I will try calling customer service, thank you for the advice. My current store is not so good and always packed with tourists, but they are building a brand new store super close to me -like 5 minutes away. I’m excited, DH not so much, lol
How very exciting about your new boutique! I don’t live anywhere near a boutique which is probably good :lol:as I do quite well without one nearby . When I am seeking an ‘elusive’ (my creative noun-making :giggle:), I’m not above calling any number of locations. And the SAs are always so nice and helpful.

This is my first post in 2023. Have been a bit absent from SOTD in 2022 but hoping to be more active this year. Have really been enjoying the thread so far and seeing all your beautiful scarves!!

Earlier this year (of end of last...?) I acquired the The Royal Mews - Buckingham Palace in pink. It is one that I felt I really had to have in my collection to honor one of the biggest H (Horses and Hermès) lovers of them all: Queen Elizabeth. The scarf was placed on the saddle of her Fell pony Emma during the funderal procession.

One article writes: "It was designed by Jean de Fougerolle and was released as part of the Year of the Horse for Hermes. It was presented to Her Majesty at the 1993 Windsor Horse Show, which was known to be one of her favourite events in the royal calendar."

What looks like the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom (If anyone here knows better, please let me know if this is correct or not!) can also be found in one of the corners of the Harnais de Cour by LeDoux. The original design was first issued in 1977, so it in fact older than the Royal Mews. The one I have I believe is from 2017. I can't find any explanation as to why it is a part of the design of this scarf.

One website describes the story behind the design as follows:
"Two horses have trotted off leaving their harnesses behind... Outstanding craftsmen put all their skills into making these ceremonial harnesses regularly used in France until the mid-19th century but afterward reserved for sovereigns and galas. In the days when French was the language of the court in many European countries, harnesses of the court were referred to as “à la française”. How could it be otherwise? Manes plaited with silk or trimmed with velvet ribbons decorated with tassels and embroidery called palatine, metal or braid rosettes, gleaming blinkers, leather hand-sewn by master saddlers… It is easy to imagine how fine they looked in their caparisons, led by men who watched over their gait and their passengers – grooms, postilions, and other helpers. Decked in cloth, metal, and leather, every step echoed with the lively clap of horseshoes on the ground and the tinkling of buckles engraved with the family’s arms. By two, six, or eight, great attention was paid to the horses’ appearance for every one of these outings!"

If anyone has some more information on the designs of these two scarves I would be delighted to hear more about it!

Edit: I realised after posting this that there is a Royal SOTD coming up in May. Might reuse the Royal Mews that week as it so fitting for that theme! Even try to find more information about it until then...

On this same subject, the detailed illustrations of artists/naturalists such as Dallet, Honore and more recently Alice Shirley ; I’m glad I have these treasures in my tansu. Compared to those of Marsal and Guzman line illustrations, they do add a richer and impressive printing heritage that is missing more recently. Having said that, I do love Marsal’s Pivoines, La Cite and Fauborg Tropical for their architectural rendering style.

Edited to add a post script: how silly of me to say I only have one scarf with depiction of 24 St Honore. I have what is probably their newest - Objets de Curiosite. Which I am wearing today for a lunch date. Mod shot coming up!

I’m so sorry that you’ve been ill, Xincinsin, and I hope you are on the mend. Love your three Mineraux and your cw of Pierres et Cristaux is stunning. I’m glad you brought out your ELs, which are all wonderful (EL Globetrotter!). This is a design that never stops giving and, as you nicely demonstrated, continues to definitely feeds the imagination. In addition to my Ex Libris en Cravate maxi-twilly cut, which I showed earlier, here are others in my collex. Sisters with EL Atlantis.
Ex Libris Bandana, my first.

The CSGMs are really stunning, Croisette, but that colorful, little gav steals my small format-loving heart.
Thank you so much, Karenska ... and here is mine:

Soeaking of clouds rb, here is “Priéres au Vent” (Prayers in the Wind) is one of the earlier works of Dimitri Rybaltchenko designed for the Spring Summer Collection of 1996 and re-issued for the fall winter collection 1997. In fall 2001, it was issued as GM CS. “Buddhist pilgrims who armed with prayer wheels (visible at the four corners of the scarf) walk in procession around a stupa, the sacred monument which houses holy relics and whose complex architecture, dominated by the hemisphere, symbolizes the Elements. Up there in the clouds eagles also circle, gliding above the peaks, which point like Truth towards Heaven, and above the monasteries, from which emanates the quiet murmuring of meditation and asceticism.” (from Hermès Scarf Booklet Spring 1996).

