This special edition scarf was issued for the re-opening of the Venice boutique in 2006.

Venice is known for its traditional food specialities with an abundance of fish dishes.
Rice is a mainstay on Venetian menus and I'm sharing a photo of DH enjoying risotto with a glass of wine.

Tomatoes form the basis of Italian cuisine, and we love Venetian tomato and oregano bruschetta which is quick and easy to prepare.

A trip to Venice wouldn't be complete without a Bellini cocktail, the classic cocktail invented by Guiseppe Cipriani head bartender of Harry's Bar in Venice!

So complex and beautiful. Mmmm...Bellinis. This thread has me already thinking about lunch...

Both gorgeous but I am so attracted to that green. It looks like Bambou. (I absolutely adore that color and have not one H thing in it. How can that be :confused1: I resolve to rectify this problem.)

Thank you! The green was a lucky find at a boutique. There's no H here so I normally shop online and figured I'd just never see it IRL.

Staying warm with JQ. Consider this a very late entry for neutrals week. I wanted to get a pic of my nail polish too - Zoya Kelly. But I needed both hands to take the picture, you'll have to use your imagination

Beautiful Langsam!

It was seriously too warm to wear a scarf at the night market tonight. I stopped to take a pic of the doner meat cones. DH of course thought that I'd gone bonkers - he was zeroing in on the vadai (Indian savoury fried donut). Let's just pretend that I'm there with Animapolis :amuse:

Ooh, I know! It was how she held the castle's keys, which morphed into jewelry from which useful small things hung. This web site says it better, and has cool pictures: http://rookskillcastle.com/2015/12/the-chatelaine/

(I am a fount of mostly-useless knowledge, sorry!)

Fizzy - such knowledge is invaluable - makes life and conversations, and even one’s own pleasure of knowing it, endlessly more fun:-)

Electrique - I read that D. Rybaltchenko meant this to represent festivals, a circus, or Broadway. Not sure if this is true but I could see that it could be! So festivals are fun - rides, games and festival food... also known as ‘If you can fry it and put a stick in it, it’s festival food’. Woot! Also caramel apples.
