You will get them back, I am sure! These bags are so unusual and special, the person will be caught for sure. I heard about a guy today who used the same MO to buy 300 000$ worth of Apple products, and he got caught. Yes, you are not a multibillion Dollar Company, but it can be done. And it will be! I'm so sorry to hear about this! Maybe you might want to contact some of the major resellers, Fashionphile, Yoogi's Closet and such to give them a heads up if approached for a buy out. I'll keep note of your series numbers and hope this disgusting loser gets caught!!! Take care of yourself, little one and one on the way!!

That is so crazy! I am in the business of finding people -- I just searched her number and it looks attached to a landline in California, so no east coast number there. The DL number she gave you is also potentially weird -- they usually start with the first letter of your last name, but maybe that's just in IL??

If the police can't help you, I might hire a detective. She gave you a ton of information that might lead to more information … in any respect, I'm so sorry that this happened to you!! Congrats on your pregnancy!

I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you. Hope it can be resolved soon. If your store has set up the security cameras, you may release and give the recording data to the police, so that may help the police to catch the person sooner and faster. Wish you a good luck! I agree with Joyjoy. Since you posted, the criminal may not post them on Ebay but try to sell them for cash directly at a consignment store or Craigslist them.

Thank you everyone for your kind and encouraging words. Today we made some progress. Since the credit card was swiped in store and she signed for the purchase and her license matched all the information we are hoping we will be covered. This was all notated in the police report as well. Also on my block there are lots of cameras outside stores so we have pulled all the cameras for the time frame she was in the store and leaving and will be reviewing the footage. Also the town I am in does manual trackers on cars to see who is parking and when they arrived so they are running the license plate on a few vehicles that came in that time frame. Fingers crossed they catch this scum bag and she wont be able to do this to anyone else. I hope they find my bags with her and they are not sold before they find her.
As for me I am trying to stay positive and relax. My babies need me more then this scam does, I am working hard at both and hopefully karma will be on my side. She is a terrible person and I cannot believe she did this in my store with my child there it literally makes my skin crawl.

I'm sorry this happened to you, and congrats on your pregnancy.

I'm actually surprised that the bank authorized a $17K purchase without further verification - in light of all our recent data breaches and cybersecurity concerns. Scary!

What is the name of your store if you don't mind me asking? I live in NJ and would love to shop in person vs online.

Oh my goodness, that so terrible. :(
I will keep my eyes out for those bags, and do some googling on consignment sites/craigslist for you.

Keep us updated, I hope you put these scammers away and get your bags back!!
