My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

You wear purple beautifully and so does your sweet Scheherazade (perfect name for her!)

Thank you, agrume. The snow is lovely. We got less than predicted with the storm shift - just over a foot. Shelby's husky side comes out with the snow - she has been bouncing around in the snow like she has springs on her feet and trying to run on our walks like she is pulling a sled! Here is a photo from the evening while the snow was falling.View attachment 4932621

Thanks, karenska! The fantasy scarves as my SA calls them are not a go-to style of for me. The cw is so important for it to work for me. But I do love this one. (I also love @bunnycat 's red... I confess having had that one in and out of my cart several times!)
How pretty!

you have quite a collection, Karenska! My favourite is your dark Tyger Tyger - I am usually not so in for animal prints, but I love this one in those colours.
Dear Agrume, thank you for your kind compliment. I love everything about this scarf. First, an homage to a favorite poem, the tyger is so beautiful sitting in the peaceful night, and the colorway! I always thought I’d get the blue or the turquoise cw, but when this appeared on eBay for a favorable price, I took a chance and was not disappointed. Flat it looks brick-orange, but tied, the midnight blue and prune are showcased and the hem is either dark navy or black - can’t determine - but it sets off the dark colors beautifully. :hbeat:

:hugs: Thank you so kindly, dear CanuckBagLover. I appreciate your generous compliment. Yes, my little girl is a domestic longhair with serious Persian breed looks. The wide horizontal face, the large round eyes, the luxurious coat; she definitely has royal blood running through those kitty veins. :hbeat: Her coat is much longer now for that photo was taken just after she was groomed. In full coat, she is part yak . Here she in July, coat growing out, wearing Jungle Love Love twilly. Had to work fast with that shot! C22F8B8D-C8F0-4366-A7B5-F9BEE87DADA2.jpeg

Off-topic, but my actual SOTD is Carre Kantha, keeping me warm in my tundra of an office.

I've been wearing this non-stop lately. It's especially nice that it's preloved; I don't worry about being super careful with it, and I think I'll mostly go preloved on CSGMs from here on out. I love it so much that another CSGM is on its way to me for Christmas, but it's been "In Transit, Arriving Late" for nearly a week now.

It's beautiful and I completely understand going the pre-loved route. A snag (or a ding on a preloved K) hurts a whole lot less than one on a brand new and pristine scarf (or purse).
I don't know what's going on with the mail/delivery services... I know it's a lot and more than last year - but they knew it was coming right? It comes every year at this time - right? I have a pair of earrings that have been out in the USPS wilds for almost 10 days now...

Just popping in to present the love of my life: the special edition Cosmographia Universalis 90 (for the brighter future of Hong Kong). Purple banner so I’m on theme! No connections to get this beauty, just relentless stalking on Vestiaire until I lucked out. (Relentless is a mild word, I really wanted this scarf!) CU is my all time favorite design and I’m so happy to add this scarf to my collection of pastel CU scarves. For fun, I tied all three together :P.

Time to ride the Purple Train. All archive photos over the last year or so :happydance:. Spooky purple in Legende Kuna Peuple de Panama twilly. I do wear this on Halloween sometimes.View attachment 4932611
And bright, fun purples in La Source du Pegase, which I wore this Halloween. Exactly! I find the 90 silks somewhat less scary to keep neat, maybe because I mostly wear them to work and not much around my toddler, but the CSGM I wear a lot more around the house. And they're just so big--part of what makes them nice and cozy! But also makes it harder to wrangle all that material and keep it safe from snags.

I know it's an insane year for mail delivery--unprecedented volume, attempting to socially distance in the warehouses, and LOTS of carriers out sick. I wouldn't even mind getting this item late, I'm mostly nervous about it getting dropped on my porch when I'm not home. We can put a mail hold for our address, but in the past that actually hasn't even stopped the packages from getting dropped off, just the regular letter mail.
