ITA I like it as it is. I rarely come to gossip sub-forum and what we always discuss on here are some gossips, more critics lol Some ladies are keen to give some words of wisdom when the topic becomes (very) negative.

Queen Mathilde spent her first day as monarch with children, 10 Belgian children who presented He Majesty with their drawings of the new monarchs.

I believe is repeat skirt is by NATAN. She owns the matching jacket to this skirt but she wisely has chosen to leave that in her closet.

:graucho::woohoo: In honor of their ascension to the throne of Belgium. the official site of the royal family has released the official portraits of their new King and Queen.

Mathilde is wearing the base of the Nine Provinve tiara for the first time, and that brooch is gorgeous as well. The gown reminds me of a royal blue version of the one she wore to the abdication/inauguration ceremonies in the Netherlands. It also brings Max's royal blue gown to mind.
Again, I don't like the idea that the mind recalls Maxima when Mathilde is the new monarch. The focus she be on Queen Mathilde and only Her Majesty. Still I love the look of the tiara on Queen Mathilde. I had realized how strong colors of blue really flatter Queen Mathilde. She should explore that color palette more.

Crown Princess Haakon and Mette Marit greet mourners on the 2 year anniversary of the mass killings in Oslo.


I like that she broke up the sober color with the white skirt. She looks simple and elegant. This is the
type of occasion that requires MM to fade into the background.

Update and correction. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a healthy baby boy weighing in at 8lbs 6 oz. Congratulations to the royal couple and to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles.

Correction...Queen Paola of Belgium is not the Dowager Queen of Belgium,. As a widow Queen Fabiola is the dowager. Queen Paola remain Queen of Belgium unlike the Dutch tradition do them monarch taking a step back after the abdicate.

I am a devoted follower of this thread and I have not heard any negative comments on the inclusion of news with this style thread, honestly we all like it the way it is!! JMHO:flowers:Swanky I really hope that thread is not changed!!:flowers:

Queen Maxima and Queen Mathilde wear similar dresses by NATAN.


I still think Mr. Vermeulen would have advised created completely different colors and patterns on the 2 queens. Their inaugurations were too close together to have such similar dresses.

The pink dress that Queen Mathilde wore for the walk through the park after the inauguration is reportedly bespoke. It's only a little but different than Queen Maxima's pink dress. Natan could have done the same dress in a completely different pattern. Sighs...very disappointing.
