Oh wait... It's not high/low week? (Well, that would be every week for me.) It is happy, though! From the last in-person visit before the pandemic - Les Artisans.

Happy New Year! Here’s my first scarf of the year, Exposition Universelle, and actually my first Hermes scarf I’ve ever bought! I’ve been spiralling since then and my wallet has not been thanking me.. I thought I’d try it out as a top, but I don’t think I’d actually dare wear this out

I love seeing your smiling face @HermesHope!! You (and your lovely silks) have been missed here...I didn’t manage to post or follow the thread last year, so here is a quick repost of my newest scarf. I think it fits the theme! Le Premier Chant…

THANKS for stellar ending/beginning miss bunny - and BIG thanks to all SMs for all you do!continued from here
THEME WEEKS for 2022 from TEAM SCARF MISTRESS
Just for fun, each Sunday begins a new Theme Week. This year, we continue to have a full compliment of SMs and GSMs on file for the year! I think it gives the thread some very nice variety and good sense of fullness and completeness to have surprise Scarf Mistresses dropping in from time to time to do theme weeks here on SOTD. Once again, our ever fabulous calendar mastermind @xincinsin, along with @Cookiefiend, @Living.la.vida.fifi, @Karenska and yours truly brainstormed to (hopefully) give a fun and variety filled Silky Calendar for 2022 and I can't wait for some of our surprise GSMs to join and on the fun this upcoming year. Of course, there is always room for more! If you’d like to be a host, start a Conversation with one of us (@bunnycat, @Cookiefiend, @Living.la.vida.fifi, or @xincinsin ) by clicking the Inbox in the upper right corner. (I promise it is really fun- give it a try this year!)
For 2022, the over-arching theme is one of culture. Modern culture, music, poetry, songs, dance, movies and television themes will fill our 2022 Silky Calendar and hopefully give us plenty of variety, creativity and insight. As always, we try to maximize ease of participation, so even if you are unsure about the name of a particular theme, the actual "in action" should be pretty easy to just "go with the flow". And, well, I think most of you by now are pretty much expert at the flying by the seat of your pants adaptations to weekly themes.
Everyone on this thread is a Scarfie who loves learning about specific designers, discovering new scarf knots, examining scarf details more carefully, and seeing MORE SCARVES. Even if it's off-theme, your SOTD is always welcome. Be creative, have fun with the topics, and SHOW US YOUR SCARVES — talk about them and add links to more information. We’re all friends here (definitely no Scarf Police) – so smile at your selfie camera and come play with us!

love them all but especially that csgm. Wow that is fantastic. And bunny you corral your silk so well! It’s my scarf goals.Hello to 2022 Scarflandia!
I stayed up late to start this thread early!
First of all - Happy New Year to everyone out in Scarfland!
Second of all, in this, the year of all things culture 2022, this first theme managed to land squarely in all the right spots on the board for the name.I totally wasn't thinking about the day of the week this landed on when I suggested the song related to this week's theme but here we are! A very happy coincidence for our first theme of 2022.
02 Jan 2022 Get the Party Started: Let’s celebrate with our happiest scarves!
Let's kick off our culture year with some modern culture and Pink's rowdy, happy (and still very danceable) song that gave us this week's theme.
"I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
Get this party started on a Saturday night
Everybody's waitin' for me to arrive…"
Let's explore our happiest scarves. I had to think about that one for a little. What makes a scarf a happy scarf for me? The easiest answer I had for the question was subject matter or colors.
For me Grand Prix du Faubourg and Animapolis fit neatly in to happy scarf land (probably for many of us) with the busy details of races, running, animals and general festivities and usually lot of bright or cheerful coloring (or, as in my case- an overabundance of pink).
View attachment 5286046
View attachment 5286045
Another happy "subject matter" scarf for me would be anything with cats tends to get placed in the "happy scarf" file, like Baobab Cat....
View attachment 5286047
But also, as I pondered a little more, I found I do have a (small- wish it were BIGGER) subset of scarves in my collection that I tend to think of as "happy" because I got a smoking' deal on them...
Panoplie Equestre will ALWAYS be a happy scarf for me for this exact reason (plus I adore the lime green with the navy...)
View attachment 5286048
So take it away scarf fans!!!! Let's see what you have designated your "happy" scarves for whatever reason!
gorgeous you are in it! Love that hem.Thank you @bunnycat for staying up late and getting the party started. Finding Le Premier Chant online and in the CW I wanted, plus before my [unrealistic] new year’s resolution to spend less at H could fail, made me very happy. And while I’m not happy about my insomnia (up at 3am) I’m happy to share some pics.

