Scarves Scarf of The Day 2023- Which Hermès scarf are you wearing today?

This design in a non moussie was my first gav. Loved the design but didn't love the random orangish gold bits and gold border so I rehomed it. I don't don't see any gold it in yours. Is it just hidden or is it not in the moussie? I would re purchase this again if I could get one without gold. Yours looks absolutely fabulous!

The border is brown, no gold as far as I can tell. I can take a picture flat of it for you when I get back from my travels on Tuesday if you‘d like

Bonus posting thanks to scarf mail. I found this brand new maxi twilly for a good deal, so I decided to take a look.



It even has a few x's in the design, so on theme for the week.




This is Sangles en Zigzag Fleuries maxi twilly in caban/vert/jaune d'or, CW09, from S/S 2018. This knot is how I wore all my rectangular silk scarves prior to discovering the Hermes squares.



And, here are some gorgeous coppery colored oaks from today's walk.

I adore this scarf but have trouble pairing it with my wardrobe. I don’t like brown on me, so I have felt like color pairing options are limited to blue, white, and gray. Trying green today though and… I think it works? Maybe a slightly different shade of green.

Thanks so much, MabelJo. Plisses, to my thinking, are wonderful. It’s true that one does not see the design well, but they are so pretty and even dramatic, depending on how they are tied. New or like new, the pleats are very tight but they can and do relax, making for even more interesting ties. I am a fan, for sure. Lil Slinkys .

I agree, dear @Karenska. I think some designs look just marvelous in plisse format - depends on the colorway of course and how the design translates into the pleating format. I think you have one plisse People du Vent which is jsut wonderful, if I am not mistaken... I think it is red?? I always admire it when you post a pic of it..

I know you said you don't like brown on you but this whole cw works really well. My mental thought when I saw your photo was, "wow!". How about pairing with one of a slate grey, cream, or navy top/dress?

I should wear mine... I haven't worn it once this year!!

I did that too! So happy we are sisters. I have also a marine/gris chine that my DD has custody of!!! But this one has won my heart with its charming colors...

Yes, I think it is an outstanding design for 140 - has a bit of floral, action, figures, great balance of detail all around, and it doesn't matter how one folds or ties it

I think this scarf is perfect for you. I am quite surprised that you don't like to wear brown - since I think you and I of the similar warm coloring: have you tried to pair it with beige/oatmeal/ light brown? Those colors would be perrrrfect for your hair color!!!

I’m very limited in how I would want to style them and the types of patterns that would work with that - so, fortunately, I don’t have to fall down a gavroche rabbit hole

Aw thank you!!! I like your suggestions. I have a gray/navy dress and will try it with that. I don’t have a cream dress but sounds like something to look into.

Thank you! I have worn it with gray and definitely thought it worked. I don’t have navy tops but I suspect that would work too. Agree on the design, I absolutely love it. There’s another cw in the 70 that I’ve been thinking about.

Thank you! To be clear, the scarf isn’t going anywhere, I absolutely love it. It’s just more of a challenge.

When I say I don’t like brown on me - I love touches of brown in a top or a dress but not usually as a solid color. My skin is very pinky pale and my red hair leans orangish so often I find that most browns just wash me out. I love beige but often I find it has the same effect - most beiges clash with my pinky skin. Prob just need to find the right pinky beige.

hrrmmmm - if this were mine… I’d wear cream, burgundy, dark emerald green, camel,, all shades (50-ish?) of gray, and maybe a rusty red.

its a great color, it’s just kinda lonely in its color... so like what’s it complementary color? Blue is primary, bluegreen/turquoisey/green…. Purply blue, reddish bleu… Imma hafta put my thinking cap on!
