Do some of the scarves in your scarf drawer have siblings? Did you maybe hit the Xerox copy button a few times when you saw a favorite scarf in another format? Have an original issue and then loved the remake as well? If so- this week is for you!

14 April 2019 FRATERNAL TWINS: same but not the same

This week we are celebrating scarves that have fraternal twins in your drawer (or maybe you're a fraternal twin with someone else this week and can post that? Maybe you have the original and they have a re-release or variation!) Put on your sideways thinking cap and hop in to your scarves!


I'll start with one of my favorites, Mythiques Phoenix. Luckily, I have managed to keep from having this one in multiples of the same format but when I first saw this pocket square online at H dot com I HAD to have it....

It was soon followed with a twilly (rehomed now)

I never actually intended to have multiples of Art des Steppes...but when I found a color coordinated tie of it for my pocket square....wellll....I decided it was going to have a sibling and MrBcat was just going to have to learn to like a tie that had a pattern on it!

I tried to do that with a La Rosee CSGM. I have one that is a lovely aqua with white and pink roses. Unfortunately it also has a border of an olive color that is about 3 or 4 inches wide and is a color I cannot wear. I took it in to H to see if they would cut the border down, preferably to a contrast hem. Alas, I was told that they will not undertake such a thing as it would modify the original design. However, they would do so if the scarf needed a repair.

I am scared to intentionally damage such a beautiful piece, but I have never worn it as is. Ugh...

Ooh, that La Rosee sounds absolutely wonderful! When finally tracking down my 140 moussie one in orangey tones and a changeante to boot, all bewitched by Cookiefiend’s HG, I was initially a little concerned by the big “empty” border space. However, it can be tied so many ways to highlight the pattern that “border concern” is now a thing if the past. If you’ve got time and opportunity, please post a picture of your scarf - I’ve never seen this CW

Why not just re-frame "covet" as "be inspired by"??? LOL. I know this probably doesn't work. This orange trim is so fun. Also it's swift (actually called gulliver in 1997), which I love.

That’s a great collection!

Here is my La Rosee double mousseline, I have a carre in that design (with a very wide white border, as it were). If I look miserable, that’s because seasonal allergies have been killing me this week.
