My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Thank you. :flowers: I love lady bags and have a number of them. They are perfect for dates with DH.

I am honored by your compliment. Thank you. I used your pic of your Noel as inspiration on how to tie it today.

Thank you. I lucked out and got my in an auction at a steal price.

You style your outfits so well. If you think it was perfectly styled, the combination must not be as weird as I think.:giggle:

Brown is the new red? And yes we had a very good time.

I am going to post a picture of our Isle of Seaford appetizer. Can you believe the size of this thing? This was the half order. I can hear you asking "This relates to scarves how?" I am always terrified of getting food on my scarves. When the waitress put this between us, I saw flashing lights saying Danger! Danger! Danger! I ate the two driest items--the already shelled crab and the shrimp. Gave DH the raw oysters, the crab leg, and the lobster. As DH put it, you can take a lobster out of the water, but you can't take the water out of the lobster. I am happy to report my Noel came home totally free from seafood attacks.

Thank you for the report of your holiday dinner, complete with visuals. You sound like a very tidy person.

Me, I would whip off that scarf, stuff it into my purse, and attack that seafood feast!

Joining the parade of Noel au 24 Faubourg. This scarf so amuses me because brown is not the first color that comes to mind when I think of Christmas. Also joining the parade of color combinations that should only be worn at Christmas. I am carrying my Bordeaux Piano and wearing red shoes to compliment the brown.

We received a Christmas basket today that was decorated with sleigh bells. The tinkle was so delightful that I attached them to my bag. DH and I are headed out for an early Christmas Eve dinner at a steakhouse. I will be sharing the sound of sleigh bells with the other dinners as I walk in. Just trying to share the joy.

And finally for those suffering with inches or feet of snow in their yards, you will notice we have none. It is 73 degree here.

Holy cow, cordie. That is some app! and a half, no less. I have been known to engage in unladylike behavior such as removing a carre when faced with delicious but messy fare! You are a better - and clearly more restrained - woman than I am!!!

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! I'm on duty in the office today and found this interesting reference to a festive celebration on this day.

The menu wouldn't fly in my household as we run the gamut from fish lovers to fish haters :amuse: but since fish are a symbol of fortune and plenty for me, here are seven fishy scarves to celebrate the Feast of the Seven Fishes
Clockwise from top left: La Vie Precieuse, Secrets de Minos, Canadian Wild, Ecume, De la Mer au Ciel, A Contre Courant and in the centre Les Truites.

My SOTD is one of my very few summer silks: Kachinas, worn with a small enamel-patterned napkin ring.

You are amazing... What a fascinating post! And, that napkin ring!! Fabulosity!!

Thanks to everyone for their sweet comments yesterday. About to run into the office, so I will reply later. In the meantime, I don't think I could get away with this at any other time of year. But maybe today? L'ivresse de l'infini. View attachment 4937069
Oooh, perfect! And, such an amazing outfit... So beautifully festive

Absolutely gorgeous, Fifi! I adore that pin and earrings set. I agree about IP and intended to model it before the week’s end. It’s festive in its own right, as you point out, and another feature is that it celebrates the palm tree, which flourish in the Holy Land. Psalm 92:12:
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (King James Bible)
So very true... Perfect for the holidays in every way

My restraint comes from the rarity of me being spiffed up. After 2 professional careers, now I do a lot of manual labor and mostly wear ratty tee shirts and cutoffs. When the polished me emerges, I don't want to cut it a minute short. Besides, this was an appetizer and I was trying to save myself for the entree and dessert.
