Hi Saut owners  I wondering if this bag is heavy being Clemence leather? I carried Jypsiere 28 in Swift for when I travel and it’s not too heavy for me
Thanks
The saut is very light even in Clemence. I don’t have a jypsiere but have tried one on in the store and they are not at all close in weight. Jypsiere is noticeably heavier partly because of the difference in hardware

How do you like this bag and this leather so far

Regarding the style, I found that I prefer the Evelyne over a heavy winter coat so this crossbody was not what I reached for often this past winter; now that the weather’s better I’m looking forward to giving it a work out and will report. I’m quite optimistic.

As for the leather, no issues yet but I’m an OG barenia-lover so this is new for me. I didn’t think I would care for it but it has its virtues. It doesn’t appear that there will be an ugly duckling phase so my other bags need not be neglected in favor of developing a patina on the Saut. No Saut event this year alas.

I live in California and thus did not have the heavy coat fit issue but I could definitely see that being a problem. Additionally the Evelyne is probably easier in and out if wearing gloves.

We need a "best bags for freezing weather" thread. :) Hopefully it's warmer where you are now and you are able to enjoy the warm weather bags now!

I am not a heavy poster (more of a lurker) but I have been using heavily this since I picked it up last weekend and have been in love. Additionally this is a fairly new bag I haven't seen much about on the forums so far and wanted to do some sharing as I feel like it could be very usable and functional for folks who might have similar preferences as me.

A bit about me: Day to day, I prefer an easy to access crossbody for an active lifestyle and my Evelyne has been my day to day go to for several years now.

I'm loving the Saut Hermes 25 because:
  1. It's easy to access but not so huge you are rummaging around.
  2. Holds the essentials and then some (Without stuffing I've gotten my my bose headset, tissues, kindle, card holder, two cell phones, keys in all at once)
  3. The strap is comfortable and adjustable for crossbody and shoulder bag wear (I'm 5'3)
  4. Great for walking - One of the reasons I use my Evelyne so much is that I do a ton of walking and this is very comfortable for that too
  5. Has a hinged flap for a little added security although so far I haven't used it that way so far - The hinge makes it optional but not required.
Three ways you can wear it: (1. pocket out, 2. flap open and out, 3. flap closed)

Side and internal shots (note that the latch is also on the hinge mechanism):

Anyway thanks for letting me share my enthusiasm! Also loving the deep blue! (I saw it in black, red, gris perle and understand it also comes in barenia fauborg but they didn't have that one).

I had my SA searching for this Saut bag but asked him to stop because I am 6 ft tall and was worried that it might be too small. I have the Evelyne 29 that I wear all the time and was looking for a second Cross body bag with a different look. I tried the Aline last year and it was way to small for me. I don’t want to put the SA through a search and change my mind. Especially since the Chicago store has just opened for phone calls and they are swamped with work.

Oops. My question is how will it work for a very tall person?

I just took out the measuring tape and at the fourth punch hole it is 21 inches straight down to the center of the bag and 22 inches to either side of the bag. So assume at the fourth hole punch you have 44 inches of strap.

And if you want to get really crazy, the Saut bar is 9.5 inches so you could cut out 9.5 inches of cardboard and tape 44 inches of butcher string to the cardboard and try it on.

Thank you so much for the very kind and detailed answer. You made my day with your kindness!

Here is a bag I was very surprised to get but it was love at first sight … Saut 25 in lime/bleu brume/caramel.
I was thinking about the Saut since a few months, especially after all I read here but I was still hesitating … until my SA showed me this one. As some of you stated it’s easier to use in summer, I felt less guilty buying this pop lime I would have never thought about before. It’s a very vibrant color but I find bleur brume and caramel bring a delicate touch.
Thanks to all for your reviews and photos.
I’m 6ft too by the way, but although I usually don't wear small bags at all, this one, particularly in this color, doesn’t look too small on me (I use the last hole for the strap of course).
