Wowza. Wowza. Such grails!!
Congratulations! Huge. :faint:
And love hearing about your whispering banned together family who managed to surprise you
Wow, these are grails indeed. The grailiest. I LOVE all of these! I was so excited for you when you shared these with us: your hauntingly beautiful Shackleton, your magical night garden and the stunning Femme. Your joy and appreciation for them is palpable and they couldn’t have found a better home.

MANY congratulations on this milestone year, superb silks to honour it, and yes, special Oscarfs are in order for DH and DD!
Thank you both @Nomad and @Lellabelle. I am feeling very fortunate with my "specials" and my grails for sure. Its a unique joy when collecting goals click into place after long anticipation...
Dear Scarfies, This year has been like a roller coaster in a teenager’s first love drama series. It kicked off with a first purchase in May, reminding me of that awkward but unforgettable first kiss. Since then, my scarf collection has grown frenetically. I hope my love for scarves matures soon for the sake of my wallet 😆. Initially, I was quite apprehensive about venturing into the second-hand market. But now, like many of you, I find myself eagerly checking my saved searches daily, always on the lookout for that next unique find. Of all the special items I’ve brought home this year from the resale market, there are a few that stand out, capturing my heart more than the rest. These scarves, which I’m happy to share with you, are my personal Oscarf nominees for Best Sound. Each one, upon its debut around my neck, unleashed a series of magical ‘WOWs’ out of pure admiration and excitement 🥰

I'm missing some other special ones, but since I'm traveling, I'm sharing these from the archives.

Ok, I have to echo the astonishment of every scarfie here that you have accomplished all this since May @SilkCouture! Just amazing-- truly spectacular, in fact. I nominate you for the Oscarf for Warp Speed Grail Gathering, Best Supporting Styling and a Special Effects Lighting Award for Radiant Smile. Delighted to be twins on the PdS (12) and Jaguar Quetzal.
The Oscarf for Best Adapted Silk (aka Inspired by tPF)

Metamorphoses - saw one gracing the neck of an SA and loved the weirdness of it all but not the all gray look, then saw @Maedi modeling this colorway. Was delighted when this popped up on a resale site
View attachment 5924432

Voyage de Pytheas - have always admired the borders but I think it was @Karenska who highlighted details of the narwhal and orcas and bears that pushed me to hit the buy button
View attachment 5924433
How fantastic that you found that Metamorphoses @Snausages! I love all of these-- if you hear stealthy noises in the night, it will just be me swooning over your Pytheas and possibly trying to abscond with it -- that is my favorite of all the borders!
Some scarf designs are harder to find than others. Here are a few hard-to-find scarves that entered my collection this year.

Les Bains D'Hermes - Both Blue and Green

This is a tough one, but I'm giving the Oscarf for Hard-to-Find Scarves to Photosynthese. These beauties were apparently a pandemic victim and never made it to any H website for sale. I especially like the delicate peony flower petal renderings by Theo de Gueltzl on the yellow colorway.

Gorgeous in this cw @Redbirdhermes-- this was a difficult scarf to track down and totally worth the effort! Your pearls are perfection with it. I am your blue sister.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and kind comments! This thread is also going to be a lesson in advanced tpf-ing as I look back through for the instructions on how to multiquote reply. But it will be a happy search going back through the beautiful photos from the last few weeks.
You will get the hang of it soon enough @piperdog. I had a long learning curve at first and now I don't remember how not to do it!

Nearing the end of this wonderful week, it is time for my Oscarf Awards for the year's new season scarves. The nominees for Best Actress in a Starring Role in 90 Silk Twill for the Spring Summer Season 2023 are:
Legende Brodee, the most stunning blues; Cheval Mirage, a striking design; Costume de Fete, a folkloric wonder
View attachment 5924239View attachment 5924441View attachment 5924245
And the winner is ... Tulipomanie! This is my third colorway of this magnificent design. While I do own other multiples, I have never before this season bought three of any one design at one time! I was utterly captivated by the beauty of Aline Honore's amazing artistry.

Most Vibrant CSGM: Rayures d'Ete; Loveliest Landscape: Retour a la Nature; Best Boat Ride: Ferry Tales

And the winner for Outstanding Performance goes to the CSGT Bal de Soie, the most delightful composite scarf!

Dear LKB - I also got a second Tulipomanie (the white one, but the bright version) and I would agree - it is a beautiful scarf, and probably one of the stand out designs for H. It suits you so well in all of its CWs!

Your mod shots are fabulous! I love how you pick jewelry and tops for all of your scarves - everything is sooo appropriate and tasteful, the knots are perfectly executed - all around five star! And have I mention that you look beautiful in all of them (perfect hair, beautiful make-up, ever present smile). I love looking at your mod shots and they are an inspiration to me - and I have picked up a few knotting ideas from you too! Please, please keep them coming!

WOW wow. Both are so perfect for you! That orange tulip is chefs kiss. Which design is your csgm? Look at those colors on you

One thing that these following silks have in common is that I already owned each design in another CW. Though I love each of these designs and was happy with my CWs, these are all a CCP of sorts since I feel that these newins work for me just a little bit better. So my Oscarf to CCPs of 2023 goes to all of them:

Each and every one is amazing. I am kicking myself for passing on the Fleurs cw. It’s what I get for trying to stick to rules. That plains does glow marvelously
Lookit lookit! ;-) It's Les Sangles. Apparently not in particular demand on the resale market - I saw a couple in this colorway at reasonable prices. Which is great for me!! When it's fully unfurled it's BRIGHT but you know I like it like that ;-)

And now for my Oscarf for best Fall Winter 23 design:

La Vallée de Cristal 🦄

I bought the green and silver colorways and already regret returning the pink and orange ones… this design did not speak to me much when I first saw it but I love the vibrant colours and the easy way this design ties.

Because of the bad lighting nowadays I am posting archive shots ( and I did remove the tag since then 😊)

( I still hope to see this design pop up one the sites worldwide for those that did not manage to order it yet)

2023 was a Three-Grail Year for me and each of them deserves its own award. I have made a "photo montage" of the winners. Everyone kept asking what I wanted for such a milestone birthday year. "Oh, just some scarves," I innocently replied. But DH and DD get honorary Oscarfs for attentive listening, excellent organization and follow-through and very creative timing as I never knew which was in the wrapped box I was being given...It was a lot of silky fun and a joy to receive these coveted and now cherished pieces.

Oscarf for Holy Grail of the Year: Hommage a l'Explorateur Sir Ernest Shackleton

But my actual SOTD is a recent acquisition from the AS 23 season which leads me to add a new category to my 2023 Awards.
Oscarf for Best Full Length Feature in the Bandana Category: Zoaves et Dragons CSGM and Oscarf for Best Short Feature: Chorus Stellarum
View attachment 5923184View attachment 5923186
What wonderful birthday gifts, love all of them! Amd your Zouaves is outstanding, LKB!
What a very sweet thing to say @Lellabelle-- this place is magic because we all pay it forward. I feel the same about a host of scarfies here. In fact, Oscarfs all around! Or rather, a round of Oscarfs-- on the house!

Beautiful finds @mktlim -- you enabled me to finally go for Royal Mews this year, too and your Ballade de Heian is wonderful!

I have indeed @Snausages and an Oscarf to you for helping make it so with long distance enablement of all kinds!

I love all of these (and your Oscarf-worthy smile!) but you look like you are having a blast in Sweet Dreams @Snausages...

I feel exactly the same @Maedi-- I cannot get enough of them-- they are nested in my heart with their distinct personalities. In researching the life of the "animalier artist" who could paint creatures with such beauty and tenderness, I learned a fun fact about his later life which may appeal to our Royals fans: "Perhaps the apotheosis of his career was being called to England in 1958 to paint Queen Elizabeth II on horseback, and Prince Charles and Princess Anne, each with their pony. He also painted the Belgian King Baudoin and Queen Fabiola." (internet source: Hermes Scarves Co UK)

This is a great parade of winners @hermes Echidna. Truly. Twins on Robe du Soir and sisters on the rest, all favorites. What a good year!

Thank you @monteverdi!

Truth. Always a good strategy @paula24jen !

Both are simply stunnning on you @Croisette7. I adore this design in CSGM-- such gorgeous corners and of course the scene is beyond compare. Your new orange one is a true tonal beauty...

Congratulations on your detective work and its Oscarf-worthy result @Jacq1!
Thank you so much, dear!
TYSM @bunnycat aka My Pareo Muse @Lellabelle (does MrBelle have any available brothers???) @Nomad to whom I owe a DM @Marta_K @paula24jen (I see TP twillies everywhere and am happy to DM you both when I see them if you wish!) @Jereni whose scarf drawer overlaps significantly with mine

Beautiful silks @HermesEchidna and love what you do with CdA rings!

