Thank you so very much! Perhaps it’s the light, but my Grand Nords is black

Love them! Especially how the Noel looks against that beaded trim on your sweater

Congrats! Such a great first scarf! Marvelous hem and a versatile CW... So great that you shared this wonderful moment with us, and I hope you will continue to share with us!

Oooh, don’t think I’ve ever seen the yellow CW modeled... It is fantastic! Somehow the fine graphic elements of this design stand out even more in this CW... I actually zoomed into the pictures! Love it!!

Such wonderful colors, and so beautifully matched by your lipstick

Awesome! Thanks so much for the heads up!

I am your twin! This is seriously one of those designs I call a “graphic wonder” and it is so elegant, yet dynamic in this CW

Great post!

It’s the magic of Aline Honoré!

Oh how fabulous it looks worn with that sweater! Now, I MUST find one this shade to wear with mine! And, Winston is so handsome!
Love black as well! The dark border with the beautiful dogs and white center makes the colorway really stand out.

While it is very grey outside today (and wet as well), we had a cold, clear winter morning 2 days ago, with this particular winter light of icy blues, greys and a hint of pink, and I enjoyed seeing your scarves with exactly this colour combination!

SOTD is Central Park, in a (to me at least) wintry colourway, with some warmer hues.

So beautiful and with that fabulous sweater and brooch, Agrume. Très chic.

Oh, it looks wonderful! And, perfect with your coat!

Both gorgeous, but especially that pink La Femme... So stunning in that format with these soft and beautiful colors!

What a beautiful scene! The colors are unbelievable! And, I want to trade my Central Park with you! Mine is the softer and equally stunning greens and lavenders, but I am such a fan of black! Your Wedgwood pin matches so well!

Love your posts... I always learn so much from them!

How gorgeous it is!

Oooh, looks so beautiful!

Congrats! It is fabulous!

You have the blue one?! Gaaaaah! Gorg!!

So beautiful on you... and, those pearls!!
Thank you, Fifi.

So, I braced myself and went out into the bitter Floridian tundra this afternoon armed with a CSGM... Honestly folks, this is winter in the tropics: windy, sunny and 60 degrees F... Still wore a sweater cape and threw Fouets et Badines over my shoulders

Wowza! Love that Fleurs d’Hiver, Fifi. Good theme connection; can’t wait to show mine!

Look what I found: exactly 5 years ago I took this and it fits perfectly: icy colors, my coziest sweater, and the @Bova123 collar with a silk 140:

Beautiful colors!

My actual SOTD 90x90 Neige tied in two different ways and combined with a cozy cashmere cardigan:

That is such a great colorway

Keeping warm in this winter day with Paperoles
I tried @Bova123s knot, but my neck is too big - so I used one of my very underused scarf rings!

But I had to take it off for a dr appointment, and just did a usual knot. ❤️

What scarf ring is that? Looks intriguing

That’s a pretty cool Fleurs d’Hiver.

The other day when I went riding in the morning, I specifically took the SUV because it had heated seats and it was 50F outside... sadly, the car doesn’t have a heated steering wheel

What a dramatic CW of Fouets et Badines! Gorgeous!

Thank you for your comments and welcome, everybody. As a newcomer who buys bags exclusively preloved, I can tell you that those $600-800 prices almost kept me from owning an Hermès scarf. I figured if that was the resale, the boutique prices would be even higher. I about fell out when I saw I could get a brand new scarf for half that AND get the experience of going to the boutique rather than opening a crappy bubble wrap pack for a scarf wrapped in cheap tissue or a plastic bag. Honestly, unless I was chasing a particular piece as part of a collection, I would never buy a preloved one, especially since I got dinged once already by a seller who lied about condition and sent me a scarf so damaged it was unusable and I had to return it. At the boutique you can see the colors, look to see how it suits you and how the piece “feels” and know the condition is perfect. For less money! I saw two older versions of the exact pattern I bought yesterday in different color ways for 25 and 50% more than so paid for mine, in used condition. Why?

Scarf pricing can be discussed extensively. I used to see scarves that were still on the website with a a $100-$150 markup. ‘Tis a mystery. Many of us grow comfortable looking for good deals on eBay to seek out older designs. The experience can be hit or miss, but it is quite often a hit for me.

A winter connection in my SOTD: Ex Libris en Kimonos in a cool blue. The traditional patterns on kimono fabric usually have auspicious associations. One of the flowers in ELenK is the plum blossom which, in Oriental culture, symbolizes winter and perseverance, because it flowers when snow is still falling.

Thanks for sharing — it’s about to bloom here, although we never get snow :)

Oops! Wanted to say I don’t have snowy scarves, but I have snowy weather!

View attachment 4977418

I think I’m going to try the Bova knot today. Need warmth! Back in a bit. Hopefully.

Woah! I haven’t seen snow in so long... last time was when we went skiing right before the pandemic...

Threw on Wild Singapore before teaching my early morning class. I actually have a harder time than I initially expected trying to match this one to tops. I initially thought it might work with orange and mustards, but there's so much saturated color going on that it feels like neutrals are the safest bet.

I want to try that fun knot with a CSGM that everyone's been showcasing tomorrow!

