My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

That is a delightful colorway, and it works so well for you.

Delightful!!

I own several myself, and always regret not having bought more...

Stunning on you -- you always look so good in. right colors.

Oh man, I thought it was me in the photo for a second. I am allergic to cashmere but have similarly colored silk shawls. So I approve

That Cosmographia is killer on you!

Looking so elegant!!!

Ohhhh I like all of these, but that mint colors is lovely.

stunning!

Thank you for all your research. I have mentioned before I find the Kachinas scarf unsettling, but I am delighted to learn more about its origins. We stayed at a hotel in Phoenix that had a Kachinas GSCM framed in the lobby, and some tourist shops were selling Kachinas trinkets -- I am always really excited to see any appreciation of the native heritage.

Lovely scarves -- love the double one!

All beautiful! And what a cute doggie

I admire your ability to wear green (or teal perhaps?) together with red. I would just look like poinsettia, but it works on you so well.

Thank you -- it is a good color for me. If I start falling for Kermit Oliver's scarves, this hobby will turn so much more dear...
Thank you! I know there are others who find it unsettling, my hope is that after this week it will be less so. :hugs:
a great antidote indeed, Croisette! Grey, cold and wet here today.

great introduction, Cookie, thank you! Amazing design, I had not realised this before. I have to think hard what to bring up this week.

Love both on you, Naessi!
Thank you! We’re looking forward to your discoveries!
:faint:
Stunning - I love the green!

The beauty is in its simplicity and gorgeous colours. Another one to add to my list. Have a Happy day.
Thanks, hotgalaxy! I hope you find one, or I hope one finds you. Sometimes it works that way, right?
Très chic! So classy!
Thanks, Langsam!
What a treasure  Congrats!

I’m also a big fan & have struggled to keep my count to two
I’m always a bit sad when I see vintage designs that have been through the wringer.

Love this pairing! :girlsigh:

Yes! I have you to thank for enabling my search

Lovely Moma! How prettily you wear it
Thanks so much.

Thanks!
La Serpentine de Pierre Charpin is actually a tricky scarf to tie. Some day I will figure out the best way to showcase the horsey!

Team Scarf Mistress(s)

I am early awaiting the schedule for 2021. When do you expect it to come out? I consider it to be an early Christmas present. Anticipation.
Dear @Cordeliere
It is almost ready. So glad you are thrumming in anticipation and hope that our 2021 brainchild will be a source of inspiration and temptation for you :hugs:

Today, I’m starting on the outer circle of Kachinas, beginning with the Kachina just over the Hermès Paris, moving clockwise. 80888A48-A536-488A-8428-7595D19D2CFC.jpegBEEC9B15-D2E4-459D-90E5-C108C4E90E6C.jpeg5740818C-9BA9-4FAD-80B4-E7850E059C3D.jpeg93F6C4C3-CD6D-42BD-B41B-FD39DCE12252.jpeg03785038-5937-4936-AAF1-4F05A91770C7.jpeg
If this is the Snow Maiden above - or Nuvak’chin Mana - she is the Kachina who appears to pray for the return of cold weather, so the moisture in the earth gets replenished during the winter to be reborn in the new year.
