What a lovely theme for this week. We are still having summer weather here, while trees are starting to show a hint of change.

So I just dove into my scarf drawer and pulled details that I feel meet this week's theme.

Rocking horses have been showcased in different scarves with H. Here in both RMLC and Story.

One I will reach for next month is the Triples and their reminder that a city can be a very large playground! And it is fun to play with pigeons... well, we may have to agree to disagree on this one.

Also some games/toys are specific to one's country. A good reminder found in Rd'A with 2 boomerangs used to framed 2 of the corners.

Finally, my cats can find all kinds of "toys" in our backyard. Cave Felem indeed, little critters!

First scarf that came to mind for theme is zabavushka. Particularly the nesting dolls came to mind. I thought I had more from my childhood in my home, but they are still at my parents I guess. This one is on top of one of the bookcases, w my dala horses and other family trinkets. I tried a more subdued look w it today. Last time was a turquoise top.

So...these colors are PERFECT on you.

:faint: what a pairing!! And agree in FULL w magjes below that purple is absolutely your color! And the colors in this scarf are your colors too! Whatever the tone is, it’s perfect On you!

clever girl. Both scarves are stunning together

Ha perfect finds on this scarf. Great tie w pearls

Another clever girl today w hide and seek. Love seeing this color cache. And adorable little having fun

Yes! Wonderful pairing w H gold.

Awesome examples! Sisters on triples. I was going to try to get it on this week.still don’t have anything in my wardrobe I like with mine.
Thank you. It took me a while to find something other than black with my Triples. I have found some reds to work wonderfully. I hope you found that magic color for yours!

I have come to love this scarf with the posts here. Beautiful knots here!

Hahaha you are too funny. To the tormenting scarf at hand ;), this looks even better than yesterdays pictures. Wow!! I am extremely tempted. Truly. And your other two are stunning.

And here is my evening clothing change for drinks and apps. Lella, I tried your necklace knot idea and put it with my ONLY beige neutral ( it’s actually a gold top) in my wardrobe other than an ivory t shirt ha. @bunnycat and @LKBNOLA I also threw on a red lip and gloss. I def dont feel I can pull off this look, but it was fun to try. Red brings out the pink in my skin. Then my daughter stopped dead in her tracks at the sight of my lips haha, and not in a good way :girlsigh: . She has luscious large lips and knows she got the better end of those genetics haha.
You all were a big help. Thanks everyone  . This scarf shines in all its autumn fabulousness against the neutral. The black is away from my face ( it’s just an accent color now) and no black top means my whole look is much calmer. But still get the wow w the dramatic scarf on me.

Count me in as one of those who sobbed when they wanted to burn the velveteen rabbit. And I think I acquired Raconte Moi le Cheval because of the nursery room rocking horse which had been made real a long time ago.

Today, I wore double scarves for the theme: Faubourg by Night and La Patisserie Francaise. Faubourg by Night features a wonderful kaleidoscopic view, and kaleidoscopes were toys which entertained me for hours.

Patisserie reminds me of the local word for both cooking and toys. When we say the Malay word "masak", we refer to cooking as in, "Hey, who is going to masak lunch?". But when we say "masak-masak", we refer to kids playing with toys, especially when they pretend to cook and serve food. I had innumerable made in Hongkong plastic dolls tea sets and some Asian toy cooking utensils made from wood or bamboo. In the department stores, there were also beautiful toys made in the UK which had tiny replicas of cakes and trifles just like those goodies depicted on Patisserie.

You are always the most inventive finder and seeker of theme appropriate connections @xincinsin -- and I love the double tie!

This is beautiful @Redbirdhermes! I purchased another cw but this is my very favorite one of this design and it looks fantastic on you-- particularly with this top. I know I can relate to the scene as well...
Just wanted to add that GS likes construction equipment toys.
 So does mine! My grand-little now demands breakfast every morning on the porch so she can supervise the landscaping work being done in her front yard. Nothing is as fascinating to a two year old as an earth mover or a back hoe apparently!
Good find for this week! Toys and games with pets seems like a perfect match to me.
Thank you @bunnycat!
Summer nights at my parent’s best friends’ house - they lived in the country and had a huge yard - Hide and Seek!

from the SS2022 collection. Pairs so well with the Hermes gold. I love it! View attachment 5614371

What perfect perfect highlights from your lovely collection @Forever Orange -- great minds too as I pulled H Story for the rocking horse also! Your Cave Fellem has me swooning...
Very pretty paired with purple.

Thank you both @Maedi and @Nomad! I have never felt certain about purple but am getting more adventurous! That scarf sure does love it!

This is a beautiful pairing of tops and this scarf and really highlights the colors for you. Perfection! I am sisters on the scarf and also still have my nesting dolls-- or rather my DD and now my DGD (grand)-- has them in her bookshelves! A lovely photo, tie and post @Nomad!
Very nicely styled @336 !

Like @Nomad, I also thought of dolls, and my SOTD is a doll of a different kind. According to a post I found, "Kachina dolls have long been a tradition among the Hopi tribes. They also have spiritual significance for the Navajo and are commonly crafted by Navajo artists." I used to have a doll collection that was started by my grandmother. She brought me a doll from anywhere she traveled, usually in native costume. I did not consider them playthings but a cherished collection (perhaps a precursor to my scarf collecting propensities :giggle: ). She never brought me a Kachina doll, but now I have a scarf full of them!

Amazing! Congratulations, twin! Your post has made me fall in love with it all over again! Love this on you!

I was the first sibling in my family to get married, so I had no experience with little children as my brother and sister were close in age to me. When I was pregnant with DS1, Nippon Paint was running a commercial on TV extolling the wonders of their washable paint. The example used was kids drawing on walls and their frazzled parents switching to Nippon Paint to wipe off the artistic scribblings. Worried me asked DH if we should repaint the house  He :roflmfao: , being the veteran uncle of 9 nieces and nephews

This was my scarf mail on Monday. I can't call it a grail as I never expected to acquire one. It was a Lucky Find (tm).

@Redbirdhermes and @LKBNOLA When DS1 was a toddler, I plotted to buy him a childsized Kobelco Acera excavator. It was in a lovely turquoise and it took me some time to convince myself that I was buying it for me rather than for DS1 who had no interest in large construction machines. He preferred Ultraman and Beyblade.

Kobelco, Ultraman and Beyblade all originate from Japan, so here's a Japanese toy: temari balls were/are used in handball games. When I was young, decorative Japanese dolls were sold in shops here. Each doll held a parasol, a fan, a branch of wisteria or a game paddle for playing temari.

I love the way the dark border on kachinas and your stripes on your top are matching! It creates the BeSt look all around.

Thank you. Marvelous scarves, and yes, agree that we learn so much from your posts. DS had a backhoe as a kid. GS is just a bit young for it this summer.

@LKBNOLA, here is GS eating breakfast outside this summer with a Tonka bulldozer in attendance.
