I have never seen this before. It's always price increases but this is definitely a price decrease.
Maybe they have tons of this bag and need to offload them somehow. This bag is probably not a best seller since it fits almost nothing and for around the same price, you can get a Mini Lou Camera Bag which fits so much more and is more of a bag and less like a wallet.
But with the price decrease, the small WOC starts to look more attractive for sure. Especially now, with the absurdity of our endless price-increase situation.

I was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to why a real croc YSL bag would be this cheap? Or if I’m missing anything on the pictures or condition? I noticed similar bags were almost triple the price they were asking. Thanks!

I like the size personally, but it's travel size unless you're a guy, which makes it less saleable. It also has a limited market size it has to stay inside a territory, can't be shipped to Cali and it should come with CITES.
This makes sense, I am a guy so the size is actually perfect for me! Usually if it has CITES they will list it, not sure if it has that.
It’s actually at their NY location, but I guess recently you are now allowed to ship croc into California, just not python. I checked with a personal shopper just to make sure.
It’s a beautiful bag, and the original retail was around $17,000, this took quite the depreciation lol.

I never have. I looked at them last year or the year before because their pricing was very tempting but decided not to. When I was looking into them, I saw they did a lot of sales out of Poshmark and VC. I think they are a real business but I would hesitate about buying from them directly and not off of some kind of platform. When I looked at them previously, their site said they were in CA but they did not have any biz registration with the state which for me just made me too nervous. Apparently this month they filed with the state ... but then cancelled same month which just seems too risky for me.
I believe Neiman Marcus is having some kind of private sale right now with a decent amount of YSL bags. If you're interested in a specific bag and have a Neiman Marcus sales associate you may want to check in with them.

Yes you do lose the 10% deposit unfortunately. I’ve had cases where the deposit was waived if it wasn’t as described, but it’s really a case by case basis.
I had to text a SA but the bag I missed in the Dec sales was still in store and I'm gonna get it since I've been obsessing since lol. They pulled it off the website however. So, if you know you want something specific without going in the store you can call and see if they have it.
Just an FYI, I was just in Japan a couple days ago and got a medium envelope bag in all black. With the exchange rate against the dollar it only ended up costing me $2300 USD. Nothing additional for tax. SO, in theory it could almost be worth a trip there to snag a couple you've been wanting to get!! (of course if you wanted to take a vacation anyway
