My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

I’m thrilled to add a 140 Sieste to my collection! I dithered on cws - I was paralyzed between this blue and the one with the bright yellow sky. The blue won out! You know you made the right decision when you get home and have no qualms about taking the tag off! I now have it in a 140 and two 90s:

Joannadyne, you ROCK that blue!

Hello scarfies !
Sotd today : jardin à Sintra worn as a top
Not on theme (i think it only exists in 90?)
Have a great day everyone !

OMG, this is stunning! I wish I had the figure to rock a scarf like you do!

Going lah-di-dah today with my Pivoines tied cravate-style to show off my favourite corner. It looked lovely until I went outside and the wind blew it into my face!!

Gorgeous! (And yeah- that why I wouldn't do that....It would be in my face in under 5 minutes....)

Pautinka, bunny, @Joannadyne : Can you ladies please explain to me how you wear scarves without getting make up stains? I am already scared of a bit of lip gloss :-s

@Joannadyne introduced me to the joys of matte lipstick a while back so I tend to wear that now when I wear my scarves. I do have to moisturise my lips more with it though but it's worth it to not get stains on my scarves. If I don't wear colour on my lips I use lipbalm which I have recently started making myself as I find it longer-lasting than shop-bought stuff and less greasy. Of course, if I am wearing a tightly-wrapped scarf with no flappy bits I go for full-on gloss!!! Hope this helps.

thank you, does help indeed

My SOTD is my Faubourg Rainbow CSGM, which accompanied me to a celebratory dinner at a wonderful Japanese restaurant. I don't own the other formats but I know it was issued in a gavroche format (featuring only one corner of the design) and a twilly.

Well i posted my Faubourg Rainbow CSGM as SOTD the other day which reminded that I'd been wanting to get the twilly... So as a little birthday present to myself today I acquired the twilly version. I just love the exuberance and vibrant colors of this design. It works wonderfully as a headband, too!

Thank you!! You would look great in one, too! Just sayin’... :graucho:

Thank you! There is no high like an H high!

Thank you, dear Croisette! I love your delicate pink cw, too - that one never made it into my store (at least I don’t think). I would’ve loved to have tried it on. You just couldn’t go wrong with any of the cws!

I totally agree! It’s very interesting - I wouldn’t have looked at that cw normally but Fifi’s photos were so convincingly gorgeous, I had to try it on to see for myself!

Awww, thank you, dear!

Ooh, yes, please do - the giant silk is a fabulous format!! And which cws do you have in the 90s? I think Aline Honore is the artist I have the most multiples of, and I know many others feel the same, so we’re in good company!

Pautinka, I loooooove your cw so much - it would’ve been my cw of choice had I not owned the hot pink 90 and had my store gotten one so I could try it on. If they had, I’m not sure I could’ve resisted it! But the blue filled a hole in my collection and I felt the need to broaden my color palette of primarily purples and pinks. And the high contrast of the white on the trees was so insanely beautiful. The only reservation was the red - I thought the red on the shells was too bricky at first. I’ve since attributed that opinion to temporary insanity. And you’re so right, the design translates so well in scale on the large format.

I know!! It was the first time I actually experienced the magic of neutrals! Usually neutrals wash me out but there’s something about all the gradations of grey that make this one special.

Omg, your losanges are fabulous!!! I need to pay more attention to them.

Hahaha, thanks! It’s actually easy to do at home (though I do get the highlights bleached at the salon). The hardest part is mixing the colors and getting what you wanted! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve colored it and waited for it all to dry so I can see if it was the color I was aiming for.

Oh, haha, I realized I’ve cropped all the pics to show off the scarf and am not showing too much hair. I’ll post others so you can see it. It’s not a perfect match but I’m happy with it. Thank you, too, for being such a wonderful enabler!

Thanks! Which rainbow? The bold or pastel? I tried both and actually liked the pastel for me but the bold one is wonderful, too. That contrasting cobalt hem is awesome.

