Beautiful sentiment and styling. The milles feuilles is perfect with the sweater detail.Good morning and happy Sunday, dear Scarfies. Hummingbirds are little creatures! The bird is not found on the scarf I paired with my sweater, but other small creatures are there-- goldfish and birds on land and in the sky...
For those of you curious about my sweater, the founders of the company Minnie Rose each associated their mothers with the spirit of hummingbirds and designed this in their honor. My own dearly departed mother also loved hummingbirds and also succumbed to cancer so I bought this in her memory. The sweater's story resonated with me deeply: "In many cultures, not only are hummingbirds considered a sign that the spirit of a loved one who has passed may be near, but they embody a myriad of positive qualities and serve as potent symbols of inspiration." We have hummingbirds at our feeders every year and they never fail to bring me joy.

Looking forward to the week!
Good morning!
Thank you @Cookiefiend for leading us through a rainbow tinted week! And to all of you who shared, commented on and reacted on our shared colorful passion.
I have yet to put on my sotd which will be a crossover but am now introducing
Critters: find the small animals roaming our scarves
I am happy and honored to be hosting this week with a theme that was one of the reasons I became addicted to H scarves: the biodiversity!
We all know and love the horses and the Big cats, even a Giant turkey, a t-rex and an Elephant now and then, but as in Nature it is not always the megafauna which plays the most significant role in the ecosystem.
So I dedicate this week to the smaller creatures - the multitudes of little critters roaming our scarves - sometime as the main feature, sometimes hidden in the design. Let us go on a scarf safari - not with guns, but with magnifying glasses and keen eyes!
I have thought a bit about subthemes for this, and during the week I will each day invite you to look for new categories of tiny Life: for rare and even extint animals, for insects and other invertebrates, for cute little furry friends, for those hiding and those escaping from the designs.
But for todays intro I will just mention the Giant elephants in the room - the three designers who probably have put more biodiversity into H scarves than any others and have distinct naturalistic styles: Robert Dallet, Kermit Oliver and Alice Shirley. They have all created designs which almost encyclopidecal (dont know if that is used or spelled correct) records the wildlife of a specific place or country. From the precious Life of the mediterranean and to the Canadian or Texan Wildlife, from the four seasons to wild Singapore and great plaines and from Equateur to the English countryside. In many of these great scarves there are large iconic species, but they also have so many small, even humble, species which adds to the life-like Nature and the completeness of the designs. I find myself looking at these scarves and Think : I like it all, but that they put that animal in there is a testament to both knowledge, artistry and sometimes even humour.

But: all my travelling companions are narturalists, among them a zoologist specializing in mammals, so if you have an unknown critter on you scarf, now is the time to get it specified! - just post a picture!!!
For example I will get these two kinds of monkeys identified asap

Hello dear scarfies,
Of course I comply with Croisette7's wish and wear my Flamingo Party this Sunday. I wear it on navy usually because I think this makes its beautiful colours gleam the most. But of course you can pair it with any colour and also with cream or white as Croisette7 has shown brilliantly. I like it very much, it's my favourite Toutsy design with the two majestic flamingoes (ah, these feathers!) standing in some sort of pool or the sea, surrounded by magnificent tropical nature. Perhaps it could even fit this week's theme because there are 8 very small birds buzzing through the jungle. What is your opinion, Echidna?View attachment 6154629View attachment 6154631View attachment 6154635View attachment 6154634

Hello and good morning,
So this is my most loved scarf and in my absolutely favourite cw. If I were allowed to have only one scarf, it would be this one. It is bold but also serene, it is fresh and joyful, it goes with every colour and outfit, it can be styled quite differently because the design is balanced and has various styling elements. Twins with many if you, I can think of @bunnycat , @Marta_K , @Ladybaga and many more, it is so popular. My little story behind: when I quit my office job 7 years ago, I was gifted many things, and among them I received a big, fat envelope with money my work collegues from the offices and production had collected as a farewell gift. The amount was sufficient to buy this scarf, a precious memory for me for the good companionship and support I had had the pleasure to experience for more than 20 years. Please let me present: Jaguar Quetzal!View attachment 6154193View attachment 6154194View attachment 6154195

But today - is another gray, chilly, and rainy day. Ordinarily I would chose a colorful scarf, but today I am choosing a favorite scarf in a favorite but unsung color - brown.
Brown doesn’t seem to be much a favorite color, but it is so beautiful - it’s the color of my eyes, the color of chocolate, and the color of the earth we walk on and share with the world.
So - kudos to brown!

HEchidna's reference to the "Big Three" designers (Dallet, KO, and Alice Shirley) is a clever nod to The Big Five African safari animals so many are keen to see and a lucky few actually achieve in one try. I was almost one of them on a trip to South Africa but the only cape buffalo I saw was one a lion had been feasting on. I'm not complaining though.. I got to see lions - including babies - a whole kitten caboodle of them in the biggest cuddle puddle ever (8 kittens!). I also got to bushwhack in a jeep at high speed through dense brush while our guides were hot on the tail of a leopard sighting, at night. That was exhilarating! I still remember those spots when we caught up with the leopard who was casually strolling along. While in South Africa I learned of a new concept called The Little Five (buffalo weaver, elephant shrew, leopard tortoise, ant lion, and rhinocerous beetle) so that people would be more aware of these lesser-known creatures. What a wonderful way to call attention to the oft-overlooked critters, especially the bugs. Ant lions are a dragonfly-like insect that make a hole in the dirt and lays in wait to capture prey (ants) that fall in.
While there are no ant lions in L'arbe du Vent, there are these small creatures:

Gorgeous dinner look! Thank you so much for the fun hosting last week!
Such lovely and soothing blues and greens on display - calls to mind the seaside. Congrats on your new acquisitions!
Thank you for kicking off the week! Seems like another relatively easy one to find matches for. Love that Méditerranée.
Another one!!! Gosh this is a stunning cw, you both are making a strong case for it.
A perfect spring offering! That is a very cool sweater indeed and the scarf coordinates superbly. Hummingbirds are one of my favorites also, tho owls are really my ‘spirit bird.’
