Good morning, Scarfies. Not going anywhere yet, but wanted to share a recent photo of my newest GT, On a Summer's Day. I know that not everyone loves this format but I find them wonderful in their own way-- sometimes they keep frigid a/c at bay and sometimes they help with drafty rooms and often, they just look nice and are less bulky to wear: less than a shawl but more than a scarf! Like a Goldilocks Scarf, it is sometimes "just right"...

I have a home in the mountains above Palm Springs and DH and I go down the mountain for dinner quite often. I know the scarf isn't meant to represent Palm Springs, but I can't help but think of it whenever I wear it. I think it's the architecture, palm trees, skates, and pool that do it for me. Rayures d'Ete was my SOTD. I ended up wearing the cowboy knot so I could show a little pink. (Flat photo from the internet below.)

I can absolutely see how this is the perfect Palm Springs scarf! I’ve admired this design many times.

I love it, and I'm glad you found it 😍 . I read that this particular colorway of Voyage en Étoffes was part of a limited edition.

Ooh, it is? That’s exciting, it would be my first limited edition if so!!!

Uh oh. Dont know how this happened. Will share later.

I feel you… happened to me yesterday too. Those orange bags just throw themselves at you out of nowhere…

Yay for all the Retour a la Nature love today!! Happy to be sisters with many of you! Were we sharing the same dream last night to reach for this today?

It is a gorgeous piece @MabelJo-- it look like you and I made sister/twin choices in the SS23 season!
@LKBNOLA and @Snausages: Here’s the tutorial, tried to recreate as best I can.

1. Gather 1 cashmere-silk (100 or 140), 1 smaller format silk (45 or 60), and 1 hair tie

2. Start by accordian-folding the smaller format silk

3. Wrap around neck, slightly off center, and secure ends with hair tie

4. Fold the CS using the bias fold technique

I am so happy to see a twin on this happy and vibrant CSGM @MabelJo! I love Jadim's work and I think this is the perfect summer shawl-- I don't mean summer in the season sense but in the vibe it creates. I wore mine everywhere last summer in many many ways (shrug, wrap, top, pareo) a truly fun and useful piece. I have a similar feeling about what the scene reminds me of as I grew up in tropical countries. That's a beautiful area you live in!
I do not think I have ever seen this one @Croisette7-- it is stunning! The center colors-- the greens, pinks, etc are fabulous!

Just going to show some love and solidarity with my Retour sisters and twins and with @MabelJo on Rayures d'Ete! Happy Friday, Scarflandia-- can't believe it is almost 2024...

Good afternoon!
Prompted to post this rather fast by @Jereni and @LKBNOLA (and I Think also enabled by both - and sisters?) here is my surprise sotd.

I went to the local H today with an Old friend who tried on every scarf in the boutique. I on the other hand stayed on my virtuos path of near-abstinence and only claimed a preordered carre I have been looking at for a while and wanted to get before the dreaded annual prize increase.
But, guess what then happened? A certain double sided scarf of jolly leopards (abbreviated ‘double jeopardys’? ) jumped at me and insisted on following me home. I Think I have to let Them stay….

Both sides now:

We ended up being served champagne and the SA took our photos and showered us with perfume samples etc and Then we left, both with new lovely scarves. I swear I did not plan this!!!
The other purchase will appear in here soon as well - now I will go and put my visa in running cold water and Then feed the leopards.

Wish you all an orange Day!!

Beautiful addition @Jereni

This absolutely drives the gloomies away @scarf1

Oooooh I’ve always wondered about the 45cm cashmeres! This is charming (no pun intended with the scarf ring)

Such beautiful brights @orchard

Speedy recovery @Marta_K - your shawls need you!

I miss the days when there were 90cm cashmeres!

Thank you, Snausages, and totally agree on the 90s. You have a wonderful collection of them!

I have not participated much and am behind because I try to limit use of my phone during the holidays. But seeing all of you here from time to time is wonderful 😍

I love CSGM, in fact my GTN shawl was my first ever H item and I have since added 3 more shawls and 2 triangles. I love my CSGM and wear them almost daily. Although you have seen them repeatedly here I could not not participate this week.

I am travelling now, so I made a little collage of my 6 pieces (GTN, La Selle Imaginaire, Botanica Grafica, Retour à la nature and 2 Bal de Soie triangles)

Hoping to add a lot more in the future 😁

View attachment 5919378View attachment 5919389
You have chosen wonderful ones, your Bal de soie triangles are great cw’s. Safe travels! And kudos for limiting your screen time.

Le jaguar et le colibri today on a drizzly day. Twins with @LKBNOLA and @EtsyBoss. The oatmeal background first threw me off but is now growing on me.

It’s splendid!

What a fabulous piece to find under the Christmas tree! A dramatic snd striking CW of a very special design… Congrats!

It is so vibrant and eye-catching! I can see how kids would be drawn to it

Rushing out the door to help preparing for traditional family x-mas all-Day lunch at my Mother-in-law’s. Pickeled herring and schnaps and assortment of pork-related foodstuff will be plentiful, so I will not need a warm scarf, but will try to stay cool with my new Colliers de chiens. Tomorrow will be a Day of recovery..:drinks:

Fabulous CW

Great pics!

