This week pull out all your scary or icky scarves (whatever that means to you!) and wear them with joyful abandon! Got some Linares? Now is the PERFECT time for it. Scary monsters from Sweet Dreams lurking under your bed?Put that scarf on! Fearsome dragons??? Yes, please! Wear anything fearsome, fearful or scary this week....There's gotta be a scarf or two with bats somewhere....or black cats.... (which are not fearsome OR scary in reality....unless they are stalking bugs and bringing them to you...
Fun fact: Did you know that Jack o lantern carving originated in Ireland, and were actually turnips since there were no pumpkins in Ireland?

Also, my apologies for being absent these past two weeks. I had a lot going on and had to limit my online presence to better take care of everything. I am happy to be back on this, the week of my favorite holiday: Halloween!
I’m going to start with Brides de Gala Shadow, because “shadows” are spooky... and, I can’t help thinking of the scary TV show, Dark Shadows when I was growing up... Talk about dating myself!
And, if you ask my dogs, this is the scariest thing in their whole wide world: fireworks! So, Pluie d’Etincelles

I was scared of even looking at this scarf for the silliest reason. A few years ago, a scarfie showed a beautiful scarf here: it was Ingrid and it had delicate drawings of insects on it. I jump up and flee when a cockroach wanders by, so Ingrid was a scary scarf to me. Along comes a design called Flies, and I assumed, "Argh! Insects!" Took me two years before I dared take a good look at it. These flies are fishing lures 
Beautiful and deadly. My father used to fish and I never dared touch his lures as those bright feathers hide a gleaming sharp hook.
The next scary scarf is nameless but @Julide found a reference that identified it as "Toile de Jouy". The delicate drawings are lovely and creepy with skeletal branches and animals rising from swathes of ribbon. I call it a phantasmogoria. A more current reference: Terminator 2 Judgement Day
when the T-1000 rises out of the checkerboard floor
This last design is popular: Mineraux. I have a lot of jewellery made from them so I definitely like mineral rocks. I also have a silly scary story. A long time ago when I was about 5 or 6 years old, my dad let me stay up late to watch a horror movie on TV. A crystalline asteroid crashed in the desert and started to grow, invading towns and killing people. I was terrified and thought this was actually happening. Several years later, the teacher set an essay topic "The Scariest Movie I ever Watched". I wrote about this of course. I remembered the title, the plot and how they destroyed the rocks, but I couldn't recall the hero's name. So I happily named him "John". The next week, when our essays were given back to us, the teacher asked to see me. Oh no! What did I do? She happily told me that she had watched that movie too. Oh no! She knows that I made up the hero's name! Luckily, she didn't call me out on that and I received a B for the essay.
Oh, the movie? It was called The Monolith Monsters, and the rocks were defeated by salt water (almost as good as the aliens who were defeated by Head and Shoulders shampoo
