The thought of a Chinese princess who has suitor after suitor beheaded is pretty bloodthirsty frightening. The sea creatures can look a bit scary, too... Turandot

And, the horror of just disappearing into the sea: Atlantis
View attachment 4578126

To me, tattos are scary not because of the finished product which can be beautiful due to the artistry involved... I just have a problem with the actual process involving needles and the skin. Kawa Ora is designed by a Maori tattoo artist using traditional patterns that he often uses in his tattoo art

And the benevolent yet somewhat scary monsters of Sweet Dreams

These are super creative interpretations of the weekly theme

On-theme today with my Halloween colored Cheval a la Couverture CSGM. (Plus the horsie is in costume! And looks kinda creepy!)

This is a purchase that I've come to regret and have only worn once. I'm planning to rehome it but at least I can share it once here.

It looks really good on you! Why do you not like it?

Sweet dreams for theme week though the creatures are not creepy at all in this colorway...

Love this Caduce Rock Shibiri silk tie dye for just about any occasion.

View attachment 4577801

Ah I love that Caduce Rock! Would love this design for myself with the tie dye.

Truly Halloween chic!

Both so beautiful... I’m such a sucker for these candy-colored scarves! (See what I did there?) :amuse:
**wait, what knot did I miss?! This looks fab’!**
@tlamdang08, @bunnycat & @Cookiefiend

Thnx :P I bought it mostly for the red ladybugs and had thoughts to deplisse it (but haven’t gotten up the nerve yet).

Love it! I’m a total Nightmare b4 Xmas fan and now have to google Auslander to conjure the mash-up.

My contribution today is kinda a stretch: VIF Argent. My rationale is that some form of the mercury liquid depicted in this design historically was used in shaping felt hats. Sadly the mercury slowly poisoned the hatters over time causing slurred speech, tremors, and other neurological symptoms. SCARY! right?

Mercury can be scary, you are spot on here!

Well, I only have archive pics to add here. First up is awoo
View attachment 4578027
Then, my three persona. First is two gavroche tied together.
View attachment 4578029
Finally, a 90 cm Persona
View attachment 4578034

Did you post the Personas because they are a bit 'scary'? Or it is just me who finds them to be that way?

Kachinas scares m every time......

I am with you... I appreciate the culture significance, but every time I saw it in the store, it made me uncomfortable!

This is so interesting. Thank you for that educational bit. Agree, definitely scary.

I love the inaugural wear. Is there a name for it... the unfolding? The breaking?

Asking for a friend
Haha! Or maiden voyage? Initial spin? It’s always a happy moment

PdT has some truly dynamite colorways and I’ve been tempted numerous times, but always desist based on your reasoning. If I had Spanish ancestry, one of these (especially this luscious cw) would probably be in my stash.
It looks gorgeous on you.
Thanks so much... If I didn’t have Spanish ancestry I would stay far away from this one... I feel the same about the military or war scarves

Indeed! :giggle:

:giggle: I burst out laughing - but yes! Mr Lionfish! Scary! :giggle: (Also :panic:)

I get it - and we thank you for sharing with us.
We can’t change the past, but we can improve for today and tomorrow.
My pleasure... I totally agree

It's those eye holes again! (It looks baboon though but I understand. You know when you know that it just isn't going to work out....)

Lionfish definitely works for this week!

The pink and yellow is luscious together!
I agree... Love that CW

No scarf today as I'm in bed with the flu. Well, there's always fever dreams to put some horror in my favorite scarves
Mum didn't vet the comics I read when I was a kid. I think she was just happy that we liked to read. So some of the titles were of the Twilight Zone variety. One story told of a young man who wanted to emulate Bellerophon. He laid in wait at the fabled spring and jumped on the flying horse when it came to drink. Unfortunately, he forgot that Bellerophon had a golden bridle to tame Pegasus. The flying horse flew uncontrolled into the mountains and bucked him off atop a nest of newly hatched foals who made a gory meal of him.
The tale made a strong impression on me and I did some research into Pegasus' diet :smartass: Nope, didn't find anything. Figured the person who wrote the plot borrowed from the many folktales of demon horses, and the bloody birth of Pegasus who sprang forth from the blood spilt by Medusa's decapitation.

