Just want to see how many of us here have to put a stop to buying for a small amount of time and Why?

Me...I lost my job last year and have no money to buy a bag with.

Still bought bags with money I don't have with that horrid piece of plastic called a Visa Card over the end of last year. Struggling to pay it off.

* Sigh*

I just want to know I'm not alone!

I’m in the process of buying my own flat (apartment), and whilst technically I have the money to buy the bag next on my list - the petite peekaboo from Fendi - in my soul I couldn’t do it until everything is settled in the flat. I keep thinking of what if something goes wrong then I’ll be left with a nice bag but not much else, and I wouldn’t want to connect the bag to a bad moment in time.

Firstly, I am so sorry you lost your job. I hope you will find another very soon.

You are not alone!

I wouldn't say ban. I would say break. I have too many bags. If any, I usually buy 1 bag per year. I bought 3 in '22, so the 'ban' on bags will be presumably be until '25.

I think too much emphasis is on buying bags (and things). The emphasis on possessions should be enjoying them.

I'm not really on a ban. It's just that probably I have all the bags I need.

My lifestyle changed because I switched to remote work, and I'm an introvert so I rarely get out of the house, therefore not much use of bags.

Hope you find a new job soon! My last unemployment went on for 13 months (happened a few years ago). What got me out of the funk was meditation. With meditation my brain got quiet that it stopped thinking negative thoughts and worries like "I don't have a job... when am I gonna get a job... etc". And when my brain got quiet I got more creative (and less desperate during interviews), which made me find a job immediately. Try it! :biggrin:

I’m not on a total ban, but I definitely should be more mindful with all my purchases. I’m also buying an apartment and first and most, I have so many bags that I don’t have the time to use them all, which is just ridiculous. I’ll have to enjoy my existing ones more and buy less. :smile: (My goal is to buy maybe two bags this year and sell five.)

I'm not buing because there's nothing I need or want (anything that's on the market anyways) and I'm cutting my bag collection's budget this year. I had a few gaps but I filled them last year.

Ps. If a Taupe Coach Tabby chain clutch comes along for a price I want to pay for it, I might actually make a purchase. Maybe.

How-how-what? How did you come to this conclusion? Do you only carry one bag or is it more like you often skip wearing a bag altogether..? I'm so nosy, I'm sorry!
:biggrin:. I have realised that my lifestyle, ie very casual, chucking bag into footwell of car, constant rain here, will not withstand anything fancy, so I LOVE my Coach navy crossbody. Looking good after 5 years of general abuse. (I do have lots of other bags, and I really appreciate them, but they never come out except on special occasions.)

Count me in, Narnanz! :beach:

Not only won’t I be buying any bags, I’m in the process of drastically reducing (what I consider) the mind boggling number of bags I currently own. :stars:
