I haven't found a good SA at Cartier 5th ave yet, but maybe fancy trying Hudson Yards!
I like Hudson Yards. Low key, easy to deal with, no pressure. at both Cartier and VCA. VCA also told me that the SA can also travel to other stores for you, and I assume it’s possible for Cartier too. Just explain to an SA that you click with that you’d like a change up.

Also, this summer when I bought my first necklace, VCA SA gave cleaning cloth, travel case etc etc., but said that sometimes they do run out Of items and even gift boxes. He said it’s terrible when someone buys an expensive necklace and they have to squeeze it into a bracelet box. They sometimes even run out of bottled water to offer. It’s an issue with corporate, and not always something any SA can control.

I am surprised that the little tiny things do so much for people - bottle waters, a cleaning brush, a chocolate, a trinket, etc. - when you are buying something of high value. But you can tell from this forum, it definitely does!!!!

I think there should be a cost reduction when you are buying online or buying it "transactionally". Definitely they are building these perks, the fancy stores, and SA relationships, etc into the price. Shouldn't pay for these if you aren't really getting them.

Also, if you want to change SA - I would just call the manager and describe that, for personal reasons, you do not want your account linked with a certain SA, so that they have to serve you when you come in. (Or just switch stores).

I have dealt with a friendly one at this location. I can give you the name if you would like, but it may be one of the ones you have already dealt with.

I have never been in person - but I imagine this one gets more foot traffic than usual - which can lead to people acting less friendly (also its NYC - not Minneapolis or some place known for warmth and friendliness - but it sounds like there is variation around the city...).

The service at 5th ave was ... a different experience than im used to. I've made purchases at other locations...including cartier in Venice (Italy) & Paris Champs elysees. They were much more professional. The 5th ave SA was personable but I like SAs that keep a professional distance and don't act like we've been friends forever when we've just met, it feels fake and forced. He also kept trying to upsell me and it felt a bit usedcarsaleman-y. My VCA SA just a few blocks from the 5th ave cartier is amazing as well (she also gives lovely books and candles and other things), and her kindness feels authentic....so maybe im spoiled.

Yeah, the 5th Ave seems to be somewhat different. Sadly. However, I had so and so experiences in Paris, too. Forget the Place Vendôme one , Cartier near the Opéra Garnier is close by and just great. Zurich is ****ty people wise - friendly but is is way too obvious the SAs are after their commissions, in contrast Munich is excellent. Seems to me that the more glamorous the location is the more sub-par the service.

Not sure if there is a Cartier in Timbuktu or Greenland but I am sure they would be the best Cartier stores worldwide.

Yeah, I didnt got back to Cartier this holiday cause I felt meh... didn't know who to go shop with... so maybe Valentines! Would love to find an SA I can connect with. I have one in Paris the original Cartier, and she's super knowledgable and kind!

What is the "original"? Rue de la Paix? But this is closed now until 2022.

This 10000%! That has been my experience. It’s like the higher traffic stores that make frequent high price sales don’t value their customers as much as other stores. It’s frustrating.

Hi all, happy new year! I was looking at this thread today and I had an appointment at the 5th Ave Mansion so I thought I would just note the experience for everyone.

I was helped by a lovely woman named Sarah who my SA set me up with (she isn’t working this weekend). She showed me each option I asked for and there were a lot lol and she was helpful when it came to styling and figure stacking advice. I ended up buying a ring! Anyway I say this to say the right SA really does make a difference. If any Cartier lovers need a new SA for 5th Ave PM me! Happy to share (:
