As soon as I even begin to think of spring I pull out my „marinière look“! Red, white and blue is my most worn combination at this time of the year. So definitely neutrals!
Today my Méditerranée together with ntm Lift pendant in white, which was a gift from DH to my birthday yesterday! I am introducing the @bunnycat method of buying presents to be hidden for special occasions! Very efficient ;) In addition I got an Annie Faivre „Terres Précieuses“ :love:View attachment 5739819
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I trust you had a wonderful day!

Moving kind of backwards this morning (haven't read yesterday's posts!). SOTD today is most definitely a neutral. It could have joined in Sleeping Beauty week because it has languished for a time. I wore it often when I first got it (under the potent influence of lovely Mai Tai) but mostly only with cream or black. Looking at it again with fresh eyes, I realize that the neutrals are not so easy to combine so I took a page out of @Redbirdhermes' color philosophy and looked for another color in the design. The blue/grey in the peppers reminds me a tiny bit of my Jardin a Sintra so I paired it with a dark "peacock" blue. Also showing the camel pairing for contrast... What do y'all think? What color top would you wear?

Both work, but your smile in the picture with the camel top tells me this one has the edge ;)

Denim blue is another color that I find can be worn with every other color in my wardrobe, making it a useful neutral. One of the things I liked about this colorway of Le Carnaval des Animaux is that it is filled with many favorite neutrals. Blue jean, khaki green, beige, tan, brown, sand and gray dominate this scarf. I am so not a black and white neutrals gal.

Of course, this scarf pairs well with my various neutral tops. I’m wearing it with light gray today. Note that my camera turns the gray a shade bluer than it actually is. Pearls are from Fiji. Le Carnaval des Animaux is my scarf of the day.

Charm de Orphee.. the subdued side. I just love this scarf / design / designer so much. Alice Shirley is a magician! This week is off to a great start, no broken things, no spilled coffees. This week's theme is all about taking it down a notch to enjoy the less complicated things both in silk and in life. I can embrace that!

View attachment 5739830
Love this one, and this colourway is sublime! It’s so good on the cream sweater!

Love this combo! The warm toned grey is so versatile, I would think this goes with everything ;). The teal hem is stunning and these colours are SO flattering on you! @LKBNOLA

It really is, especially at this time of year! I know the phone camera ‘corrects’ colour and light balance automatically too, which probably emphasizes the effect. The biggest difference is actually in the boutique: in my rare visits I find the lighting so yellow that it is actually very misleading for how it will look outside.
Thank you @Lellabelle and I am TIA on the boutique lighting. One boutique that I am lucky to shop at (often with a scarfie friend  ) has beautiful large windows and natural light. It helps so much...
For years I wore khaki pants several times a week, with about every color top that I owned. A true neutral and probably my favorite neutral color. I picked up this silk medium Blason losange in kaki last year thinking that it would also go with just about everything.

View attachment 5738978

Today I'm pairing it with similar neutrals, that I think of as being on more of the olive green or brown side. They are two of my other favorite neutral colors.

View attachment 5738981
I love these luscious rich colors @Redbirdhermes -- the green border is TDF. Gorgeous neutrals!
Wore La Selle Imaginaire yesterday....to me it's pretty much a neutral.

View attachment 5739000
I feel exactly the same about my CSGM @mktlim -- the cw is different but the design seems to lend itself to neutral ith the graphics and border etc when in muted cws.
I figure a good approach to finding your best neutral scarf in the scarf drawer is to look for the one that goes with the maximum number of pieces in your closet. So here’s my workhorse neutral, today gallantly protecting my complexion from washout by my nicely tailored but pallor-producing asymmetrical blazer.

I could not love this look more on you @Teaforparrots!
Twins with you on this! I LOVE this CW of Sintra - one of the most beautiful Annie Faivre's designs!
I agree-- it is a gorgeous one. My favorite of her "jardins" @Ashanti_Rose -- would love to see you model yours...
Lovely lovely look - beautiful colors
(and :roflmfao: over "Let me count the grays"!)
Monday Monday
Can’t stop that day.
It’s so graaa - yay
I can’t go out and play.
What else can I do to be useful
But wear a BEE-you-TEE-ful
Black and gray - yay!

It's the first time that I see Sintra in this cw. Perfect with your green cachemire
Thank you @Coco2606!!!
I mean, it is a pretty scarf and a great combination.
But how? Just how?
 I love this post @HoneyLocks and everything about your "purple" look. Your Cheval Phoenix (right?) is gorgeous!!! As for "how" -- I will try to post a link on the how to page... (I think that's what you meant!?)
Hahahaaaa!!! :roflmfao:

(Not as soft as an H scarf… :giggle:)
OMG. :roflmfao:  -- you are too funny. There is a Surrealist exercise of cutting up words from a newspaper, dropping them in a paper bag and pulling them out at random to make a poem, but I have never seen a paper bag scarf! You have accepted the challenge and mastered it @Cookiefiend!
This couldn't be a more perfect combo!
A couple recent neutrals for this week.

Jin et Leo pareo has a lot of neutral colors in it with the brown, beige and black. Luckily for me, it is also offset by some bright green and pink. It does go with a variety of things in my closet, especially neutral tops.

