Thanks for sharing your story but the BS clients have to go through to buy an Hermes handbag is getting ridiculous! It makes me angry. If you have the money to purchase it should be sold to you instead of this song and dance SAs make you do.
I completely agree with you. It's really disappointing that we have to go through this game to buy a handbag.

Hi everyone,

i'll be travelling to Europe in Oct, Munich / Rome / Florence / Milan and hoping to lay my hands on some leather goods, a B will be a bonus definitely..

I'm Asian and i think there goes my chances of getting the leather goods :(

Anyone have got any SA to refer to in any of the above cities? Would it be better if hubby goes in and talks to SA rather then me?

After we had lunch, I decided to go by myself tonthe Venice store. First bought a small orange clic clac GHW and went upstairs to look for bags. There was only one SA there and he was busy, so I patiently waited. When he was free, I approched and asked very politely if they had any leather bag (there was none on the shelfs). He asked me what I was looking for, I answered Toolbox nd he came back with a beautiful blue thalassa, but the bag was very big for me (I'm petit). He then said he had Lindy, Bolide and Jypsiere in the back. When I asked for Kelly, he said they don't sell B or K in that store (which I knew was not true due to was said by other SA to my husband). Just then a group of asian came in and asked for Lindy or Bolide, but to my surprise he answered no! I couldn't believe. Then an asian couple came and asked for any leather bag and he said the had none. I was so angry with hus behaviour that I left the store without purchasing anything else.

The next day my DH came back and asked for the manager, but he was helped by a SA that said that it was his lucky day, because the manager let her show him a very special piece. It was an etoupe Kelly, size 38, PHW, swift leather. At first, my husband didn't take, since he didn't knew if I would like, beacuse he thought the colour was similar to my graphite Jypsiere. When he told me, I came bak with him to the store and bought this beutiful baby. I'm so in love with it! Unfortunately, there weren't any twillies there to match my new baby.

Now I'm in Milan and of course went to H store, to look for twilly and oran sandals for my sister. Sadly, there weren't any twillies (SA told me they gonna get it only in september), sandals in my sister's numbers or any leather bags. Just a bolide in very big size.

Well, that's my (long) story. Wrote here just to thank you all for the great tips and to say never give up on your dream. Be polite and have patience, and you lucky day will come!

Thanks for sharing your story , You are really lucky woman to got it.

I am Asian and I had the same treatment as what you witnessed when I was there during end Sep - in the Venice store no less. Everything I asked for, the SA told me "No, they don't have." The last question I asked what "Do you have any leather bags at all?" He said "No, just the canvas bag on display."

I definitely wasn't rude or brash with him, but he was downright snobby.

Anyway, I still managed to get H goodies from Lucerne (Jypsiere 34), Geneva (Lindy 30 and Twilly), Paris airport (Rivale and Twilly). And might I add, the SAs from all these 3 stores were polite and helpful.

Happy ending! :)

Hi Girls, just want to share my recent experience in Rome. I have wanted a Lindy for a while now and was hoping to get it while I was in Europe. Lindys were nowhere to be seen in Paris but I was offered two Toolboxes in chocolate (close to black) and blue, my heart was set on Lindy so I rejected the offer politely. For those of you who are interested in Birkins or Kellys, I saw a few Birkins and Kellys on the floor when I was in FSH, it seemed to me that they had just received a huge shipment. As I was quite determined to get my Lindy, I went into Rome Hermes a few times, I was informed by a very nice SA that they receive shipment every day at 11am and I should come back between 1-2pm. I went back the next two days to the same SA but she gave me the same response, I was a bit frustrated so on my final visit I approached the Asian SA, she thought for two seconds and said they have received a black Lindy today, she went in and came back with a beautiful orange wrapped box, at first I wasn't so sure about the colour, I played with it for a few minutes and decided I would bring it home with me, I thought it would be fun to get a pair of Twillys and play mix and match with it :) She was extremely patient, never rushed me or anything, she did smile and say that I should really get it because Lindy is becoming harder and harder to obtain.

