Here is a bag I was very surprised to get but it was love at first sight … Saut 25 in lime/bleu brume/caramel.
I was thinking about the Saut since a few months, especially after all I read here but I was still hesitating … until my SA showed me this one. As some of you stated it’s easier to use in summer, I felt less guilty buying this pop lime I would have never thought about before. It’s a very vibrant color but I find bleur brume and caramel bring a delicate touch.
Thanks to all for your reviews and photos.
I’m 6ft too by the way, but although I usually don't wear small bags at all, this one, particularly in this color, doesn’t look too small on me (I use the last hole for the strap of course).

What a fun bag in such a yummy color!!!! Love everything about it. Congrats!

Congratulations on your new Saut! I love mine and it is posted on the Podium thread. Maybe this can begin a Ode to Saut thread!
This bag has been in steady rotation ever since getting it last month. I had three Evelyns and they were too heavy to pack for travel and I was never quite comfortable with the wide strap. The design is pure H and under the radar. And perfect size and weight for traveling. Enjoy your lovely Saut. Here is mine in black, with gold and blue chevre trim. I am 5’5”.
Thank you @lanit for the photos - have loved yours since I saw it posted months ago. Appreciate your detailed further posts re. what fits! Very handy :)

And a head's up to all- The Barenia one comes ( as all of the Saut do I assume) with either gold or palladium HW. The Saut with PHW has the traditional white stitching. However, for the bag with the GHW, the stitching is gold! First time ever as far as I know.
This totally confused me, but my phenomenal SA tracked down the info - this was a creative decision when the bag went into production. SO- even more choices you need to consider!
I may be late to the game here but I saw the BF version on the Canada website with GHW and white contrast stitching... are you saying it also comes in non-contrast stitching with GHW? https://www.hermes.com/ca/en/product/saut-hermes-25-bag-H079081CCAA/

I wasn't sold on this bag only because the color combinations didn't do it for me, too much contrast, but this one I find gorgeous!
I felt the same exact way :) But I've come to adore the BF/GHW version.

I just took out the measuring tape and at the fourth punch hole it is 21 inches straight down to the center of the bag and 22 inches to either side of the bag. So assume at the fourth hole punch you have 44 inches of strap. And if you want to get really crazy, the Saut bar is 9.5 inches so you could cut out 9.5 inches of cardboard and tape 44 inches of butcher string to the cardboard and try it on.
Thank you! This is exactly the info I was looking for - you're so kind to post such detail!

Separate question: Saut owners, do you think there is room on the strap to have a leatherworker punch one extra hole to make the strap longer than 44"? I currently use a Twilly to elongate my Evie TPM strap (which starts at 44") approximately +6". So just a few additional inches on the strap would make a difference for me in comfort. Would anyone be open to posting photos of how what the strap looks like hooked into the last hole?

Hi Peonies13, look at the pictures I've posted ( the lime Saut) , it's closed at the last hole. You can see the space left, it's precisely 6cm, so unfortunately around 2.4" if I'm correct.

Thank you - I didn't notice. Perfect photos... that's a very tight squeeze - no extra holes are possible I see. If you have the chance, would you mind measuring your strap length to see if the total is the same as @catin posted above? Even between Evies I've seen some variation... I'm crossing my fingers maybe I'd get lucky with an extra inch or something

Total length of strap when closed at the last hole is 114cm on mine, so around 44.88".

Oh thanks! +1" is good news for me :)
Do you feel like it "sticks out" left-to-right when you wear it because of the hinge rod? I love that my Evie TPM is super flush on my body, but it seems the Saut is only a slight bit bigger.

I understand what you mean, I don't own any Evie but I've tried some on. Compared to an Evie it does stick a little out and is not as flush on the body at the ends, but nothing compared to the structured styles like 2002 or Constance. But it's also much wider than an Evie TPM I think.

Thanks for the feedback - really appreciated. I guess eventually I just need to try it on again. I have always preferred less structured bags for cross-body wear and Saut might be a fine compromise...

Yes I think you definitely have to try it because of the shape and the strap length. Actually I was searching for something less formal than a 2002 but not as relaxed as an Evie, and the Saut is the perfect compromise for me. The flap is also important for me for it's more secure than an Evie and I would even add one bigger to my collection if they ever propose any :P

I like the way you think. I like a good in-betweener - not too casual but not too formal. And good point about the flap - I forgot about that - I bet it makes a big difference in security of a bag which is my big knock on the Evie (as it tipped over in my car the other day and my stuff went flying!)
Plus I would love to have a bag in BF leather ;)