Ha, I looked at it and thought, why don’t have I have one. Then I realized I have that exact one. Long day for me. I like that know!

Ohhhh I like it. You’re a genius @Bova123 !!!

It’s cute! Need to try with my 140 silks!

SOTD, scarf mail and on-theme with a cozy new-to-me CS losange, Cavald’or, in lovely shades of gris, rose, and mint with a bit of berry color pop! I am loving my new losange and I see one or more additions in my life. A very nice bit of CS without all the bulk.View attachment 4977481View attachment 4977482

Very cool — I don’t see Lisa he’s that much, so it’s always interesting.

On theme today with La Femme aux Semelles du Vent for meetings.View attachment 4977512View attachment 4977513

Very cool colorway.

I'm leaving shortly in light snow for a short daytrip. The horses and coaches on my scarf remind us of how much easier winter travel is today than it was in the past.

Wearing l'Hiver en Poste today along with some Tahitian drop pearls.

I love seeing your photos, not only because of the scarves, but also because of the jewelry.

Archive photo - L’Hiver en Poste. I love the matte blanc, a technique I don’t know too much about except that it gives texture and dimension to the snow, in this and other winter-themed Hermès scarves. View attachment 4977641
Here is a close-up; I hope you can see it. If someone has more knowledge and info about this lovely technique, please fill us in!
View attachment 4977650

I believe it’s not really a technique — matte blanc is a type of opaque dye that is used to add that whiteness. It sits on top of the fabric, which makes it feel more textured. It’s similar to adding white gouache to a watercolor painting.

Good morning, dear fellow scarfies,

this week is about the delights of winter. Winter is not only about dark, bleak evenings, long nights and cold hands and toes. It is also about fun outside: skating and skiing, building snowmen and feeling snug and wam in a thick coat with hat and gloves and of course a scarf. Here in The Netherlands, we have a long tradition of skating whenever and wherever it is possible. In Amsterdam, every 10 years or so it is cold enough to skate on the frozen canals, a magic experience.

View attachment 4975491

The quintessential winter scarf for me is Les plaisirs du froid, The delights of the cold, showing skaters and a winter scene reminiscent of the famous winter landscapes (“wintertjes”) of the deaf painter Hendrik Avercamp.

View attachment 4975492View attachment 4975494View attachment 4975496View attachment 4975497

So this week, show us your scarves evoking winter pleasures, and also how you keep warm in the cold. Do you combine scarves? Do you wear wintry motives only in the weeks before Christmas (or also in summer)? What colours do you associate with winter? For those in warmer climates, how do you use scarves to ward off the chill of air conditioning or evening dinners outside? Looking forward to see your treasures!

Better late than never... Super intro with great images & direction :hugs:

I am cozy this morning in Sangles en Zigzag shawl. Also a beloved H overcoat I bought on evilbay several years ago. View attachment 4975579
Pretty colorway suited for winter

Well needed today, Cookiefiend! I inherited this coat after my grandmother. The cut isn’t really uptodate, but it fits me and I like it.
I just love this! It’s gotta be the next best thing to getting a warm hug from your Grandma:heart:

@Agrume lovely intro, and I’m excited to see the scarves this week. I don’t think I own many or any wintery scarves (that will change I’m sure) but I did have to run errands yesterday in below freezing temps and focused only on neck warmth and not showcasing the design. (Grand Prix du faubourg)

Pairing with stripes looks great:heart:

Great intro and lovely scarf. Timely too since we have snow here today! I don’t have any winter themed scarves, but I did bundle up very recently:

I feel exceptionally cozy and warm in pink.

Stop! Looks soooo good in all formats... must.resist. (You wear it beautifully)

As an avid 'bay follower of H scarves over the last years, I notice that a relatively stable number of 6 to 8.000 scarves were on offer at any given time throught the year, with a few more before and after Christmas. Lately, there's an explosion, often more than 23-25.000 (although a few posted multiple times). Especially some sellers have ridiculous mark ups, and I'm astounded to see people willing to pay say nearly double price for particular patterns and/or CWs. Anyone got a good explanation for this extreme increase in scarves on offer?
Some possibes:
-More people at home cleaning out/don’t have dressy occasions to wear H scarves?
-Relatives that inherited scarves letting them go (with no idea how to valuate them)?
-Resellers trying to cash in on store closures/shoppers from home?

I wish I knew. Every few days there are pages and pages of scarves dropped on the bay, for 600 to 800 dollars. WHAT?? I used to assume someone miscalculated money exchange, but now it seems that's actually what they are asking. I can't imagine anyone but the most ignorant newcomer would pay that.
Right? Wasn’t that long ago when only grails or very rare vintage designs commanded those prices. I’ve seen very ordinary designs/cw’s double in asking prices. I assume they’re Sellers that have no idea how to value (b/c let’s face it- there’s no common resources available). Upside is that if you look at sold prices I think most are pretty in line with what we’re used to.

So, I braced myself and went out into the bitter Floridian tundra this afternoon armed with a CSGM... Honestly folks, this is winter in the tropics: windy, sunny and 60 degrees F... Still wore a sweater cape and threw Fouets et Badines over my shoulders