I had to make a phone call so I stepped out of the store, when we came back my SA was nowhere to be seen but I knew my bag (already packed) was behind the cashier, there was a queue so my friend and I lined up, when it was our turn, the cashier lady skipped us and went straight to the guy behind us! We were a bit confused at first, but she did the same thing again, ignored us and served the guy behind us. At this point my friend and I got really pissed off and we both said "excuse me, we're next in line", then she responded "mam I don't know what you want!", my friend said "she wants to pay for her bag", then she pointed at the big orange bag behind her, then my friend added, "it is your job to ask if you're unsure!", the cashier lady looked annoyed and got another girl to serve us, I think she must be a store manager or something as she had a different uniform on, she was a bit older than most of the staff and she was wearing glasses.

I am an Asian girl and my friend is a blonde caucasian, we are both in our late 20s (although we did look and dress young - but hey, we were traveling!).

Oh, I should also add that I saw a very small Kelly when I was there, but didn't see any Birkins.

Interesting story
Thank u for sharing
Your effort make u scored a lindy
Congrats

Firstly, congratulations on the purchase of your Kelly bag! You must be quite elated with it!:D

Secondly, it's quite disappointing that there are still some European Hermes SAs that are quite (dare I say it?!?) racist towards Asians. This just makes me wonder if I'd have any success at all if I were to go to Italy or even Paris to try to score some sort of bags. However, can I just ask, were the Asians behaving rudely/abrupt to the SA in Venice?

I've been a passive member of this forum, but keep reading all the post especially about Hermes. Yes,in my opinion and based on my observation, the marketing strategy for Hermes is quite racist, the SA trained to randomly choose customers based on their feeling and the origin of the customer. They limit customer from Asian countries especially from mainland China and Indonesia, because of the high demand from both countries. Recently, I went to Paris and got uncomfortable situation there, the SA Lady showed the Birkin to non-asian couple and told them the price and when they didn't buy it, then I ask the SA was it available, and she said not for sale and hurriedly put the bag into the drawer below her. There is more story

So sad u were treated this way
Hope it didn't ruined your holidays
It's all bout luck

I am in Rome now and the SAs here lie as well. The SA at the Via Conditti said they get shipments daily but not Birkins or Kellys. He was unhelpful and didn't even ask what I was looking for. I left and went to the Campo Marzio store where the SA in Venice advised that I ask for a specific SA which I did. He told me that they only got shipments every month!?! I asked how is that possible if the other store gets shipments daily. He retracted and said for Birkins and Kellys they have waitlists and unless someone rejects it, then it's not available. Well, why couldn't he say that in the first place!?! why did he have to lie?? Nonetheless he did not sound promising. I later went back after sightseeing to the Via Condotti store and spoke with another SA and she also said monthly shipments. When I told her that a colleague of hers earlier said there were daily shipments, then she said I could "check back" to see while I was in town for the next couple of days--still not promising. The two stores are small in comparison to Paris shops. I have not been to a store in the US yet, as I am new to Hermes, but this kind of treatment is pretty ridiculous. At least be upfront and honest! I am also Asian so I don't know if I am profiled. I definitely did not feel that way at the Paris stores. Maybe I can still get lucky in the next 2 days. Will post.

Hi....just wanna share similar experience in H stores......definitely they don't wanna sell B/K to Asian. I went to 5 H stores in different cities and the answers are the same. No...we don't have any. B/K is reserved for locals only and we have very limited stocks.....
Eventhough i saw Birkin 35 etoupe was offered to a lady when we enter the store.

i didn't give up though.....because i know they have the bag. So i started to look for kelly double tour and keep chatting with the SA while my husband complaining to other SA. 15 minutes after, one SA started to talk to the other SA in French (which we don't understand) then went to the storage and bring the big orange box for us. Birkin 35 togo...eventhough it's not the color that i want but at least....i finally got one.

So be patient and good luck :-)

Which store was this? I am trying to get another wallet and going back for a belt. No wallets that I want here. No bags yet either. Thanks for your update. When were you at the store?
