I’m sorry this has happened to you but I don’t think this is a problem solely in the SF store; I think it’s happening in most H stores at least in the US. Especially if one’s not a VIP. Unfortunately the email is the least reliable way of communicating with an H SA in my opinion; either ask for their work phone so you can text them or call the store right away. I’ve had an experience in Bellagio H wherein an SA was offering me a pico 18 even though she said it was reserved for a client. I just bought the last pair of chypre sandals in Crystals store that again the SA had reserved for their client but sold off to me cos I was physically there. And my SA in SF would give me literally like 5 minutes to respond if I want a sought after bag/item or not; it’s like you snooze you lose. If I don’t reply right away it’s sold off to the next client down the list, whether it’s hers on another SA’s. This is also the case with my DH’s SA in NY; but because of the time difference she gives us a few hours to reply, lol. So I have to text them right away. And if they don’t reply back I call the store. If they’re busy I leave a message to let them know to that I called. I know it sounds a bit aggressive, but I wanna make sure I secure the item. Once the SA has replied that it’s mine, then I can chill. Hang in there, it can get a bit frustrating I know. Maybe ask your SA’s work phone so you can communicate with them faster?

I second Ethengdurst here. When I was at my appointment last week, my SA's phone were consistently beeping from all the messages he was getting. Seems like there's a LOT of traffic and demand, yet supply is really scarce. I understand your frustrations truly, ilovemykiddos, and I similarly share that frustration. If you can get the SA's phone number, or call the store for an appointment, you never know you could be surprised with an evelyne on the spot :) H is always a game of chance and patience, don't get discouraged!

Does anyone know if the SF store has any Chypre, Takara or Ankara sandals in stock? If I call to make an appointment, can they advise on availability?
If you make an appointment to shop in store you can definitely ask about it and if they dont have it in stock (most likely, because I havent seen it on display ever, and I visited often) they can order it for you! I recommend getting the reference # from online and showing to the SA you paired with.

I recently got a pair of the fur tan chypre and it was ordered and charge send to me. As for the women chypre, chances are slim because I asked about it and it was out every where, you can try your luck with the men chypre tho (double check the size chart)!!

Thank you! I managed to get the black pair online, but now I also want the Rose woolskin pair. My feet are unfortunately too small for the men's size.

The last few times I've been in the SF store, I've noticed that a lot of the shelving in the bag display area is empty. I really do think that production constraints across Hermès' various divisions and suppliers is causing an overall product shortage vs current demand. I not only have seen this in bags, but across several product lines, including Jewelry, shoes, and housewares...it's well-evidenced across several threads on this forum. You can also see from the product additions to the website that they're basically working on products as supplies come in. Recently a bunch of Rouge de Coeur items, then Anenome, now Nata... I think they're basically making things as supplies come in. It's easy to forget, especially in the US, just how much of an impact 1.5+ years of Covid has had on production worldwide. It's been hard for me too, but I encourage everyone to take a step back and be a bit patient (not just at SF, but at all the stores...these kinds of complaints are becoming common across this forum).

***and before anyone says otherwise, I'm not affiliated with Hermès and lurking this forum...I'm a very impatient customer like all of us :yahoo:
On top of this, my understanding is that business is very much up (at least in SF) with a lot of new customers buying & expressing interest.

Hi! New to the thread as I’ve never shopped in the sf store. Just wondering… Since sf is a pretty high cola city, I assumed there’s a lot of vip and big spenders. Would anyone be able to give me a range of how much is needed to get a quota bag? Last I read it was about $4-$8k but it’s interesting to see that the Palo Alto thread is showing a person not getting one after spending $40k. Sure, I understand spending a certain amount doesn’t gruantee a bag, but just wondering if there is a new range for Sf store? Thanks!

I'd usually post these photos in the "Inventory Update" thread, but since a lot of noise has been made about the SF store lately, I decided to share here. Below is the current bag display area in the SF store...notice how EMPTY the shelves are...and even the shelves that have items have been filled with shoes, accessories, etc. Even notice the half-empty accessory display! I'm used to seeing these displays FULL of JUST bags, and nice ones. Just putting this out there for those who are feeling a bit unsure of where they stand in SF...it's not you! It's literally that production is still slow and demand is very high! Hang in there friends

my SA said they do this because of safety. They don’t want to display so many bags because they don’t want to attract those robbers [/QUOTE]

Hi everyone! So glad to have found this thread as I have been doing quite a bit of research since starting my Hermes journey! My first Hermes experience was actually in the Waikiki store where I purchased a Picotin 18 in Gold. They had the bag in all sizes and colors :amazed:! I didnt even see one on display in the SF store actually. But being that I am in SF, we decided to make this our home store. Thankfully, my fiance is obsessed with home decor stuff and just fell in love with everything they have in the store (he is actually the Hermes fanatics now :lol:) which worked out in our favor because that's one of the key categories to buy from!

Like many others, we were also hesitant to start this "game" but I did not want my first B or K to be preloved so we finally made our first appointment last month and got paired with Lydia, who is wonderful! We wanted a dessert platter that was sold out in their store but she quickly offered to do a charge send for us and ship it to the store so we don't have to deal with deliveries at home. We also ended up buying a pair of Oran sandals and the Avalon blanket during this trip. We did not bring up the "wish list" as I've heard so many people saying that you should not be so frank about it and making it seem like you're not into other aspects of the brand besides the dream bags. Our SA also didnt ask but she did hint to us that we should spread out our purchases especially if working towards a B or K later on.

Our shopping list definitely has grown much larger after our first trip and is scheduling our second visit for later this month. So so excited to go back!! I just wanted to share my first shopping experience at the SF H store for those who are wondering and also hoping it'll bring some positivity to those who might be debating whether or not to start the journey as well.

Also, if anyone on here have had experience with Lydia, please share! I would love to hear more about the journey you've shared with her and hopefully pick up some tips and tricks  Thanks all!

Hello- curious to know if anyone, who’s fairly new to H journey, got a quota bag recently.

I‘m on my journey since March. I just came back from my 3rd appointment today and this visit gave me more uncertainty (due to low inventory, high competition, many VVIPs, etc). My SA looked OVERWHELMED with back to back (even double booking) appointments and he was in hurry to wrap up my shopping today… from this I felt like I have almost no chance here…?

I love other Hermès products so I am enjoying this journey, but sometimes I want some assurance that one day in near future I will get B/K  Ya know.

I feel like it’s like this at all US stores currently and wouldn’t take it personally or as a reflection of the store in particular. This is a rough year for many of us, hopefully things will turn around soon.

I'm a new shopper as of February to Hermès SF (and H in general) and became eligible for quota bag by April; I had several offers until I finally accepted one in June. San Francisco is a flagship and gets a pretty good number of bags, but as stated above, the store stock has been relatively low as with all stores, compared before things started opening up these past few months. For context: I had so many offers simply because I didn't have anything specific on my wishlist, which made it easier for our SA to just bring stuff out and see what I might want, but if you're asking for a specific few things on your wishlist, it might take longer right now than normal for that specific item (or something close) to come into the store. While I did have offers, *almost* none of them were for current on-trend sizes or neutral colors. Don't fret and enjoy your shopping :flowers:
Thank you for sharing your story. This is very encouraging  yes, my wishlists are trendy size/color I guess…