Cavalcadour Fleuri in the Gris Chine' colorway is one of my go to neutral based CSGMs

View attachment 5739498
Thank you @bunnycat-- love both of these looks on you. Your Cavalcadeur Fleuri is gorgeous.
This is not an apparent neutral wigh its orange border but the blues and greens go well with my wardrobe.View attachment 5739527
Oh it is perfect @Maedi and I think sometimes a bright border serves to emphasize the neutrals in the center. So glad you found this one!
See, look what you did… :graucho:

 Y'all are having waaaaaaaay too much fun with this sight gag @Lellabelle!
I adore how the lighter accents reflect your hair. Very harmonious.
Thank you so much-- one of the lesser indignities of the aging process has been to embrace the white hair @Maedi!
Just to keep it on theme, lots of grey and white, and even a dose of light blue for today’s neutral entry. I love this one, and I totally baby it. Not an ideal pairing with the pink but I didn’t have time to change, or style this as it deserves. Grand Prix du Faubourg. Sisters with @Redbirdhermes who has the beautiful purple version, I think?

View attachment 5739697
Wow, this is gorgeous. I am your sister too, but this is supremely elegant and the hem is TDF @Lellabelle!
Good morning. We did establish that grey and kakhi are neutrals right? Even though they come in spots?
And am I right in thinking that I am not the only one who reach for this particular scarf when dressing for a day of heavy meetings and tricky agendas? It just adds that little bit of necessary leopard-power to get you through…
Wish you all a lovely day!

View attachment 5739704
Power meeting, power look and most definitely a power scarf (with just enough sass!) @HermesEchidna!
This scarf remains an enigma for me. I bought it precisely because it doesn't look like anything I have, kind of neutral in comparison. I've thought about parting with it, but every time it works its magic, I keep it.

Definitely not in your usual color wheel @Coco2606. I am wondering about pairing it with a bright green? It is so pretty...
Scattered letters twilly in kind of a neutral green khaki paired with camel jacket.

Love this look @FizzyWater. I have only recently embraced twillies to wear and I plan to copy this look!
So glad to hear you are feeling better dear @LKBNOLA! And congrats to your wonderful bestiary! I have recently become your scarf-sister with the Favolosa. It has been on my wishlist ever since I first laid eyes on it! I was looking for the double sided with the blue and pink beasts, but only found them for extremely high prices. Some weeks ago I found one in new condition with pricetag a lot under retail! So it could also have joined last weeks theme.
Wow dear @LKBNOLA! I haven’t seen this CW before! It is gorgeous!
Congratulations to you @Katharina Luise -- cannot wait to see your Favolosa, it was high on my wish list for a long time, too. And thank you!

Absolutely perfect look in every possible way @Katharina Luise -- love this. Beautiful pendant and happy belated birthday to you! :hugs: (Soon we will see the new scarf too, yes?) and good training of DH. Many of us have adopted @bunnycat's "SGV"

How gorgeous @EtsyBoss and what a lovely sentiment about neutrals -- I recently read somewhere that it is important not to equate peacefulness with boredom-- a useful reminder in our hyper-stimulated world! Which Orphee cw is this? I think we are twins but the lighting is making me perplexed... Note to self: looks fab on creamy white...

This is perfect tied as a tie! And a great neutral too.

A wonderful introduction into this neutrals week dear @Cookiefiend! And I am so curious to find out what everyone‘s definition of neutral is! First I was only thinking about the usual suspects as beige and grey. But of course scarfie-definition must be something else ;) I love all your examples!

So glad to hear you are feeling better dear @LKBNOLA! And congrats to your wonderful bestiary! I have recently become your scarf-sister with the Favolosa. Not your usual look, but very beautiful! And your pearls always are the cherry on top!

I hope this week has gone a lot better dear @EtsyBoss! Your Faubourg definitely is one of the most beautiful scarves I know! Love it!

Absolutely gorgeous dear @Ashanti_Rose!

I agree dear @Teaforparrots! Red and purple by our definition are neutrals!

Dear @Coco2606 and dear @Lellabelle: As I just wrote to Teaforparrots, purples are now defined as scarfie-neutrals! ;) And I love your scarves

I recently thought Twillys are not my thing, but your Liberté leads me to reconsider dear @CedarWaxWing

Beautiful and a very good match for a lot of lot of colors dear @HermesEchidna!

Twins with you on this one dear @Coco2606! Wonderful with your skintone. I also love mine so much

A wonderful silk for spring and summer dear @paula24jen!

Wow dear @LKBNOLA! I haven’t seen this CW before! It is gorgeous!

I like this very much dear @Redbirdhermes! It is a „relaxed Chic“!

Beautiful dear @mktlim!

And it works beautifully dear @Teaforparrots!

Your posts always make me crack over dear @Cookiefind! But anyway Les Bateaux are gorgeous:love:

Beautiful dear @bunnycat! Neutral but also very fresh! Love it

So pretty dear @Maedi!

Such a beauty dear @@Lellabelle!

Happy birthday dear @Katharina Luise ! A classic look indeed and the lift pendant is super with it!

:presents:

Welcome to the @bunnycat scarf gift vault method! It is indeed a revelation. I will caution that it’s also expensive, as apparently it gives permission to acquire pretty silks well in advance (I am already set for my next few birthdays!)

Looking forward to seeing your Terres Précieuses
Indeed and add on an enabling DH to make it a little more so, knowing that the vault is for special occasions tends to make at least some of the pieces higher budget items...