Couldn’t resist showing off that cute pup prancing.:)
This is an exquisite design, lanit. I've often considered adding it to my collection, but like you, I seem to be at (actually, past) my scarf storage limit.

This is so gorgeous!
Thank you, dear moma!
Good morning, Scarflandia. Following up on yesterday's beautiful Early America posted by @Croisette7, I thought I would post my recent acquisition today. I tied it to show two features: George and Martha Washington and the incredible border. This scarf was not on my radar in any serious way until I began looking at Costume de Fete and thinking about Folkloric designs. I had Zabavushka in my collection from early on but that was the extent of it. A friend then posted a beautiful Early America CSGM and I became intrigued last fall and decided to add this iconic design. This scarf pays homage to the young America: it features a beautiful, naïve rendition of George and Martha Washington surrounded by a variety of animals, foliage and children…the patterns of the border are inspired by the American folk art of paper cutting or “carnivet”.

So glad you finally found your colour, LKB!

beautiful parade Croisette, and of course you would have the colorway that started my hunt for Galop Volant! Brava!❤️

Thank you lanit .... I admire your yellow special edition sooo much!
This is fantastic with your smocked top @MAGJES.

It is pristine, amazingly @Lellabelle and thank you.

I *need* to find a Brandenburgs for my collection @Nhare! Love your surteint version...

Happy to help always @EtsyBoss!

Beautiful both. I hope your mother lets you borrow it sometimes @Maedi! What a nice daughter you are. Your Clair de Lune is gorgeous on you.

Yes thank you @Nhare! I am on a mission to collect 7 1953 designs. I started with Plumes which is so beautiful and timeless and Carrick a Pompe reissue with its cute border and now this delightful Mail Coach which was a very happy surprise.

Thank you @Maedi! It turns out that I am twins with @Croisette7 and @momasaurus and I truly miss @turfnsurf on this thread. Her vintage collections and tremendous knowledge were so helpful and fun...

Oh, please don't get rid of all the black @Nomad. I disagree that it is horrible on you but now you have a beautiful closet of scarves for black to be a useful background and the scarves a buffer with your lovely coloring and gorgeous hair!

Oh you poor thing @xincinsin. I hope you feel better soon. Sending good wishes. This is a wonderful display and especially like your Glitch-- so rare and fun to see! And of course, ELeK!!!

Thank you so very much @Karenska-- it is one I learned from @MAGJES -- not sure what it is called. I'll see if it is on the tutorial thread and post a link.

The one that started me on the hunt for this design that totally captured my heart @Croisette7! Love it on your argyle sweater.

I have that madras bandana because of you @Karenska! Love this parade of Ex Libirs variations.

Wonderful to see these to compare @Croisette7. The large format a la Plume is so lovely too in its more abstract rendition...

I am in awe of your always breathtaking photos @lanit! Because I live on th ebeach half the year I too had to collect these designs! Twins on the Daulat and Chemins and sisters on Reve de Corail. Treasured pieces all.

Such a beautiful array of silks @lanit-- I am delighted to be twins on the bright and charming Mountain Zebra and the lovely Pivoines, as well as sisters on several. Like you, I love the artistic designs that highlight or hone in closely on beautiful natural subjects but also like you, I have made a place for all kinds of designs and cherish them. This season there is a new and lovely Annie Faivre in double face format! (not to enable or entice :graucho: )

I have the Equateur Maxi Twilly Cut @lanit-- a favorite and an addition to the beautiful blue wash 90. I wish I had your discipline to avoid duplication of loved designs! Here's a thumbnail of the MT Cut-- it is a very lovely and useful format...

Many thanks for your sweet comments ... your Maxi Equateur is tdf!

If anyone has an reissued Equateur or Au Couer de la Vie to contrast with the above, please feel free to post. Once I have a design, I rarely invest in reissue to avoid duplication unless its a different colorway or format such as Samourais or Mythiques Phoenix. :graucho:
My first Hermès scarf was a vintage Equateur. The long care tag likely places it at least to the 1990s, so maybe it is a 1988 original issue. The blue wash scarf was a recent reissue. Some printing differences are undoubtedly due to the different colorways, but it still seems that the original issue has more detail. Certainly, the leaves along the edge of the scarf have been trimmed in the reissue.

The Equateur wash is a reedition. The ACdlV are from 2017.
