what a meanie!!

Not everyone goes makeup shopping with pounds of makeup!! I wear makeup just about everyday..but when I go makeup shopping I barely put much on.

That SA wasn't ver smart.

You shouldn't have to empty out your makeup bag. PERIOD!!

free samples are for anyone who wants them, and anyway you WERE a paying customer.

she probably took a glance at her paycheck and thats what got her upset. LMAO kiddin

Lol, I wish I was there to see her face when she said she was going on her break!! :boxing:

How could she said that in front of you anyway... biacth, she deserved what you did.

Another older SA looks at her and goes "What are you doing, she doesn't get a free sample just for buying anything, doesn't look like she wears our products anyways."

:wtf: OMG.

I would definitely find out her name and report her. That is just so unbelievably rude. I also wouldn't have been able to handle it as well as you did! I probably would have said "Yanno what? NEVERMIND!" and walked away in a huff :shame:

^^ Exactly ClaireZk! I would have said something like, "Oh, you know what, I just remembered that the other department stores here carry Clinique too. I hope you don't work on commission." And walked out.

Good for you! I should be more aggressive when it comes to sucky customer service! I was treated like crap today at the Mac counter in Bloomingdales. Between trying to get the girl to stop BSing on the phone, to try to get another one remain BY the counter to help (she kept wandering off), it was like pulling teeth. I understand they may have been mad I was returning eyeliner (that smeared) but I still bought from them! Jeesh what is wrong with people!

I too am fed up with the rude cosmetic counter sales people. I've wanted to ask them who the heck do they think they are? They sell lipsticks for crying out loud! You'd think with their snooty attitudes they were curing cancer or something. I've gotten to the point where I order my makeup online. That way a rude SA doesn't get comission from me.

Since it was the Clinique counter, you should have told the counter manager the service you received did not make you "Happy". Where is the fragrance called "Angry?"

Nice! The SA's at my macy's too are rude...and now that sephora opened up in the same mall, I love knowing I don't have to go there to get high end makeup....except for chanel. You'd think w/sephora opened now, they macy's cosmetics SA's would be nicer

I would have said walk out, too, but then you're taking it out on that new employee.

It's not her fault. She was honestly trying to help you and that other one stuck her nose in.

I would have stayed, said something like, "Well YOU just lost your commission, because I'd rather deal with this young lady here."

Simseema- When my Sephora first opened, everyone was super nice except for this one guy. Now they're all either really rude or really nice. It's like half and half. I order everything online that I possibly can to avoid dealing with it.

I don't blame you at all. I am also pretty fed up with rude people everywhere. She doesn't think you look like you use her products? That doesn't say much about her products does it? What a dolt. My stock answer these days to rude cosmetic people is usually, "is there an extra charge for your (rude comment/unsolicited opinion etc.) or was that a freebie?"
Feel free to use it.

I hate Macys in general. A few months ago I went to buy some Dior lotion i really wanted. My mom had a gift card with like a few hundred dollars on it and said i could use it - otherwise i would not be buying it at Macys! I was standing at the counter for good 10 mins before the guy chatting it up with this other grl sales finally stopped yapping and noticed me. I looked a the products for a few minutes and then i was just standing there staring at him, he never noticed!!!! I'm like..uhh WTH.

Except the person ringing her up wasn't the one that said the mean thing.
