Apologies that it’s not on theme - and I don’t think I own any designs that are actually winter themed! But this is my actual STOD - wearing a Kawa Ora shawl with some cheery (and my favorite) color yellow to keep myself bundled up and warm on a bad weather day.

Lovely yellow and browns!
This is a drive by, be back soon. La Legende du cheval a la plumes - actual SOTD. Didn’t wear this lippie for work day videos though, put it on after for a “virtual happy hour”.
Yay Twins! Gorgeous! ....And your lippie is perfect!

Good morning, dear fellow scarfies,

this week is about the delights of winter. Winter is not only about dark, bleak evenings, long nights and cold hands and toes. It is also about fun outside: skating and skiing, building snowmen and feeling snug and wam in a thick coat with hat and gloves and of course a scarf. Here in The Netherlands, we have a long tradition of skating whenever and wherever it is possible. In Amsterdam, every 10 years or so it is cold enough to skate on the frozen canals, a magic experience.

View attachment 4975491

The quintessential winter scarf for me is Les plaisirs du froid, The delights of the cold, showing skaters and a winter scene reminiscent of the famous winter landscapes (“wintertjes”) of the deaf painter Hendrik Avercamp.

So this week, show us your scarves evoking winter pleasures, and also how you keep warm in the cold. Do you combine scarves? Do you wear wintry motives only in the weeks before Christmas (or also in summer)? What colours do you associate with winter? For those in warmer climates, how do you use scarves to ward off the chill of air conditioning or evening dinners outside? Looking forward to see your treasures!

Lovely introduction and beautiful scarf.
I don't remember why! I have done some stupid things in my life. :panic:
 Me too, momasaurus!
Lovely intro, Agrume!
And your closing reminded me of a "joke". When the company where I work was planning the specs for a new building, they asked a staff member to do the proposal for a sustainable "green" air conditioning system. The staff member took an unwise shortcut and copied the specs off the internet. There was disbelief when the committee read his proposal for how to adjust the temperature during winter. Someone had to point out that Singapore had no winter
Oops and busted! Cute story xincinsin.
I am cozy this morning in Sangles en Zigzag shawl. Also a beloved H overcoat I bought on evilbay several years ago. View attachment 4975579
Fantastic outfit and your mask matches, too. You look wonderful momasurus. :hbeat:
One more dark scarf before I look for my winter wonderlands and participate in @Agrume’s very appropriate theme this week. A plisse I adore - Cosmos, in rich purples and aubergines.View attachment 4975601
This is gorgeous Karenska, the contrast of the gold against the auburgine, it positively glows.
Kind of on theme this snowy Sunday with an icy colorway of Robe du SoirView attachment 4975659
Beautiful scarf that coordinates so nicely with your sweater!
@Agrume lovely intro, and I’m excited to see the scarves this week. I don’t think I own many or any wintery scarves (that will change I’m sure) but I did have to run errands yesterday in below freezing temps and focused only on neck warmth and not showcasing the design. (Grand Prix du faubourg)

View attachment 4975720
Perfect colour match between your scarf and your top. I love the pretty hem!
Great intro and lovely scarf. Timely too since we have snow here today! I don’t have any winter themed scarves, but I did bundle up very recently:

Great pics, yes double points for ice fishing. Thank you and Finn for my smiles.
Thank you for a lovely introduction @Agrume . I do hope to visit Amsterdam someday post COVID!!

One of my favorite ways to snuggle up for warmth: a cashmere turtleneck paired with a CSGM that is nice and organized for working from home and cooking...so very cold here today as we await the expected snowstorm here in New England! (people are always amazed when they see the size of a shawl unfurled when I wear it like this LOL!!)
View attachment 4975862
Yes, nothing better than doubling up cashmere on cashmere. The CW of your CSGM is stunning!
Well, due to the frigid temperatures up north working their way south, we are bracing ourselves here in the Tropics for temps in the 40s this coming week! Woohooo! Shawl weather, here I come! (Yup, folks, 40 degree weather is bitter tundra to us)... Although, alas, I don’t own any winter-themed shawls! Nor, do I own many winter-themed scarves, but I’ll show the few that qualify in my collex and will probably be stretching out the theme a bit the rest of the week...
Beginning with the obvious, and my favorite: Noël au 24 Faubourg

 Beee-you-tiful!!!

I was very behind in catching up and somehow combined the dark and winter themes in my head. . . I’m twins with @Redbirdhermes on the dip dye surteint above. I think that the aubergine dip dye feels darker to me than black scarves in my collection bc the latter are often set off by white, light gray or brights (ex libris noir natural; tiger royal in black, grey or sieste au paradis with blck bordered shells). Here is the dip dye with an older Maitai fur collar from long ago and a black and white jersey Bolduc au carre (the latter I used to wear with the mors scarf ring. . .in the spring summer

the other scarf that I’ve been wearing a lot of this winter is this one, however I’m having a mind blip and can only recall etriers. I wear a lot of navy and green in the winter and a light blue grey seems winter to me too. I’ve also been wearing covetures de tenue a lot this winter. Someone mentioned difficulty in wearing necklaces with scarves; I do it by pulling the CSGM tightly around the neck. And, here is Tigre royal with snowy white worn with a brunello alpaca coat And ex libris.

since I was so behind, I just wanted to mention that I’ve enjoyed everyones photos; learned new terms like UHG and sisterhood of scarves (a la tolkien); and feel that the most wintery item in the last fifty pages were the fuzzy slippers belonging to @Cookiefiend.

@BowieFan1971, love your new 70. The cream and peach is so perfect!

Glorious winter choices that most definitely combine the last two weeks! (Extra points! :ghi5: )

Thanks Karenska! :hbeat:

Thank you Croisette. High five twin! :ghi:

Thank you so much Awillow!

Thank you Magjes!

Just gorgeous Awillow!

I like the way you tied PE. The colour on Zambeze is spectacular.

 I hear you on the jargon.

Your look fabulous and I love photobombing Sock Monkey.

Thank you bunnycat!

So beautiful with your necklaces.

I love the first one with your jewelry.
Second one looks great on you, too!

You look amazing! I hope you had a wonderful dinner out.

Delightfully evil! Your BdeG is stunning!

:faint: The tassels on your Parures de Samourais look real! Spectacular as always Fifi!

Thank you! It really is.

I feel exceptionally cozy and warm in pink.

Thanks cookiefiend, and I am glad my explanation made sense!!

Yay! this looks wonderful Langsam, it is super cozy for sure, and looks so nice with a contrast hem too!

In light of this subject (winter oriented scarves and tying of them), this is what I wore the other day during black scarf week and never got a chance to post. Was also a frigid day, so the coziness of this tie was quite satisfying! Sorry for the same look with this compact weave or hacking knot, here with De la Mer au Ciel CSGM.

Absolutely stunning!
Out to dinner tonight... not cold, but chilly inside the restaurant, so I took Zenobie along
View attachment 4976094
Your Zenobie makes my heart flutter. :hbeat:
Wintry silks seem to abound in my tansu. A few tied and untied. On the subject to tying, I avoid intricate knots and just appreciate the simplest means of wearing my shawls and scarves. So many gals like to do creative gymnastics / origami with their scarves. For me, H scarves are already typically busy in pattern and colors so I err towards less is more to allow the artistic design of a scarf flow. My two cents anyway. I’ll always favor wearing my 90’s casually vs. overly prim. Happy week all!

What a lovely theme week introduction, Agrume, and your Plaisirs is a beauty. I’m quite smitten with that design and I’ve placed it on my short wishlist. Another H scarf depicting skating is Joie d’Hiver, which is also on that ever-growing list ;). The gorgeous Avercamp landscape painting is so detailed and realistic. And not so very different from the contemporary skating photograph, either! I saw his work when I was in the Netherlands some years ago.
This is gorgeous Karenska, the contrast of the gold against the auburgine, it positively glows.
Thank you, More Bags. I don’t wear this scarf as much as I would like.
