Thank’s so much for all your lovely words and kind comments everyone - I apologize for not responding to them all and commenting on all the beautiful scarves I’m seeing! I’m staying with friends and I want to enjoy them and beautiful FL while I can... but know that I am so grateful for you all and your kindness. ❤❤❤
Excellent array of critters!
Continue to enjoy the sunshine!
:sunshine: :sunnies:

Scarf mail! Faubourg tropical from SS2021. And it is on topic. Showing both diagonals, and details of some of the fauna. Felines, monkeys, birds. And yes, there is a snake. Also wonderful vegetation.View attachment 4966352View attachment 4966353View attachment 4966357View attachment 4966359View attachment 4966360View attachment 4966361View attachment 4966362

Woo hoo, congrats! You look great! Nice colors for you.

It took me a long time to gather up everything. I even installed a water softener in my home as our town water is super hard. New iron, ironing board cover, wash bin, special liquid soap, and color catcher sheets. A couple of soft old white towels and my egg timer. Once I had everything assembled it is quick and easy. Just follow the directions in Mai Tai's handwashing scarf blog entry. About 3 minutes of constant gentle swishing in soapy water, two cold rinses, roll in towel to absorb water, hang over clean towel on shower rack. Ready to iron in 20 minutes.

Thank you, and good luck. So far I've only washed older ones that reeked of perfume. They are good practice for me.
Amazing and thank you! I’ll let you all know how it goes and whether the lip gloss I’m trying to remove (out there by me day one of owning it) comes off!

:heart:Heartfelt Thanks: @Croisette7 & @Agrume

:yahoo: Congrats on attaining your grail; the pinks are a wonderful compliment to the green. Scarves can be magic!

Love how you’ve colorblocked to mirror the scarf (the dots & pop of chartreuse are gorgeous)!

Perfect pink lip (and those dots)!

Thank you Karenska.
How it started ...cosmographia
How it’s going ...scarf mail.. vintage 70cm pour sortir
I like the way you tied cosmographia. Congratulations on your pour sortir, the colours look lovely on you Foxy trini.
10/10! Sweater, lipstick and scarf. Is this the 90cm? Love this.
Thank you so much. Yes, it’s a silk 90.
One of my very favorite Alice Shirley designs, Appaloosa des Steppes, in canard/framboise/marine. I read in a 5/17/18 article in Homes and Interiors of Scotland that Ms Shirley was inspired to create this design because of one theory that the American Appaloosa descends from wild spotted horses in Kyrgyzstan. There is a film that I need to stream called True Appaloosa by Conor Woodman that chronicles a NZ Appaloosa breeder and horsewoman’s trek to the Asian Steppes to research her theory that the breed entered NA via the Bering Strait. It’s absolutely fascinating and I look very forward to seeing it. Behind this leaping boy (I’ve decided he’s male; I have named him Azamat, which means “majesty” or “glory”) are the geometrically arranged ancient tribal patterns of Shrydak rugs, created by kyrgyz women who felt, cutout and hand-sew the wool used to make these gorgeous rugs. So pretty on you and thanks for the background info. It’s wonderful to learn about the scarf designs!

I like this CW!
I fell in love with this design because of the painterly lines and polka dots, and this knot shows them so well!
Thank you so much Fifi. :hbeat:

Looks fabulous on you Cookie. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

What creative repurposing, Xincinsin! I am curious, though; as a sewing notion, do you know what it is? It looks like a napkin ring, to me.
It's too small to fit a regular size linen napkin, and there are no holes at the back to sew it to something. I'm guessing it was a fancy belt slide for maybe fabric or macrame belts. Or perhaps the seller didn't know what it was either and just called it a sewing notion? I used to find the strangest things in the haberdashery department

Sotd- off topic sorry but my first time wearing one of my top three scarves of all time. Took me months just to get my only 90 of PdS at a reasonable price. I’d love them all...Just not at evil bay prices :annoyed:
And this is the magic of these scarves that I talked about in my last post. I just bought this sweater yesterday because now I can make green work on me W a scarf next to my face. I have zero green in my closet because it usually isn’t good w my skin tone. But actually this is a really complimentary green that I did find in the sweater. Thank you Nordstrom semi annual sale
Oh this is perfect together!!

Had a wee calamity on the way out and I was doused by a wave, so I had to wash my scarf... and I’m not at home so I had to improvise a place to dry it!

Just for fun, here’s my wild beast running!
(She’s at her favorite kennel, where they spoil her and she gets to run)

You look like you are having a wonderful time!
The phoenix in myths and legends is usually a wild elusive creature with magical powers. Heroes go on quests to seek it.

In Chinese mythology, it is the ruler of all the birds. The Vermilion bird, representing fire and the direction South, and found on mahjong tiles  is often represented by a Phoenix. In Egyptian, Greek, Roman and other Western myths, the Phoenix represents resurrection, and is associated with immortality.

Here is my SOTD Vermilion bird

Beautiful colors!

Today's wildlife - Grrrrr (complete with tag and wrinkles - hey, they are both too low to show up on camera, right?... Except here!)View attachment 4965901View attachment 4965902
I had no idea this green was so pretty. I love it!
More orange, or actually a sweet tangerine, on Les Triplets. And wildlife in the form of urban pigeons, LOL.

I love this design. I always hope one wil pop up somewhere and I snag it for my own! I’ve never seen it in orange!
I really like doubling my scarves like this around my neck so they do not hang low. I feel it gives it a casual look.
I heartily endorse an adoption, Awillow! It’s like having a parttime wild cat in your home. I find it the sweetest contradiction that these supremely indolent creatures that sleep 15 hours a day in the lap of luxury become the most fearsome carnivore when on the hunt. With their flexible bodies, quick and lithe movement and speed, nocturnal eyesight, excellent sense of smell (not canine level but excellent, nonetheless), they are nature’s perfect hunter. And to stay on topic, here’s a leopard in Cosmographia:
