My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

I like the current incarnation of Bond. Daniel Craig's extremely athletic version of the super spy included a death-defying parkour chase across the rooftops in Casino Royale. No parkour in my scarves, so I'll contribute some rooftops instead
Les Toits de Paris, Jardin sur le Toit, and the urban landscape in Passage a Ginza.

My favourite bit of Bond isn't in the movies. It's the 2012 Summer Olympics filmlet featuring Queen E for the Games opening ceremony. Those corgis were a riot, as was the genuine surprise on the faces of William and Harry when they viewed the video.
Regina in memory of Leila Menchari and her depiction of the roses for England, leeks for Wales, thistles for Scotland and clover for Northern Ireland. Dieu et Mon Droit issued for the Queen's Jubilee.

wonderful! appreciate as always your insight, info, and context:heart:

fraternal twins on the Les Toits!...although I think a Bond girl could ditch the current house arrest, kidnap and exploit a scientist, and distribute a global cure in under two cinematic hours!

Haha, yes. Can we change this situation from a bad movie to a Bond movie?

Oh, Julide, if only I still had a trim waist to copy this look! I'll have to use a 140 :roflmfao:
Hahahah! I think a 140 would be better. More “freedom” wearing a 90 as a skirt is very restrictive. No sudden movements.
Great intro Julide! I am going to have fun reviewing all the Bond girl info. (And I'll really have to dig through the scarf drawer for some East European theme scarves!)

Off the top of my head, I guess I think of "Bond Girls" as being pretty, and a little mysterious and maybe a little sinister too...

And while I can't say I qualify in the "pretty" department, I think with a little help from Caducee Rock I've got mysterious and a tiny bit sinister under control.

My contribution honors Bond girl #7 Jill Masterson, who died from being spray painted gold in Goldfinger. It is Ex Libris Glam.

I have all kinds of other ideas for the theme based on location, significant plot details, manner of death. Let me share. Rather than mentioning the specific scarf, let me mention scarf content.

1 Honey Rider--Caribbean themed
9 Tilly Masterson--man's hat
10 Bonita--baths
12 Domino Deval--coral
14 Fiona Volpe--dancing
17 Kissy Suzaki--something Japanese
20 Helga Grant--fish
I like the wya you think!! I love the golden glam on you!!:ps:I have the silver version:flowers:

Great intro and such a fun theme with multiple possibilities!

But, @bunnycat ... my tango-dancing-feline-loving-leather-wearing-scarfie! You are the epitome of the Bond Girl!

Such a marvelous design! I can’t believe I have two CWs in their boxes and we can’t even go out! Waaaaah!

So beautiful!

Best CW of PeC!

Love this post! So informative and so clever!
Given that our theme this week will focus on Russian and Eastern European designs, themes and influences, here are my scarves created by Polish artist Jan Bajtlik.
First of all, Animapolis. The fanciful fictional city of the illustration was inspired on the architecture of Warsaw, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev and New York. Down below are some details that show the onion-domes and Cracovian folk dancers.

And, finally, his Cosmographia Universalis

Fun & interesting theme; boy am I ready for something light hearted! I’m so grateful for you & other fab’ scarf mistresses as well as others who are here sharing in whatever way they feel inclined to. You all create a silky, safe haven!

I’ve been thinking about this one and amazed at how varied the color ways are. This combination is unexpected, but I love it & it looks fab’ on you!!

I’m so glad! :P You tie it beautifully :drinks:

I missed out on last week’s fun due to some unexpected projects, but jumping in with a short brown buttery leather trench & Bolduc... when worn together evoke a feeling (at least in my head) of being a total alluring bad*ss; a-la Bond Girl. :coolio:
Yes, the weekly themes. They are wonderful allows me to look into others and my own collections. Fabulous to see how everyone styles their scarves. :flowers:

Just to add a few more Bond girls inspiration....

#5 Zora: the wrestling gypsy girl. I can see her wearing peuple du vent pirate style!

#29 Solitaire: a tarot reader, naturally she would wear Le Tarot! But how does a tarot reader wear her scarves? Any ideas?

#Saida: the belly dancer. I could see her wearing tapis volant perhaps tied asymmetrically around her hips.

#45 Bono Dahl is an ice skater. I think she would wear le plaisirs du froid or joies d’hiver. Perhaps in pink.

#47 Octopussy: was surrounded by circus folk, so I think cirus scarf would fit her nicely.

All images found from google searches.