Delighted to twin with you on anything @Croisette7 and I am not only wowed by your GTNs but that super cool bracelet in the last photo… wherever did you find that??!!

Love this design as well @Jacq1 and I too inadvertently got a dupe 😥

Ermagerd! @LKBNOLA you truly had a spectacular year! You and @Living.la.vida.fifi are making me reallllly want that CS!

Both are amazing on you!
Wow!! Those colors are amazing - congratulations on finding this beauty!

Bwahahahahahaaa!
Somehow I manage to find all the ways one can get into trouble with a scarf and the vacuum… who here remembers when I got mine sucked into the vacuum while I was wearing it? That was a doozy!

(after writing that I did, and, do think that perhaps the vacuum has it out for me…)

Both are so beautiful but the pink really sings to me!!

Fantastic - it is a beautiful design!

Wowwwww :faint:
Fabulous … gorgeous… stunning… all the superlatives apply!

Congratulations NinaKT!! These are beautiful!

Hahahaaaa - Sorry?
Thanks sweetie - we should go hunting together!

Love! If I had a GCR I would be *so* tempted to wear it so that all those silly faces would show!
Thank you, Cookie!
I love the moussies - love love love - and I do search for them. Every day.

So - as you might guess - a few deserve Oscarfs!

Pretty woman ... in both moussies!
Today I’m going with a category for Most Ingenious Colorway - scarves with colorways that just make you go ‘wow!’

First up is Hermes Factory… the combo of lavender, pink, and cheerful apricot/peach is just SO GOOD. Plus the vivid pink border! Be still my heart.

View attachment 5923636

Second, Hermes Story. Twins with many of you… I don’t know where they came up with this pairing of brown/beige/copper and the vivid/seductive blue but it is the chef’s kiss of all chef kisses.

View attachment 5923637

And lastly, a new-in, Voyages en Etoffes. Periwinkle, orange, orangey-red, and pink… absolutely obsessed with it. Also my SOTD.

View attachment 5923638

Admittedly none of these are from 2023 seasons, but I acquired them this year.
So chic, as always, Jereni, wonderful colours on you!
Like many of you, when I thought of “Oscarf” I thought of Tulipomanie! I have the white one as well, but immediately thought specifically of this happy bright orange version.

View attachment 5924146

It was cold on the deck when I took the photo - there were even a few flakes of snow just for a few moments there! Enter the shawl I ordered in December (but just received). I’m not sure if it’s eligible for an Oscarf but if so, I’m pretty sure it wins in the Best Colorway for Me, Pretty Much Ever category!
View attachment 5924150
Twins on the tulips, and congrats on your great Sangles, Tea!
“Sublime” is the only fitting word that comes to mind… Sigh…

Welcome to SOTD! Great post and I hope you will join us again soon! Kuna is one of my a treasured designs, and yours is an amazing CW

It’s such a great design and, that deer family is just precious!

Such delightful, soft beauties! La Voliere’s jacquard is exquisite

Oh, but yours is also a dream!

A striking design and so beautifully presented

It is fantastic!

An amazing post from top to bottom… Congrats on owning these fabulous silks… The Into the Canadian Wild blew me away

It is marvelous and you wear it so well!

It is fabulous

Agree… It is such a striking design! Perhaps I should’ve added another CW… Yours are divine!

Oh you style them all masterfully! Love each one, but especially the Leonhardi on which we twin and is my favorite 70cm of them all… But that Madison Party gets me every time

They are fabulous silks

Such a striking design and each of these CWs had a completely different vibe

Agree that it is an amazing design… So glad you found this onw!

What an amazing post! Your three Grails are magnificent! Loving your Oscarfs categories! That Chorus Stellarum in “our” CW is a gem!

Ohmigosh Congrats! Simply amazing finds!

Styled to perfection

Such a delightful design and so beautiful on you!

It is such a great one!

Sigh! My heart is with the moussies as well and these are incredible!

Oh my! All three are amazing! You wear them beautifully

Great one!

Live them all on you, but must say that my fav is the Parade en Fanfare.
This is such a great design that it shines in every CW and every format, but you chose well with this striking CW

Agree with you about Tulipomanie… I find myself staring at it from time to time. Adore your CW and that shawl is glorious!
Thank you so much, fifi!