Great post... Hope you feel better soon, dear

Extra credit for Spiders - woot!
The movie The Incredible Shrinking Man was scary from an unusual perspective - what was normal became abnormal (or Abby Normal )
View attachment 4578672
the lovely cat tries to catch you and eat you, the little spider becomes a mortal enemy.
View attachment 4578673
Flamboyant Web (altered by me - I tie-dyed it)
View attachment 4578671
I am amazed at how you tie-dyed that scarf! Amazing! And, I so adore Young Frankenstein...One of my all-time favs

This one is not scary at all.
A gorgeous Fall CSGM.
Voyage En ‘Etoffes
Ties beautifully

:P:biggrin:Orange for Halloween but without scary creatures :girlsigh:
Beautiful

In under the wire with Awooooo and my new cheapo sweater (did you know TJ Maxx is TK Maxx in Germany? weird).

I am a goth not wearing eyeliner on Halloween. Man, I'm slipping.

Also, I found the site for my poster from my last post: https://www.wolfgangphilippi.de/ - amusing "archaeological" layers of cities' history...

And finally, happy Reformation Day! Last year today was the 500th anniversary of Luther nailing paper to a door, so now it is a formal holiday in my state. (I think to show up the Catholic states who have All Saints' Day tomorrow as a holiday...) Whichever you celebrate, one, none, all, or other, happy holidays!
Happy Halloween! Did not know about Reformation Day!

I followed in @tlamdang08 's footsteps and wore Flamboyant Web again paired with skulls and snakes a plenty on Caducee Rock TD.

And today I am wearing Kachinas, since they are rather formidable (and some would say scary) looking, though in reality they are mostly benevolent.

ETA- And this means I made Kachinas work for every single theme this month!) :dothewave:
Both are so great! The color of CR is incredible!

I am super behind this week!

A photo with my beloved Arabesques changeant mousseline and a photo with my new Guépards. I think this will be my last scarf this season!
The changeant is stunning!

These are super creative interpretations of the weekly theme

Ugh! This reminds me of when they used lead in cosmetics to achieve a pale complexion.

This one only has a very mild eek factor.

Lizard, snail, mouse & bugs.

Cave Felem
Cave Felem was never the same for me after someone described it as "Oops! Stuck again!"

Halloween Eve - pulling out the stops now...
Oh sure this looks nice -
View attachment 4578085
But ‘looks’ are deceiving.
Annee du Rat and Metamorphose d’un Carre - rats (ewwwwwwwww) need no explanation, but let’s think about Franz Kafka’s book Metamorphosis.
Totally creep-tastic

Good ones, fifi! Turandot is musical gore. Like those versions of Sleeping Beauty where the enchanted forest just swallowed up all the unfortunate princes.

I love the inaugural wear. Is there a name for it... the unfolding? The breaking?

Asking for a friend
That is a very interesting question ... Maybe we should come up with a term for it :amuse:

:amazed: I probably shouldn’t have read this just before going to bed...:wtf: :death:

(Not quite the ‘To Ride Pegasus’ that I remember Anne McCaffery writing about...)
And to keep it on H, here is an old picture of Pegase Pop which for some unknown reason is upside down.
Oh dear! I hope you had Sweet Dreams anyway (pun alert!). If it helps, there was a storm and I dreamt of vampires...

uhhhh, if u have a fevered vision of mailing me the HK Pegase, follow the dream
IRL—feel better soon!
I'll look out for one for you, Jbizzy!

This reminds me of the original movie of The Fly...

View attachment 4578827 View attachment 4578826 Didn’t think I had anything to add then @xincinsin mentioned Ingrid, went looking for spiders, several of both creepy crawlies and cuties but no spiders found by me. Here is a sampling. I love this CW for the color combo but it does creep me out because the flowers all appear dead in the brown/golds. I wonder if I should rehouse it...someone named Ingrid once hurt my feelings maybe I keep it as a reminder of the dead relationship and to keep my feelings safe
There was a website that said Ingrid was referring to Ingrid Bergman. Can't say I see the connection...:confused1:

Off topic dear, but I loved McCaffreys dragon series as a teen.
OT here too, but yeah, I read the whole series. Teleporting dragons :heart::heart:

I think orange is just not my color.
