Great intro @Cookiefiend ! What a fun theme, and so may delightful examples already shared!

I think I have a handful of silly/whimsical scarves. I love how Hermes does whimsy!
I thought I'd start with the silly slide on La Maison des Carres. And are those my PJs, you ask? Yes, yes they are :P

 beautiful!
A new scarf and one that's quite special, Pegase Paysage for Saut Hermès 2019, which I excitedly wore and forgot to photograph sans wrinkles! :amuse: There are only 2 cw's - this blue with turquoise, and a pale pink with yellow and red. It's a carre wash, too! Soft and velvety and does not (to my mind) look/ feel like an old, much-used scarf, which was my "objection" to the other designs in carre wash. Never say never with H!!

This is marvelous!
I was looking through my scarf drawer this morning, thinking that I don't have a lot of "cute" things in it. I tend to favor very graphic designs or classic and traditional motifs* and I had a sudden insight into why that is...

As a small 5'1" woman, I've been called "cute" all my life. And as a 12-year professional, it's quite irritating. While I adore cute things, I try to avoid wearing them and I go for the most serious clothes I can muster. I think this also explains my penchant for androgynous dressing (with trousers, button-down shirts, blazers, and lace up oxford shoes) and my lack of jewelry (aside from a minimalist watch).

Still, Hermes does inject whimsy into everything. So most of my scarves contain a good dose of something quirky. Here's one of my favorites with "pink sprinkles" on it. With the weather warming up, I might need to put it away for the season soon.

*side note: Alice Shirley might be an exception. I've suddenly and inexplicably been binging on her designs
Perfect pink sprinkles!
Alice Shirley must be made an exception for - they are such fun scarves! :hbeat:

Whimsy is hidden in this scarf with such a serious and uplifting theme: the carp swimming upstream to leap the gate to transform into dragons. The drawing style is traditional and not comical. I chose a dramatic cw that makes the river look like a churning flow of lava. And then, when you look closely, you find five cartoony dragonflies hovering here and there. And my favourite carp is gazing hungrily at his "appetizer". Makes me wonder if this is the H meta method of reminding us to pause and smell the roses as we climb the ladder of success.
A Contre Courant

Gloriously OT, mods please delete if inappropriate - don’t know where else to post - just visited H at Heathrow. When asking in English but pronouncing the name of the two scarves I was interested in in French, the SA just stared at me, I then showed her the names written in French. She then took my phone with the written names to the head honcho, however none of them had any idea of which scarves I meant. She asked for pictures and only then managed to identify the scarves. I find this quite bad management as they are selling luxury goods at premium prices. She admitted they had no training in French and had no idea what the scarf names meant. Sorry, rant over:-)

I was so close to buying this design, it was that season when there were so many great designs and cws. So charming

Such a cute scarf, especially in this CW.

I love this fun design! Great CW, too! And fantastic drape showing the slide

Fantastic! Still on my wishlist!

Silly and fabulous! Such great examples! And, I feel the same about his whimsical cityscapes, especially the slides: I want to jump right in!

You are so lucky to own this special scarf! I can tell it ties beautifully!

Oh, I totally get it... but, you’re right about the fact that there is so often a touch of humor, fantasy and whimsy injected in Hermès designs! Love this one and how it looks on you

SO pretty! I love these colors.

This scarf always makes me smile!

Love the Ugo G scarves!

The pink sprinkles really make this scarf IMO.

That blue jay is so sweet!
ok, the spaceman on FI has to be one of the most unexpected and incongruous things I've seen on an H scarf yet.

That’s really beautiful! Are those 2 different colorways or are they like the 2-in-1 split color? Either way, love:heart:. Also like your interpretation!
It's the same scarf, but photos taken under different lighting. The red/pink river and the black background split the scarf diagonally, which is why I have red/pink on one shoulder and black on the other.

Wow, that is a very hidden monkey on Chapeau, had no idea.
I looked three times before I found that monkey!

I think I read on the SOTD thread either last year or the year before that he represents India's first astronaut - Rakesh Sharma.
(But I couldn't find the reference!)

Every little inch of Grand Prix Au Faubourg is immensely whimsical. The two figures that always make me laugh: the horse wearing the skirt and the guy lying on the ground with his legs on the bench. I keep asking why???
