Thanks so much for the pics and the review. I’ve been interested in this bag since I first saw pics online but so far have not seen one at my local H. I’ve wanted a crossbody bag with an easy access flap opening and looks like this may fit the bill. Is it much heavier than the Evelyne? I was wondering if the hinge mechanism made it a bit heavy. Thanks again!
It's lighter than my GM but I don't own a PM Evelyne so can't compare.

I am not a heavy poster (more of a lurker) but I have been using heavily this since I picked it up last weekend and have been in love. Additionally this is a fairly new bag I haven't seen much about on the forums so far and wanted to do some sharing as I feel like it could be very usable and functional for folks who might have similar preferences as me.

A bit about me: Day to day, I prefer an easy to access crossbody for an active lifestyle and my Evelyne has been my day to day go to for several years now.

I'm loving the Saut Hermes 25 because:
  1. It's easy to access but not so huge you are rummaging around.
  2. Holds the essentials and then some (Without stuffing I've gotten my my bose headset, tissues, kindle, card holder, two cell phones, keys in all at once)
  3. The strap is comfortable and adjustable for crossbody and shoulder bag wear (I'm 5'3)
  4. Great for walking - One of the reasons I use my Evelyne so much is that I do a ton of walking and this is very comfortable for that too
  5. Has a hinged flap for a little added security although so far I haven't used it that way so far - The hinge makes it optional but not required.
Three ways you can wear it: (1. pocket out, 2. flap open and out, 3. flap closed)

Side and internal shots (note that the latch is also on the hinge mechanism):

Anyway thanks for letting me share my enthusiasm! Also loving the deep blue! (I saw it in black, red, gris perle and understand it also comes in barenia fauborg but they didn't have that one).
Unique and functional bag indeed. Enjoy her in best of health!

It is quite light and I think the smaller size (smaller compared with my Evelyne PM) will prevent it from getting too heavy as it isn't a huge bag. The hinge doesn't add too much weight.

Thank you for the informative and helpful review and the pictures! You definitely sell it better than the website does. I saw it on the US website a few times around the holidays. Definitely have not seen it at my store in person.

Love the pun!

The Saut is the first bag in awhile that has caught my attention. Love the multicoloured hinge mechanism. I look forward to trying it on. Thanks for sharing your review and your various pictures!

And thank you so much for your detailed review. Nothing is nicer in the bag world when taking a chance and it paying off.

Congratulations on your new Saut! I love mine and it is posted on the Podium thread. Maybe this can begin a Ode to Saut thread!

This bag has been in steady rotation ever since getting it last month. I had three Evelyns and they were too heavy to pack for travel and I was never quite comfortable with the wide strap. The design is pure H and under the radar. And perfect size and weight for traveling. Enjoy your lovely Saut.

Here is mine in black, with gold and blue chevre trim. I am 5’5”.

I completely agree with everything you've stated catin, and when my Barenia Fauborg version comes out of it's box I expect it will be in constant rotation. I believe @lanit has the bleu nuit version and is a fan as well. Some have expressed a preference for a more monochrome coloration but I've come to appreciate the equestrian reference in the hinge; I understand from my SA that because of the technical difficulty in executing that hinge, H tasked its more senior craftspeople with making this bag.
Oooh, congrats on the barenia version dear! Hope you will share photos soon!

@catin thank you for your wonderful detailed review and photos. I’m glad to see the enthusiasm here for you and for the Saut. I did pause at the price point being so much more than an Evi, but since i use this daily with ease, it is worth it for me to have invested in a bag that I can comfortably carry!
