This BdG has been singing a siren song to me lately...
I’m so glad to see you wearing it tied as a shrug! I wore a shrug-scarf to an event last spring and hoped it was stylish... you look effortlessly chic!
I have friend who did the same in the US- white ball gown and all. I enjoy a good Regency era read, but until then had no idea those social rituals still existed...

Thank you!!
That's a lovely pink PdV!
Thank you!
It is a 90.
This is a very exuberant double plisse, I don't think it had ever been worn! I am fighting a terrible rash on my neck (zomg what a pain in my booty this has been and I have zero idea what caused it) and EVERYTHING bothers my neck right now. So - it was a little scratchy last night. I think that with time the pleats might relax a bit and it will be softer - and hopefully this rash will go away!
I was amused last night; as the evening progressed, the bias fold loosened, and the scarf changed it's springy-ness. It was very pretty. When I got home though, I took it off - and - BOING! It went right back into it's very tight folds.
It's fascinating to look at and play around with, it's like a slinky!![]()
I'm going to dance all around the topic of dancing now (pun intended)
When you are invited to the ball, you need to look your best. So out comes the gown, on goes the make-up, and then you add sparkle with a treasured set of jewelry.
Etude Pour Une Parure de Gala, worn here with Kelly en Perles and a bonus pic of a tiny Cinderella carriage from the H collection.

Once you are all dolled up, you step into your carriage.

And then you make your grand entrance, all eyes on you as you sweep into the ballroom.

You are approached by dashing young men, and you promise them a dance, noting down their names in your dance cards.
My SOTD Carnets de Bal, with three dance card holders: fan-shaped made from carved bone, a rectangular silver box, and an oval holder with the god Hermes dancing on it.

How does the evening go? I'll leave that to your imagination![]()
Belles du Mexique today. I seem to tie my scarves the same.... but it’s a comfortable tie for a plisse and good with a V-neck sweater.
Another Peuples du Vent moussie - this one a 140 Bandana! There is dancing everywhere, but the ladies on the corners are my favorites... and the dogs - but that goes without saying!
This morning when I got in the car, Ottmar Liebert’s song ‘Surrender 2 Love’ started playing - I knew I had made the right choice!
