Here is my very orange Plumes en Fete by Aline Honoré. As you see, its easy to wrap away the orange border if I want to. When I bought this, it was because I couldnt stop thinking of the beautiful scarf display on the wall...I had turned down the Kawa Ora that day, wich I later ended up with :happydance: Guess I needed this bright and very beautiful shawl to be ready for the colors in Kawa Ora. I usually get an instant feeling of love or not love, so if I am in doubt I don´t by, and seldom regret. But after this one, I could not stop thinking of Kawa Ora:heart: Lucky me it was still available in my H-shop.When it comes to knots, i usually just wrap it like this, the cowboy knot, or weave it in when bias folded. Very casual suits me the best. Wish all of you a relaxing saturday and all the best for the weekend

These are beautiful and look great on you. I love my Plume en Fetes (so much I bought two-- a first for me)-- l like what you said about that scarf love instinct. I wanted to get Kawa Ora so badly but in person it was overwhelming. It is beautifully soft in your photo.

Good morning all. I am recovering from second covid shot and feeling not so wonderful-- I hope to feel well enough later to play with some knots. But I do have field notes from my post-vax expedition to the H boutique in Short Hills mall. SA says they have nothing from SS2021 except Selles des Steppes and Zambeze and Swinging St. Germain. I did not look at other formats. They were kind enough to give me the SS booklet. I am happy to take pics and post if that is allowed. I gave my wish list and left with a twilly for my niece's 18th birthday (start them young!) and a wash Colliers et Chiens in blue, which as usual is so much lovelier in person. The dog portraits make me smile. Happy Friday, Scarfies.

Hope you get better soon! I heard that there're some systemic symptoms after vaccination. Take care of your conditions. :hbeat:The vaccination started this week in Korea too, and I will get a vaccine next week.. Our hospital is preparing for it. I wish this vaccine will be our hope! And I'm looking forward to see your pretty gavroche! I love those cute portraits of puppies

Sorry I missed the ‘favorite designer’ theme last week...It’s hard to pick one but my recent favorite has to be Alice Shirley. She has totally changed my view of animal prints (of which I’m not a big fan). Here’s me with my Mountain Zebra 90.

You tied it so beautifully! Love the colorway of it.

Playing with knots while I’m supposed to be working. (Well, this is work!) Les Artisans: snail knot, novelty tie to get the samurai guy in view, octopus (“knot” pleased), and @Cookiefiend’s double knot (the winner, because it only took 3 seconds). Also Rose Inoui lipstick, very poorly named, as it is orange!
Sorry, everything is out of order and double. ARGH!
Also - I spared you my attempt at the "ondulation" knot. I should make a spoof video.

Your knots are perfect!! Gorgeous, dear @momasaurus. And I love your lipstick color

Casual t-shirt and hoodie day with Le Carnaval de Venise keeping my neck warm in sort of a cowboy knot. The snow continues to melt due to the warm Pacific breezes. Currently it is 39F here.

I'm so glad to hear that the weather is getting warmer. I'm waiting for spring  I love the soft green color of your Le Carnaval de Venise ! So beautiful

All so elegant Yoon, you make it seem effortless!

Thank you so much, dear @paula24jen

Wonderful knots, Yoon DS! And your Le Voyage de Pytheas is my fav cw. I so hope to own this one day. :hbeat:

I appreciate it, dear @Karenska  And my fingers crossed for you! :hugs:

There is a H scarf that actually has a picnic blanket as its design

It's a gorgeous knot. My only photo of an Octopus knot from the archive. I should use this knot more often. It looks much better than my normal loop-round-the-neck look.

 We could do a blooper reel from our attempts this week!

Wow your octopus knot is so amazing!! Stunning, dear @xincinsin :hbeat:

Heeheehee - the Octopus Knot continues to thwart us - your expression made me giggle! :giggle:
The Double knot looks great - look at that hem!

Magical!
Your Le Jardin de la Maharani is especially beautiful tied this way!

Love it and that hem! :faint:

Thanks always, dear @Cookiefiend  I love Le jardin de Maharani too, it's delicate patterns (especially the beautiful borders) makes me delightful!

This is great! I did some practicing last night (pre-covid vax). I think I need a slightly larger ancre ring but I think this is a lovely festive look. I can see me wearing this to Commander's Palace for a holiday lunch if we can ever have holiday lunches in person again...I love this scarf so much but now am wishing I had it in a lighter cw for other seasons. Thanks for the tutorial. Loved it. Easy to follow and fun to play with.

So striking and elegant! Oh, how I love black and red!

I actually love this look on you!

One of the best of Alice Shirley and so beautiful in this CW! Love the knots!

This is a wonderful design and looks amazing as a plisé

Great scarf on you! Love the CW especially with that top! And that double knot is actually the Fifi Knot! LOL.... Your octopus looks droopy because you did it wrong... I posted instructions yesterday

Fabulous! Christina has some beautiful knots... Thank you for pointing us to the actual IG post as sometimes they are hard to locate. Every single example here is breathtaking!

Great examples, and I love the Octopus with your beautiful Zabavushka... The knot came out perfect!

