2018: Year of the Samourai (for me, anyway!)
I started the year with this cw of Samourai - the last one in the entire country, said the SA. I fell hard for that sales tactic. You got me good, H!

Then we collectively went gaga for the csgm! I went for this cw:

I am usually not partial to small prints because they seem to make me look either too old or too young, haha. But somehow this one works for me! Perhaps it’s because it’s in a large format. In any case, I also was drawn to blue/orange combos so I said yes to the dress — er, shawl!

Duuuuuuuude, this one needs no introduction. So happy it’s mine!!! (But strangely, I don’t find myself wearing it much. Need to analyze that...)

Back to the purples! My fave cw of Dancing Pearls became mine this year!! I think it may not have come up on people’s radar because it was advertised as “Sancing Pearls,” haha!

Nuees Imaginaires wasn’t on my radar but this is a cw I couldn’t refuse. DS calls it my “sneezy scarf” because all the little critters look like ... well, like they’ve just sneezed and their spray is in the air... [emoji38]

Like our dear Bunnycat, I was soooo thrilled to add this to my collection! I regretted not getting this when it first came out and dithered over which one to get. By the time I decided, they were all gone!

Despite my frustrated expression, I was/am so happy with this Tyger Tyger! I think it’s my fave csgm. It kept me so warm during a recent trip to France.

Ending the year with another purple, hee hee! A cw of Confessions that I love!

This was a really nice exercise. I’d thought my scarf buying had trickled down to nothing but the proof above says otherwise. What I’ve learned is to buy only what you love, don’t compromise on cws. I’m really really happy with the nine I’ve added in 2018. They’ve all seen a good amount of use and I love how they make me feel when I wear them.

Oh, I did say it was the year of the Samourai, didn’t I? I can’t end the year without bookending it with another one! I paid in 2018 but haven’t received it yet but here’s a shot of me trying it on at H in Paris - can’t wait to wear it in the spring!

Thank you! I’m finally reaching the point where I feel like branching out to other colors. (The next evolution of a scarf collector, amirite?)

Thank you! It’s one I definitely can’t recreate, haha! And thank you for being a wonderful scarf mistress this year. I love seeing your collection - it’s so varied and well curated, especially on rare designs and cws!

Agh, stunning!! Can't wait for some mod shots!! :flowers:
thanks! will do soon :)
This is my grail - but I haven't been able to bring myself to pay the evilBay prices for it. Lucky lucky you!!
i found mine in the H boutique, hence price was reasonable (if this word is applicable to H at all??)

my most fave purchase (to name just one) was Last Night 100 CSPM, Blue/Red cw
Every time i open the box i fall in love over and over again!
if i can name a few, then Game of Cards (that was a world wide quest!! i found it in Florence finally!)
Acte III with red hem, it was love from the first sight
Awoo dark blue, CSPM, absolutely MY cw (i wore it yesterday)
Most memorable score - Noel in blue, strictly speaking i paid for it in December 2017, but the mail arrived about 6/7th Jan, so it was my 'first in' in 2018, it was with me on my winter trip a couple of weeks ago, i dared wearing it outdoors on the snow! :hbeat:

I guess it's slippery slope confession time. (Did you notice that I waited until Saturday night, just before thread's end to avoid detection?)

I started this year with 2 scarves and ended with 19. Yikes.

When I bought my first, I dithered for years (literally) because I didn't know how they could possibly be "worth it." But after lots of research and investigation, I decided that it was worth it to try, so I set out to buy just one that would coordinate with most of my wardrobe, in a traditional and conservative pattern (Les Plumes II):

Then I discovered that I used it so much, I bought 2 more neutral scarves to give it a rest and to introduce a little more diversity to my wardrobe.
PhotoGrid_1546752789086.jpg

That turned into two more, featuring my most-used accent colors.

Then I wandered into this forum to learn how to wear them. And in my wanderings, I caught scarf fever after I discovered a "must-have" design in a gorgeous colorway.

I tried venturing into the world of 140s, starting with silk
PhotoGrid_1546755434000.jpg
Then cashmere.

What have I learned?

... I like scarves. I wear one almost every day. I would rather have a great scarf than additional shoes that I don't wear, clothes I don't need, or jewelry that just gets shoved in a drawer. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of researching, buying, and wearing scarves.

But, I also think that I am nearing a critical mass. There aren't many more that I can fit in my drawers and I think I have a scarf for nearly every occasion. There are still some gaps I need to fill (particularly for spring and summer), but I feel like a hungry person who gobbles half the meal before being able to take a deep breath and slow down. I can now take my time and enjoy the rest of the process. It really is fun!

 sorry to inform you that there is no known cure for scarf fever. Welcome to the Orange Side. May the Force be with you...

FugitiveRouge, outstanding collection! I love your choices so much. The monochromatic, neutrals, both elegant and fun designs, some classics and others modern, several that really pop with color, you've hit every mark with impeccable taste.

The teal Midnight au Faubourg is on my short list of grails to eventually acquire, bravo on tracking that down!