This burgundy color is so pretty and ribbons. I mean c’mon those are just happySince I am away from home, I only have a very limited selection of scarves available. But SOTD certainly is one that makes me happy, with its bright colours and classic design: Rubans de Cheval. (Lippy isn‘t matching, sorry!)View attachment 5286135
brights is so happy. You do brights so well rbh! Jealous.Thank you so much, @Living.la.vida.fifi , for hosting over the holidays. It is always a treat to see your beautiful scarves. Thank you, @bunnycat , for the list of topics for 2022 and for hosting this week. Thank you to all the Scarf Mistresses for your work throughout the year that makes sharing our scarves such fun.
My first scarf mail of 2022 arrived early this Sunday morning, and it makes me very happy. It was my favorite design from last season in a colorway that I never saw on h.com. Even more delighted to pick it up for under current cost. This makes for the perfect crossover scarf for not only this week, but for moving on into 2022.
SOTD is Grand Théâtre Nouveau in CW03, jaune d'or/vert fluo clair .

jaw dropping. Each one looks so amazing. Again brights are so happyThis year I vow to be ruthless in my acquisitions and culls - since I have only one neck I need to acquire and keep only the ones that are more than just pretty or even breathtaking (because aren’t they all?!) but really make my heart skip a beat.
one thing I’ve learned about myself is that H magic often requires time to ‘rise’. If I get scarf mail and try something on without the right hair/makeup/clothes I’m often crushingly disappointed. This was the case with 3 Graces. Alice Shirley + brights should have been a no-brainer but it just didn’t work the first few times I tried it on. Off to the re-home pile it went!
But then I found the perfect backdrops and voila it became a heartbeat-skipper. And adding to the happiness: NWT and below retail!

Huge thanks to @Living.la.vida.fifi for her heroic holiday hosting (lots of alliteration there!) and thank you @bunnycat for getting us started. I am excited for this year. My 2022 collecting goals for artists are Pierre Marie, Virginie Jamin and Dmitri Rybalchenko. I have some other designs on my list (of course!) and two grails I am still in the hunt for. But today, taking a page from @Redbirdhermes (and I am her twin on this one too!) I am posting my favorite Rybalchenko from last season. When I bought this DH was so happy that I had a black and gold scarf-- our beloved NOLA Saints' team colors. Today Clair de Lune is happy to be going to a Saints game!

I feel the same about CSGMs… This one is so wearable and so vibrant! Definitely a great one to kick off the week!Happy New Year to all my dear scarfies! And say the same sentiments as those above- I am so appreciative to all the scarf mistresses who take the time to make our love of silks so fun throughout the year!
I was going to do yellow silk today like scarf1 but it’s raining so I chose this csgm that makes me so happy because I got it for a STEAL!!!!!!! And it’s black! Black can’t go wrong in my mind. Dirt, what dirt. Put lipstick on…sure why not!
My first three csgm’s were Samourais and a beloved Henry and I loved them so much that I protected them. Hardly wore them. I am slowly learning to enjoy the more costly format. So to have this utter bargain in my closet has really allowed me to wear csgm’s more often and learn through experience that they can take a beating And it’s just fine. Rain, hurricane, snow, wind, this guy is coming with me!