Oh and to remain in theme, I do have Jungle Love in a CSGM:

My sister in Sieste! You look fab in all of these! Am very jelly you have two more scarves than I do and in such scrumptious cws!
Thank you so much! And, so happy to be blue Sieste twinsies! The enabling is definity mutual... I adore the pastels JLR on you... Saw that one IRL and it is amazing

Fantabulous! You really do look great in the 140s. They are much easier to handle than many people think - especially the summer twill which packs right down to as small as you want it to be. SaP is a design where you could easily buy every single CW as each one looks so different and has a vibe of its own.
Thank you so much! And, so true about Sieste... I am still considering yet another CW of the giant silk!

This looks so amaZing on you!

This corner of Pivoines is so wonderful! I love to show it off, too!

Amazed by your scarf riches again! All stunning, but completely blown away by that PdV moussie changeant... That silk is pure decadent magic!

Just for you, Cookie, a close-up of the man and his horse. A sweet tpfer offered this to me as she decided to get another exceptionelle instead.

I adore Nomura's designs. And I'm envious of your Jardin Anglaise. I missed that one.
OMGOMGOMG! You own this exceptional?! Simply amazing! Have you worn it? You are one lucky gal

Kachinas has been done in many (many!) variations - CSGM, 90cm, triangle, maxi-twilly and in the wash scarf.

My EL is from 1946 (I *think* - making it my oldest scarf) and Madras EL bandanna is from 2019. I think this bandana is going to be in its ‘terrible twos’ for a long time - it’s incorrigible!
All so gorgeous and you have natural panache! Love the madras... And, even though I adore pink Kachinas, that second CW work with the white blouse is fabulous! What CW is that?

Somehow I managed to be off-topic today. Maiden voyage of new-to-me L'Ivresse! I'm so pleased with this one. And I adore the subject matter - so arty and science-y at the same time.

I love this design and don’t wear mine enough... Just love your CW!

Scarf mail!
I lost a darling moussie gav this summer, I’ve been very upset about it and have looked high and low searching for it. It’s an older scarf so I didn’t think I’d ever find another - but I did and I am so happy. Here’s my new cutie - La Musique des Spheres

Of course now I’ll find my first one... and that would make me very happy!
Oh, yay!! An amazing design that looks perfect in this almost finesse CW

Thank you! Mine is navy and a royal blue? I don’t know the actual CW, but after dithering back and forth - do I like this, do I not? - I finally decided that Yes - I do!
And thank you - I was heartbroken when I realized it was lost. It was my most worn gav, so I was thrilled to find another... this one - naturally was more expensive.
I own Jeu de Cartes both as a 90 and as a twilly

I just adore the “invisible” jacquard bee on Mr.Cat’s snoot :catlick:

You would never believe all three scarves had the same design Croisette. Each stunning in their own way but I do love the monochrome one with the striped t-shirt.
Agree! @lolakitten, @Croisette7 -All these stunning monochrome JL’s are making me realize I have a sad lack of spots in my collex :crybaby:

the 3-D enhancement of Mr.Bones & Mount give them a very Día de Muertos flavor. The stitched line work reminds me of the colorful raised icing on sugar skulls, etc. So yummy!

That EL is a gorgeous blue! I have a ‘46 sibling in bright yellow- so happy! :sunshine:

Ohmigosh! I bet it is! I’d love to see it!

.Jeu de Soie from a year or two ago. I'm wearing it with a silk duster in deep avocado green with a khaki toile de jouy contrast. Very hard to find HS that did not fight the toile. The 80's "scarf prints" of H for some reason didn't work. I saw the Jeu de Soie laying on top of a pile and found that the deep autumnal colors of olive, sienna, dark teal, various shades of gold, and pale pink worked reasonably well with the duster. Serendipity!

Hard to believe that your L’arbre dU vents are the same cw. Look very different the way you tied. Love all the vibrant colors on you!

I like the Danse Macabre flavour of CLF. @ABQ2ATL once twined it with Printemps Ete for a very nice Death & the Maiden effect. I need to get myself Printemps Ete in a cw which will go with my CLF...
And on an off-topic note: are sugar skulls pure sugar? I've never had one.