It’s such a good one, and all of your examples are stunning. But, somehow mine never come out like yours. I love that waterfall effect that you always accomplish. If you have time and it’s not too much trouble, I would love a step-by-step of your method

I hope that you are feeling better! The knots came out great! Stunning silk, too

Thanks a lot, dear @Living.la.vida.fifi  It's one of my favorite knots!! Glad you like it too

A while back I tried a knot that dear @Cookiefiendchristened, The Fifi Knot... it is an easy and cute way to keep a scarf neatly secured and close to the face.
You basically fold the scarf into a rectangle and place around neck and shoulders as in the Octopus Knot. You then take the two points closer to the neck and tie into a knot. Then, you take the remaining two corners and tie into a knot right underneath the first knot. Then, you arrange and fluff out.
Here are some examples, even using one scarf ring for the top knot, and another time using two vintage Bakelite buckles

You tied it so beautifully!!!! Love this happy octopus knot

Scarf mail this week brought me this cheerful Gronland. I've tied it in an asymmetric knot because I want to show the contrast between the blue sweater and the yellow hem.

Once our lakes melt I'll wear it while paddling my kayak. There is no way I'll actually get to Greenland itself, although that would be awesome.

Congrats RBH, a pretty colour combo. Flying, kayak paddling and daily scarfmails ... life is so good!

Thank you. I'm not sure my two artificial knees are up for a rugged hike, but I'm thrilled that I can get in and out of a kayak again.

In the meantime, a bonus picture from today when my nearly 7 month old grandson came for a visit.

Oooooo...purple! Wonderful scarf with cute knot (prefect for the gavroche).
I do wish Hermes would issue more deep purple scarfs (sigh) - it seems like they haven't designed in this colour in a "dog's age". I love the colour & it looks good on me.

It's been a crazy week and I am soooooo far behind! trying to hit some highlights! But I have really loved seeing all the knot experiments this week! :woohoo: :woohoo:

All so beautiful!

I love these colors on you, they truly suit you so well!

So pretty!

Thank you Cookie!

Today though, I’m wearing the short and sweet version - with a gav.

Today I’m being photo bombed by what’s left of one of Coco’s new toys... she loved it! :giggle:

That cuuuute gav with the jacket!

SOTD Cristaux Wash - half bow knot again with a dinky "bow". Sorry for lack of knot variety - it's been a week. At least HBK is a break from my usual.

Lovely!

Love these- especially with the tweed jacket :hbeat:

Thanks toots ;)

More fantastic tweed - that gav is perfect! :faint:
(glad sweet princess Coco has an assortment of toys to keep her happy)

This scarf body shade just looooves your skin! (maybe the shine from the jacquard assists? I’m not sure, but you glow) :beach:

-Thank You for such helpful video links! MaiTai’s method is simpler than another version I previously found
-I like the Friendship Knot tied in the looser way you’ve done (who knew it would work with a 70 :wtf:)
-Pink is a very flattering scarf color on you
-Pearls draped over scarf tails is charming!

Thanks! Can’t wait to see what knots you wear it with (I’m taking notes) :giggle:

You’re always schooling me; another cw I’ve yet to see. Totally surprised when I scrolled to flat lay pic and saw that blue border! :panic:

Yes! A 90 may be too much silk; I’d stick to 70, gav or twillies. Rock it :rochard:

That Offrandes is sooo pretty!
Congrats on your new Paddock- I have total purple envy

I’m a huge fan of the regular cowboy & just draping ends. Also love the way you highlighted the Rodeo charm :happydance:

Waterfall cowboy with that lippie...

Thank you kindly!

Dear @Croisette7 absolute command of wearing mostly white scarves (which I’ve previously avoided) and the gold detailed classics (which I’m feeling nostalgic about) influenced me to add my first L’Instruction du Roy (I know- it’s about dang time!) w/both elements (plus it’s jacquard)...
 ideal or overkill?

I feel out of my depth here... how do I optimally style it?! (It’s actually off white IRL so my white button-down is a mismatch)

Here’s my SOTD fan-girl snail knot with softly metallic silver top
View attachment 5002449
Alt tried the more open asymmetric tie paired with black & even more neutral lip (which I think looks better?)

LOL! I often have days like this! I am your twin on that marvelous L’Ivresse and always forget to reach for it... Great knots! And, that mousseline is breathtaking

I think you did a stellar job here! So great to lay out all the tings you used

Fabulous and love your smile and your lipstick

My Appaloosa, too... Looks fabulous

Truly a spectacular design and so lovely in both of these two very different Cws... Each a totally different vibe

Love all three, but especially the Tigre Royale Fleuri... What a wonderful knot for it!

Amazing how the knot works for these formats! Gotta try it!

Such a delicate beauty!

Love how the knot came out... This is such an amazing jacquard

What a wonderful parade of silks, all masterfully tied! Must try the Friendship Knot... Very useful and neat!

I agree with you! This knot is useful in many ways, dear @paula24jen

Thanks a lot, dear @Cookiefiend!! Actually, I like the shorter tail than the longer one, so I prefer the friendship knot with Carre 70!

Thanks a lot, dear @Bova123 !! :heart::loveeyes:

Thank you so much, dear @momasaurus ! It's one of my favorite blouses ;)
