The thing that bothers me more than the lack of a clochette about the 3rd gens is the lack of the leather strip under the feet. That strip gives the feet more height to protect the bottom of the bag. And it gives some stiffness to hold shape in the soft pebbled leather.

The chalk is clean just a little slouchy.
I like the extra leather on the bottom as well, and I do think the third generation leather is slightly thinner overall.

I love this bag. I have wanted a black rogue for so long but haven't been wowed by them. The blue lining is gorgeous and the midnight whipstitch and shoulder straps are just enough color without being colorblock. I am sad that it doesn't have the leather strip under the feet and no clochette. The snakeskin is a grey color and not too loud. The hangtag is navy.

Thanks to @Teagaggle for alerting me to the Saks discount! I know I could have waited for it to be cheaper and normally would have but this is the perfect black rogue for me and I can enjoy it now. Plus it's in perfect shape and not a return.

I’m glad to have tracked down 2nd Gen Black and Oxblood; I don’t mind the 3rd Gen 25 because I’m less worried about the missing leather tabs on the bottom (that help keep the base stiffer) in the smaller size.