Styled to perfection

You are visiting the doctors in the utmost style… Just love this on you!

What a fabulous pairing with the bangle!

Subtle elegance!

What a gorgeous and very varied collection of triangles! Love them all, but my eyes are drawn to the cobalt Bal de Soie, though the Folklore is super cool

So incredibly beautiful

Congrats! It is gorgeous! And ties so well

Such a beauty! Love it with that cardigan

Oh my! That clochette is just adorable!

Each one more beautiful than the next… What a glorious collection!

Blown away… an exquisite collectiob of shawls!

These are great and must say that the colors are amazing on you

Simply gorgeous… each one! And thank you for showing the official photos!

I was fairly late in warming up to shawls (pardon the pun) since I live in a tropical climate and couldn’t justify them in my life and collection. However, after I took the plunge, I discovered their versatility and practicality.
I would like to share, in order, my first three shawls… They remain go-to favorites

Thank you, Fifi, and your Zenobie is gorgeous with these colours!

I started with two of my oldest CSGM so today I'm sharing my two newbies! Jaguar Colbri in the beige orange multicolore and the Jaguar Colbri in the navy rouge which just arrived yesterday. They both have the same hot pink trim. I'll share more mod shots of my new navy one in the '23 season thread. I absolutely love this design. The only other of this format (I think) that I doubled up on is the Tyger Tyger which I have in both burgundy and navy/teal. I adore this design!

Both are perfect on you, MabelJo, and completely understand your associations with Rayures d’Eté.

So beautiful in these colours, Croisette!

Thank you to everyone for all the good wishes -- I will be well soon enough and I appreciate the lovely community here and the distraction that scarves, mod shots and fun conversation provide while I am recuperating. And thank you so much for giving my wolf so much love-- he thrives on y'all's approval-- in fact he never met a scarfie he did not want to follow home...

You have a beautiful collection of GTs @Redbirdhermes-- sisters on two and twins on Folklore!

So pretty on you @SilkCouture and such a nice use of the ring! I hope you are having fun on your travels.

Two lovely looks @Jereni and congratulations on your new scarfmail-- that periwinkle blue is lovely and the center of this design is fabulous.

I love this on the pink sweater @scarf1! And I am delighted to be your twin on this wonderful CSGM!

That is a fabulous little find @Agrume-- and it looks just darling with your clochette ring. I never knew they made CS in gav size! (and thank you for your comments and good wishes, too!)

This is a wonderful parade of beautiful GMs @orchard-- I absolutely love that Maharani on your blue jacket!!!

Dear @Marta_K -- I am sorry you are ill and I send my warmest wishes for a speedy recovery so that you can be back to posting mod shots as beautiful as these!

Thank you both @Chanelandco and @HermesEchidna-- you are both making me feel so much better already.

These are both marvelous @Snausages-- separately and together! (and thank you so much :hugs: )

You have assembled an absolutely beautiful collection @redheaddem-- each suits you so perfectly. I can't wait to see it grow!

Ah, but it is so beautiful on you @Maedi-- truly. I am glad you are warming up to it-- especially since it loves you and there is nothing sadder for a scarf than unrequited love... :winkiss: (and thank you for giving me a term for my Awoooo-- "beater shawl" and for the good wishes...)

So beautiful and vibrant @Living.la.vida.fifi -- and three amazing designs. I was totally enabled by you on my blue L'Arbre du Vent. Your ring with that Zenobie is amazing! (and thank you!)

Hello, double twin! Looking fabulous in both these beauties-- congratulations on your "prowl" of jaguars @EtsyBoss!

Thank you, LKBNOLA, and glad you are feeling OK. Your summer Day GT is very cosy, and thank you for sharing the 2 other scarves. So nice to see how individual they become when worn.

Mr Agrume had to laugh when I read him this bit. Congratulations, HermesEchidna, with your Leopards, and I am sure they will complain when they do not get enough neck time, so make sure you wear them often!

Very late to posting this week. I have no cashmere in my collection as of yet, but I had scarf mail and H visits aplenty this month! More later, as there is so much to share… but I think I honestly doubled my collection of 90s!!! Here is a shot of my new Vallee de Cristal (cw 03) that I simply cannot stop wearing. I have a pile of photos of different ties - I’ll post to the FW 2023 thread.

Also a photo of our Christmas Eve menu - it’s a magnetic chalk board now adorned with the strangest little gift from my local H boutique. I thought it was a deer, which would make some sense, but upon closer inspection the animal appears to be a cat?!?! I’ve heard of Jack-a-lopes, but a Cat-a-lope…? Really?? It’s made of very thin leather and silks.

Belated Merry Christmas to all!!!

Hello Scarflandia
I got ill and I am currently dressed in woolen pyjamas and mittens, under two sets of quilts, trying to get warm 🤒. I'm still behind, as I discipline myself not to use my phone too much, but it's so nice to be able to chear meself up by accompanying you from afar, looking at your lovely mod shots in your amazing cashmere eye-candies and reading about your activities in holiday season.
As you imagine, I'm in no mod shots condition, but here's my little contribution for this week with archive shots:
