Oh my. I acquired a dozen scarves this year. That's a lot! Last season was really excellent. I bought a record-breaking 4 new ones. Two of my new acquisitions were gifts, so maybe my rate of acquisition wasn't that bad...?

The "most-worn" awards are really surprising! The #1 most-worn goes to a surprising dark horse candidate: Washington's Carriage wash scarf, a recent impulse purchase. It is cozy and easy to wear around the house.

The close runner up is Jaguar Quetzal - another surprise. That was a gift from my sweetheart. I would probably not have picked it out at the store because I don't usually go for earthy tones. But this particular scarf proved to be so versatile.

The second runner up is another surprise - everyone's favorite design to complain about - the BdG. Another gift from Mr. FR, it ties so nicely and gives me a very respectable air when I wear it.

I was happy to score some old personal grails, including Hola Flamenca and Tuiga. And I snapped up the ZP I regretted passing up.

I regret the SaP a little bit. I find the plume silk too thin for warmth when it's cold and too much for warm summer weather. It is a bit crispy in texture and doesn't sit and drape the way my other heavier twill 140s do. It was worth a try, but I don't think I'd get another plume silk 140.

Overall, a great year for my collection!

Beautiful scarves!

Not a winner in any category except the "I finally remembered" award. When my kids were little, and when I was very little, we loved to ride the merry-go-round. I grew up within a 15 minute walk to an amusement park, so carousels are an important childhood memory for me. One of my memories of Paris is an exquisite carousel on a hill, found when roaming aimlessly about town. My kids took many a ride on the carousel at the hilltop casino's theme park, and I always tell myself to bring an appropriate design for a Scarf on Site shot. I always forget. This time, I finally remembered bare hours before departure. SOTD yesterday and today: Luna Park (at last :P ) (The drippy sunglasses are because just before these shots, I happily went for a horror house experience - Train to Busan with zombies. Unfortunately, not scared: media folk immunity   )

Luna Park is such a pretty scarf, xincinsin, and looks lovely on you. I have considered it myself, except it seems to resemble Paperoles, which I own in a wheat/gold cw. I have a rule not to buy similar-looking scarves, repeat designs, or redundant colorways, for a number of reasons, not least my wallet .

What a gorgeous collection, Fugitive Rouge. I bought seven this year myself :happydance:, which is the most I’ve ever bought in a calendar year.

Great year indeed! Love your post. I totally understand your appreciation of the wash silk. Mine is the scarf I find the most easy to wear.

What an amazing year for you! I missed out on JQ, but am seriously thinking about it in the CW you & @dublineuse have - it’s beautiful!

I have four Luna Parks. It's one of my fave designs. I put Paperoles in the "handicraft: quilling" category in my mind, so there's no design overlap for me. I do have some misgivings though over similarities in cws: too many scarves in red + blue, since that combi seems to be quite common in vintage designs. You don't get to choose cws when buying vintage :oh:

2019 was a banner year at H - especially the FW season. So many gorgeous scarves. My 2 favorites are La Cite Cavalière and Index Palmrum - both very warm and I love the green in IP. I wore it yesterday, and because I was waiting for Mr Cookie (#meninvolved), I played around with it!

And now a special Oscarf award. We all know that sometimes our family and friends don’t quite understand how we feel about our scarves - it’s just a piece of fabric and expensive at that. Mr Cookie - while he’s not so sure about the scarves - knows that I love them and doesn’t mind (too much) that I can’t resist them. My DS2 has been watching me and learning about the scarves; sometimes when I get a fabulous scarf in, I show it to him and we go over the details. He gets how much joy they bring to me.
This Christmas, he bought a scarf for me - one he loved and thought was perfect for me. I can’t tell you how much this means to me

Interesting comment, xincinsin. So true about the older designs. I don’t have a large collection so periodically I pull them all out to review my colors, etc.
