@cecchetti prompted me to post my newest additions.

I never know whether the season is Cruise, Resort or Spring 25. I think we are still in Spring(?). I like this season a lot. I really loved the silk-satin blouses with the 'garter' hem AW24 but I'm not sure even where I work is ready for them  I know the jackets coming in for Summer are going to look a bit oversize on me. I like the look, but I have enough of those. I wanted something more fitted. I also wanted something beyond just an another pair of black trousers.

Most of my SL LS are double-breasted. Often the single's are exaggeratedly low to elongate the look My SL SA convinced me to try the single-breasted LS jacket with the strong (but not exaggerated) shoulder line and peaked lapel. The single button comes-up perfectly on my frame 5.5'. I think I will get so much wear out of it. I'm usually a 38, I bought the 40 in this jacket and fits perfectly, even the arm length is spot-on.

The trousers are amazing. I could not, not have them. They are a 'piece' on their own. The hero trouser/pant. These are TTS and I bought the 38.

I hope the alteration doesn't ruin them. I wish I was 6', the shape won't look so handsome on me but I but with Bianca's or high wedges they'll look the look. If they cut too much off I will scream.

I also bought these. Made in Japan metal frames. I think they are from AW24/25 but they look phenomenal with the jacket and fit across the temples better than my last pair of SLs (although I still love them).

papertiger, I love your choice of jacket and pants! I hope you will update when you wear them.
The dress arrived after New Year's Eve was over and although I loved it, the motivation for a party dress was kind of gone. I was really torn but I decided to send it back. Every day I think about ordering it again ha ha… I'm thinking it will come back to me eventually!
The fabric and the seams that shaped it were incredible.

I'm sorry that it didn't work out. Formal clothes are luckily not so trend led. I have purposely built my party/occasion dresses/wear from buying when I find and not when I need. I get far too anxious if I leave it too long. I missed out on a cropped Le Smoking from about 18 months ago that would have been perfect with a maxi skirt I already owned. The right things in my size seem to sell out fast so I know I have to grab them or not be surprised they've all gone.

Trousers are back from alteration.

If I wear my usual boots they almost come to the floor, with a Bianca (platform/block heel) they cover the foot but not the whole platform/heel. If I had gone any longer I wouldn't be able to wear them with anything but + 4" heel. They have left a goo among of hem on the bottom should I want to lengthen again to an 'evening-only' height.

My SA said the new way is to wear the wide-leg with flat shoes, even a pointed toe :cray: . Maybe if I was 6' or if I was still size 34! I'll try my Loulou ankle boots (7cm (2.7") block heel/almond toe). So far I tried with SL Bianca's, Gucci 'cowboy' boots (2.5"), Rossetti Fratelli 9cm and they look fine. I think I need to find '70s-style wedges in black (somewhere I have a pair of Terry de Havillands in python)

As I said, I probably wouldn't have bothered with 'just' another black pair of pants if they hadn't been such a standalone, statement by themselves. I love the high, defined waist and the generosity of the pleats and fullness of the wide-leg. I also love the way the silk side stripe continues and becomes a part of the pocket.

I will probably wear the jacket and pants broken up for day, and for a more formal occasion together.

That is what I keep telling myself ha ha but I let it go for now. Tragic about the cropped tuxedo jacket. I looked at those a lot a couple years ago and thought how many ways they could be worn. Gorgeous, of course. Perhaps it will pop up again!

I am considering adding a pair of the high rise bootcut jeans to my collection. Does anyone have any experience or feedback on saint laurent jeans?

TTS on me (100% cotton / no elastane). Even if they're slightly tight, unless you like a looser fit, they may loosen and mould to your body as you wear them.

The denim jackets came-up big though (last season's).

I just got a pair of the 70.s high rise. LOVE!

They are ridiculously long even with my ridiculously long legs AND heels. They fit amazingly well and give me the waist that doesn’t want to be revealed.

I’m going to get a pair of the straight leg ones.

Edit: forgot to mention they run really small. I’m normally a 25-26 and I took these in a 28.

Thanks so much! I’m tiny but short - do you think with hemming them at the bottom it should be enough or do you think the proportions would look odd on a petite person? I’m so in love with the edginess of the design.

That was my fear with my wide-leg new trousers. I fell in love with total look and wasn't sure it would translate on non-model height. I'm average height, but F.38. I would have had to have been 6'2" not to have the trousers hemmed.

Can you go into the store to try? They can pin and, if you're OK with the look, do the alteration. Wear shoes you'd wear with them.

Can you screenshot the exact jean? Is it the '70s'?

I have a couple pairs as well as some older black low rice styles. Which ones are you looking at?
I think it is the 70s pair - here is what I am thinking (Net a porter has 70s inspired in the description): https://www.net-a-porter.com/en-us/...ared/high-rise-bootcut-jeans/1647597357891134

I probably should stop being lazy and head over to the store for some try ons. My local store doesn't have the best inventory so I've been avoiding LOL.
