Beautiful and informative introduction as always and your two Kachinas are breahtaking! I look forward to seeing all the examples this week. Happy Fourth to you!
Aw, thank you so much, dear LKBNOLA. To quote a fun turn of phrase that you often use, I do love me those Kachina triangles! Happy 4th of July to you, as well.

My Pani la shar pawnee that took quite a while to find. Love it!
Happy 4th of July to all !!!
Dupsy, it's beautiful! Congratulations. This is quite a design, IMHO. My favorite format of it is the Pani La Shar Pawnee triangle in Madras with the stirrup and horseshoe charms. Have not been able to find one for an affordable price OR in my preferred cw of the rose/pink.

Happy 4th to you, too!

Oh, my, Croisette, this is a beauty! You look so gorgeous in it. Perfect for both July 4 and Bastille Day, as @scarf1 noted. Vive La France!! Vive Les Etats Unis!!
Thank you, sweet Karenska!

Happy Fourth, all. I will be lurking for awhile but liking and loving your beautiful silks and mod shots when I can. Our skies will be full of fire(works) tonight, so here's a tiny scarf with its own fire in the sky to go with my red, white & blue outfit.

Two traditions in the US on the Fourth of July - picnics and fireworks.

What a beautiful tablescape! I can taste those hamburgers, cold salads and corn-on-the-cob as I write. Strawberry shortcake, too! Sousa’s famous “The Stars and Stripes Forever” immediately pops into my head and fifty festooned soldiers march around up there in their crisp uniforms with their brass and woodwinds.
Happy US Independence Day, dear ScarfLovers, and welcome to this week’s theme, Americana: Kermit Oliver and Designs with a US Connection.

Kermit Oliver (b. 1943) is a celebrated and award-winning painter from Refugio, Texas. His visual style, which he describes as “symbolic realism”, reflects his Texas heritage and his love of nature, mythology, history, and religion. His painting “Tobias” was included in the 2016 opening exhibition at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and his work may be found in the Museum of Fine Arts Houston as well as in the MOMA and the MMA. I find his paintings intense and arresting, full of emotion and empathy, and I can’t wait to see them someday up close and personal.

I could not find an image of “Tobias” but here are a few examples of Mr. Oliver’s art, including a self-portrait.

Mr. Oliver’s fertile relationship with
Hermès began in 1980, and over a 32-year period he created 17 magnificent and iconic designs. Pani La Shar Pawnee, Kachinas, Faune et Flore du Texas, and Madison Avenue are a few. My very favorite, which I have yet to acquire, is Les Mythologies des Hommes Rouges. Here is my fav cw of this magnificent design.

I own one KO design and format, Kachinas Geant Triangle, in two color ways and I adore them both. I am twins with some of you, too!

I look forward to hosting this wonderful theme this week and presenting other scarves with a US connection. I can’t wait to see your Kermit Oliver and other Americana-themed scarves this week and I hope all 17 of Mr. Oliver’s designs are showcased!
Great intro, Karenska ... I‘m a big KO fan!

Thank you for the wonderful introduction, Karen. I will be pulling out my two KOs later this week. I have more of his designs on my wish list for sure. In the meantime, I was able to identify a few scarves in my collection with a connection to the USA.

Today, I'm hosting a small holiday gathering at our lake home. Introducing my Beverly Hills mousseline, in a bright watery colorway. I adore mosaic scarf designs.

Thank you so kindly, dear RBH :hugs:. I can't wait to see your KOs and your US-themed discoveries! I think we're sisters on one.... :winkiss:. I love your Beverly Hills; it's a stunner. I know how you love the mosaic scarves (thinking of your Pavements).
Enjoy your holiday gathering. Such a blessing to be able to safely see people again. We are having our evening meal in the mid-afternoon in order to go down the street to visit our good friends, one of whom is a Yankee Doodle baby, and celebrate her birthday.
Our fireworks display is just down the street so we don't have to go anywhere to enjoy them.

Thank you so much, dear Croisette :hugs:. So am I. With the current reseller prices of any KO design through the roof, I don't hold out too much hope of acquiring any new ones soon. Which is AOK; I am fortunate and grateful to have my two beautiful Kachina GTs, one of which I will wear today in honor of Mr. Oliver and the day. Probably the fuscia/navy/periwinkle cw. Can't wait to see your KO collex this week!

Festive choice for today!

Actual SOTD En avant toute! ( full speed ahead!)
throwing the streamers seems very festive. this scarf design was created for the launch of Queen Mary 2 . A few Years later it had a general release with the ships name removed ( this one is from that later edition). And as I have taken QM2 from NYC to UK, it does have a “USA” connection in addition to the color scheme.

What a treat and a perfect theme offering, Scarf. I love it. It's gorgeous With your sweater, too. The streamers are very festive!

This scarf doesn't really have a US connection subject-wise, but it does have red, white, blue, stripes and stars, so if it were warmer today, I might wear it to celebrate the 4th. It's perfectly perfect outside, temperature-wise, so I will wear, as I mentioned in an earlier post, my navy/periwinkle/fuscia Kachinas GT.
