As always - really inspiring to read all your comments and I love the eye candy !
I haven’t participated in a while, life’s going way too fast at the moment !
My learnings today :
- just because a design works great on others do not mean it will work for me
- a gorgeous design flat may not work when tied

I have learned that with this new-to-me baobab cat, sadly it doesn’t make my heart sing !
This is gorgeous on you - especially for autumn!!!!

I feel your pain. I'm the same way w/Baobab Cat. So glorious on others, but simply not my vibe.

Yayayayayayayaya! Go Tyger!

:hugs: RAWR!

So glad you were able to wear this! I thought of you when I saw a woman wearing this on Tuesday with a orange top and purplish/grey jacket.

Yes! Twin! I wore mine today as well. I see it looks great with charcoal. I wore mine with navy.

And beautiful it is! Perfect with your sweater.

Hee hee! Thank you scarf1! I will now have to rummage around in my drawers for an orange top!

Oh man- it looks FABBBBB on you! (try a different tie!!!) Try a Bova knot. That is a really becoming knot for this scarf. It's how I usually wear mine.

SOTD : My beloved beat-up Roues de Canon.

Oh nice!

I had a red SanSouci - wouldn't that work for you?

It would! But since you didn’t offer to re-home it to me, I missed out :biggrin: I will have to take a look online, I really have never seen a red one.

My learning this week is that I need to learn more about my scarves. I confess I'm a "pretty color & design" person and tend not to research the designs. As my collecting slows down though, I see this as yet another way to continue enjoying the journey. Here is SOTD, Jardins Sur les Toits from current season.

Well, I grab if it it’s red, so I am with you on that. I do enjoy researching scarf’s history though. This gavroche really work on you!

It looks really amazing on you though! Too bad it didn’t work out. I couldn’t make it work for me, either.

Looks perfect with your red lipstick

Just out of curiosity I wonder if a Hermès scarfie shops lipstick with a scarf, showing the scarf and saying you are looking for this specific colour or you pick a colour and match it with a scarf at home or you manage to choose them separately and find later out it’s a perfect match because it’s your favourite colour?

Good question!

Since said scarfie has over 50 red scarves (more if we are being honest), it would be hard to find enough red lipsticks!

I do have a lot of Chanel and Tom Ford red lipsticks (they make the best reds in my opinion) so usually I can find something to match; I think I must have around 10 red ones. It also helps that I prefer warm / orange-based reds, so that means things in that color family generally go together.

What’s crazy though is just how each red scarf has a different shade of red! Hermes never repeats them. The wonders of Hermes!

Sounds like an eclectically enticing decoration - wonderful for conversations.

I actually am thinking of framing mine, but we are so short on walk space. My husband and I have been collecting art very aggressively... it’s great, but no real room to put up scarves.

Jeesh. Why aren't my photos posting even though they have uploaded? Twice in two days. Sorry.

Oh like this knot! Good color on you too!

Off topic - though I’m certain there could be some research done on this cutie - and stuck in a plane on the runway. “Too much traffic in the air” :hrmm:
So travel photo - sorta - in my Iris gav

And we’re rolling again so TTFN!

You really can pull off gavroches!

I'm not Japanese and the last time I learnt and spoke the language was almost 40 years ago, so don't take my word for this. I think Daisuke and Daiske are variants and the "u" is not vocalized. The first sentence I learnt in Japanese was "watashi wa xincinsin desu" (I am xincinsin). And the teacher impressed on us that the "u" is silent in "desu". Which is also why I was widening my search using the kanji characters as well as the Romanized form of his name.

I wonder if there are other H designers who either use a cipher as their signature or whose native language is not Romanized and so sign off in Cyrillic or Chinese or Australasian language.

It’s an interesting question — I cannot think of a single example. Evgenia Miroshnichenko (Zabavushka, Alphabet Russe) is Russian, but her signature is the anglicized version of her name. Not sure if there are any Chinese designers — are there?

Excellent job!
(how did you do it?)

Thank you! :flowers:
Again quite by accident, folded it horizontally, slipped one side through a ring ( I just use my normal rings). Started to pull the opposite end from bottom of ring upwards but just used the very center of the folded end to get it started, by then clearly the ring didn’t have enough width for the entire side to go through and there it remained looking like I’d been strategic about it, not sure I’ll be able to recreate.

I also carried on my cgsm stole in a pouch just in case I need extra warmth in church. But that didn't have any opportunities to be used at all.

Oh dear! The minute I sold mine, I saw a bunch of others pop up on evilbay. I'll keep a lookout for you!
