"S" stamp and employee sale bags

I just found the "S" stamp on the Birkin I just purchased from an Hermes boutique in Las Vegas. I am confounded as to how I could have been sold an employee bag at a boutique. I feel lied to. What should I do?
Photo please? Where's the stamp located? Employee stamps would normally be visible when viewing an offered bag.

Hi - I’m curious what this S might be. It is on a preloved bag (bleu zephyr bolide swift 27) that I just bought on FP. Perhaps it was a sale stamp? Thank you for any help you can give! 71DD9C68-3107-43CF-880F-7FA8180CA091.png

Also let’s not forget that pieces that go to the employee sales are often real samples, displays and damaged or flawed items. So they don’t get a brand new bag for example for such a good price. And there are limits so that they can’t resell probably.
I used to work for other luxury brands many years ago and these were the sales rules. But I was very happy with what I got. 😃

Yes, there's usually identifying numbers stamped on the bags, see quote below:

That's not an S stamp as in sale - there are numbers after it which means it was sold specifically to an employee. In fact, the seller looks like they are trying to cover up the numbers in the photo. The employee may well have sold it on to someone else, but this is really frowned upon by Hermes, as the item can be traced back to the employee who originally bought it. There is some debate as to whether Hermes will accept these bags for service/spa (some say yes, some say no) as the employees would have access to such services internally within Hermes, and these "sale" type bags were intended only for their purchase and use.

Hey Guys! Has anyone ever heard of an 'X' stamp? I am interested in purchasing a Kelly from an ex Hermes employee who has said the bag was a gift from the company and has been stamped under logo on front with an X and 4 numbers. They mentioned it was bought through an employee only platform called Sesame which I haven't heard of before? 👀

I’ve heard of it. My ex SA told me about it it’s where the staff buy ex display items etc.. and I believe the X stamp denotes it was an employee sale item and the 4 numbers may be their staff ID.
I’ve never heard of employees being gifted bags though.
And my former SA was with the company a long time and still works there but in head office.

Hi Lovelies,

I have come across a brand new Kelly that was a staff purchase probably because it had a major defect - a discolored area on the side of the bag.

It's stamped s followed by some numbers which I presume would be the employee number and also has a HD stamp under the flap.

Could you let me know your personal opinions of the pros and cons of buying this bag?

Really appreciate it, thanks.

I know this is an old post, but just came across this thread. I have seen quite a few bags and accessories monogramed with the initials H.D. Those are the initials of Helene Dubrule. She is the current Managing Director of Hermes Distribution France. She has quite the extensive personal collection and a pleasure to talk to at events.

Hello, can anyone confirm the meaning of the HD stamp that has been previously mentioned in this thread, as there seem to be two different explanations?
I am inclined to think that it is most likely indicative of some kind of defect, as examples of monograming initials that I have seen before are typically on the outside like this:

Has anyone had any experience with sending a bag with an HD stamp to the H spa yet?

To answer my own question, I asked an SA at FSH to ask about the possibility of having an employee bag with an HD stamp serviced and they checked with the repairs department who replied that there is no issue in bringing in such a bag. They would look up the employee who it was tied to, but there is no negative repercussions for the person who brings it in.
