I remember you’re a fellow Janeite & I’m such a sucker for illustrations of that period; this is beautiful.
Pursuing UHGs probably should be designated as a sportUltimate holy grail. Sounds more like a sport than a term...
*I know there’s a Grail thread with assorted lovelies, but is there a compiled list somewhere of UHG’s? I’m aware of a few, but am curious what designs are commonly held in highest esteem as my personal predilections don’t seem to align (to the relief of my wallet).

Super excited to add this one to my ever growing 2017 collection. I'd had this one on my ebay watchlist since I first started collecting last summer, and when it went on sale I pulled the trigger.
I really liked the black background reissue of this design from last season, but I don't think a 140 silk would get much play in my collection. I also considered adding one of this season's Marche du Zambeze cws (that yellow that @Living.la.vida.fifi has is a stunner!), but since both of these Ardmore designs have borders that read similarly to me (floral with a sort of lacy overlay), I think I'll just stick with this one. Obviously the centers of the two designs are totally different, but I usually knot my scarves in such a way that the borders/corners are highlighted most. Maybe if someone has both and wants to convince me otherwise with some modshots I would change my mind

And I also agree that some may not be on everyone’s list. But in general any popular design that everyone is looking for there has been an “unspoken” ( my goodness this is sounding very hush hush now...
) word to not write a list as it seems to directly influence reseller prices. How many times have we spoke about a great scarf for it to only appear on eBay that day or the next? I think many sellers follow this and other threads and plan accordingly. JMHO- Status