Call me crazy but I don’t think I see you much in brights like this. Could be my brain dead-ness. This looks so good on you with that bright pink sweatshirt. Again like Lbk- scarf goals!
I was going to do yellow too!! Totally agree It is so happy. And love all of these. pays is one of my favorites and would love more colorways in it.
it looks smashing as a top. Bravo on the skill to make it happen. I am not aware of how delicate this is to keep on all day, I get being worried
LOVE seeing a design I have never seen before. Thanks so much for sharing. In such a pretty feminine color. I love how you have her face peaking out in your tie. Love the pastel against the navy blue. Makes it shine. I say again-my scarf goals! to make those pastels work better.
Sous legide? It’s fantastic!Happy New Year to all my dear scarfies!

To our weekly hosts, let me also chime in with my appreciation. This is an amazing commitment in your already full and exciting lives, to step up and keep the rest of us so wonderfully engaged year after year speaks to your generous and adventurous spirits. The photos shared so far today are stunning, I’d reply to all but I’ve yet to make the quote feature work properly (entirely user error and likely cuz I’m being too lazy to resolve the issue)
thank you to all for the wonderful compliments, they sure do make me blush, so here’s my SOTD, Floréal, with me definitely showing the effects of last night’s insomnia
This is Hugo Grygkar 1957, it does have some stains but who among us doesn’t show some ravages from ageand it was priced accordingly so at pre-pandemic prices it was a steal.
I know nothing about this design but it is my 2022 resolution to do research on various scarves in my collection. View attachment 5286412View attachment 5286413

Holy cow @Snausages! I am dying over these beautiful ties! The last one is stunning-- but the scarf is so so compelling and you have styled it to perfect advantage. I am very much liking your idea about giving a scarf time to "rise"-- it is so true that "straight outta the box" may not really be a fair trial...And I have total faith that if anyone can solve the problem of only having one neck it will be you. Just make sure you patent your invention when you discover how to grow another one...This year I vow to be ruthless in my acquisitions and culls - since I have only one neck I need to acquire and keep only the ones that are more than just pretty or even breathtaking (because aren’t they all?!) but really make my heart skip a beat.
one thing I’ve learned about myself is that H magic often requires time to ‘rise’.

Oh wait... It's not high/low week? (Well, that would be every week for me.) It is happy, though! From the last in-person visit before the pandemic - Les Artisans.
All lovely but that little Rendez-vous in yellow and grey with the sweet white hem is just the definition of happy to me, @scarf1. And I have very little yellow but it is a happy color intrinsically I think...To me, yellow is a happy color. I don’t have many yellow scarves, but do view these as some of my happiest!

Very lovely as a top-- and congratulations on a marvelous silk! I think if you throw on a cardi or little jacket you'd look wonderful @scarvesandhandbags! I wear mine layered too sometimes, or tied as a shrug.Happy New Year! Here’s my first scarf of the year, Exposition Universelle, and actually my first Hermes scarf I’ve ever bought! I’ve been spiralling since then and my wallet has not been thanking me.. I thought I’d try it out as a top, but I don’t think I’d actually dare wear this out

Thank you, Fifi! I mean this design is TDF and so beautiful but it just proves the point that the silks can be versatile and fun as well! What are your team colors? And what did you pick for your game scarfs? Maybe we should have a game week after all!!!Isn’t it fabulous? And this CW is made for you… Such a happy, dynamic and meaningful design! We dat! They won! H Magic at work in the Superdome! Thank you @SnausagesThose colors are amazing! Who dat?!
Bunny, I love your intro to this year and the week! I am always so excited to see the themes. And your baobab is such a happy kitty scarf!Hello to 2022 Scarflandia!

SusieA, this is such a super colorway. I love the way all those brights play together!Since I am away from home, I only have a very limited selection of scarves available. But SOTD certainly is one that makes me happy, with its bright colours and classic design: Rubans de Cheval. (Lippy isn‘t matching, sorry!)View attachment 5286135
Snausages, I never would have guessed how great this colorway is. Wow. I know what you mean about letting scarves settle and rise. Btw - Can you give me lessons in ruthless culling? This year I vow to be ruthless in my acquisitions and culls - since I have only one neck I need to acquire and keep only the ones that are more than just pretty or even breathtaking (because aren’t they all?!) but really make my heart skip a beat.

Lkb... You are rocking this scarf! Fabulous tie to show it off!Good morning Scarflandia! Happy 2022.
