on holiday and decided it could wait. What was I thinking?!)
Many of Alexandra David-Néel’s qualities - her adventurous nature and fierce intellect - resonate with the spirit of exploration celebrated in the world of Hermès scarf designs. A pioneer and an outsider in luxury, being one of the last independent major brands still in private family ownership, Hermès has long paid tribute to legendary explorers and pioneers through silk designs, transforming their stories into precious works of art. Designs have featured the likes of Marco Polo, whose travels along the Silk Road opened the East to Europe, and Ernest Shackleton, whose ill-fated expedition to the Arctic ended in tragedy. Other explorers feature prominently, directly or indirectly, such as Christopher Columbus (historical accuracies aside!), the Baudin expedition in Geographie, Paul-Èmile Victor in Expéditions Polaires Françaises, or the the voyages of Pytheas, or Pierre Loti. These scarves serve as visual homages to the curiosity and courage that unite explorers of land, sea, and spirit. The travels of French explorer Jean-François de Galaup, Count de Lapérouse are depicted in Per Astra ad Astra, whose name translates to "To the Stars Through Difficulty" or "Through the Stars to the Stars," a Latin phrase that emphasizes overcoming challenges to achieve goals, making it especially on theme as a power scarf.

However, we don’t need to look to history for sources of inspiration and empowerment. Some of the most inspiring women I know are those who are unlikely to be featured in a silk design, but whom I can honour nonetheless. @Redbirdhermes shared a beautiful picture of motherhood with her infant daughter; motherhood is one of the most enduring examples of quiet strength and resilience. Our mothers inspire us, teach us strength and provide comfort when we need it. Many of us have scarves we turn to when we want to remember, honour or support our mothers, sisters, relatives and friends. Wearing these scarves is powerful, as it connects us and allows us to share that spirit; to celebrate and embody that strength. My scarf for today is a power scarf with a crossover for power colour: worn today to honour a friend battling breast cancer.

Grand Tra La La in rose vif. A crossover with power colours.
Style tip: add a piece of jewellery, pin, brooch or accessory that you’ve picked up on your travels. Linking your own adventure to the look!
What scarves do you turn to when you want to channel an intrepid spirit, stimulate curiosity and resilience, or feel brave?
Sorry to hear that! What about the dark CW?I agree! Definitely a power scarf, esp with this striking outfit.
Darling! You gotta love a dandelion’s resilience! This is lovely on you. Sorry about your taxes! We did knot get good news either.
This is bold and bright and beautiful and all the things! And agree on taking oneself out! I got out to dinner alone often when I travel for work. I used to bring a notepad and a pen and half the time I would notice I got special treatment prob bc they thought I was a restaurant critic. But that doesn’t really happen anymore, prob bc of social media and internet ratings for restaurants and such.
I love the Handmaid’s Tale also, I think it’s one of the most intense and shattering series in the history of television.
This scarf is such a work of art! You carry these bright, vivacious colors so well!
Love the preppy yellows and blues here!!!! Puppy looks like a sweetie!
Helloooo! We’ve missed ya. These are both gorgeous. I’m jealous, I love the Livre design but I don’t think any of the cws are going to work out for me.
Dear Jacq, what a wonderful grandma you have❤️. And you look so happy in La Femme scarf. We’re sisters! This cw looks magical on you.Thank you for mentioning my Femme aux Semelles du vent - today in honour of our theme week I took it out again.
It goes perfectly with the pants that my grandma made for me. My grandma is another example of an inspirational women. As a child, she was fighting hunger in post war Germany with her family. Later on in life she became a seamstress and worked most of her life despite raising 2 children.
Now, despite turning 88 this year, she mainly sews for my sister and me. To keep her occupied, I am constantly on the lookout for exciting patterns and fun fabric.
Her latest work is a set of linen pants with a matching vest and shirt. They coordinate wonderfully with my quiet and powerful adventurer scarf.

I love the blue and gold Phoenix, dear Cookie. I still haven’t learned that knot. I love it. I’ll go back to the week of new knots and learn! 🤓🤓🤓The mythical phoenix is known for its ability to regenerate or be reborn from its own ashes, often symbolizing renewal, immortality, and resurrection.
Renewal, resurgence, rejuvenation, revitalization.
Just what we need!

“Wow” is, I believe, the appropriate response to this amazing post. I’m sure any onlookers to this scene might have had a similar dialogue about you disembarking from your airplane - Amazon of the air! From The Story Behind-
Young French artist Ugo Bienvenu is the creator of a series of short, animated films produced for the house, featuring the Hermès woman. He used them as inspiration for this appealing silk comic strip full of humor. The heroine travels across Paris in a sports car, on horseback, on rollerblades and by jet-ski. As she flies past, feisty and fearless in all circumstances, she is spotted by two golfers. "An Amazon?" they wonder. "No, the Hermès woman!"

I've never been on a jet-ski, but I have gotten my pilot's license. One of my favorite memories is the time I flew my then teenage daughter to Ohio, and we landed at Purdue University Airport for fuel. I was flying the Piper Archer, which is a four seat aircraft with only one door on the passenger side. So my daughter exits the airplane, then I exit the airplane, and the young man who helped park us looks at the airplane expectantly. Because he's waiting for the pilot to exit. Nope, it's just us two women. A powerful moment for me. Photo is of us at my home airport with the Archer and ready to depart.

I remember your previous posts about your bespoke pieces fondly @Jacq1. Your grandma is talented, in addition to being a strong and inspiring woman. How wonderful to be raised with this example, and how precious these stylish pieces must be to you. The colour match with your Femme is superb. I’m honoured that you were inspired to wear these, @Helena7. Wearing the precious ones can be such a hard thing to do (I am guilty of this too) but, as you say, they’re not being enjoyed in their boxes! Thanks for these inspiring posts, Lellabelle.
Today I’m wearing these two samurai scarves for the first time, because of that. (in general, I find them too precious to wear, but then, what’s the point of that???)
I’ve been wearing a lot of black these days, especially leather jackets or suits, and these scarves really brighten that darkness!
I couldn’t decidewhich one to wear but the pink / grey won!! Big grey sections I think go well with the black leather jacket.
Every day I pick a fragrance and most of the time I change it in the afternoon.
Today I grabbed Violette Volynka but it’s time for another one.I have quite a few bottles of my favourites here at work.
I think Lutens Sarrasins with its leather &jasmine will do the trick and help me w my work load.
