Rock Crystal Alhambra- info and pics, please!
I'm really curious about all of the rock crystal Alhambra I'm seeing pop up here. If you have a piece of rock crystal Alhambra, could you please post a photo? I'd also love to know where and when you got it. Did you get it from your SA or did you get it from a trusted re-seller? Thank you!!forum.purseblog.com
I asked my SA about rock crystal and was told to purchase preloved online. I was kind of bummed to hear that response. I don’t think my spend is of an average VCA client but I don’t know would love some opinions.
I think we all like different stones (colorful, neutral, striated, porcelain…) or different styles (Alhambra/frivole/butterflies/perlee…) because something about them appeals to us. There would be people who feel strongly on both sides for each of these categories. I am probably the greatest lover of rock crystal on this forum, and in my case I like things that are unusual and unique. I also like the fact that it is a stone that was used in the early days of VCA Alhambra, so there is a historical connection. To me, the look of rock crystal is not like plastic, but instead is very similar to portrait cut diamonds. I will show you a photo of them side-by-side, the diamond is the smaller one.Sorry, this is going to sound like such a dumb question, but can someone explain to me why Rock Crystal is so sought after (besides the rarity)? In pictures, it just looks like see-through plastic to me. I don't get the hype
(I don't mean to offend anyone who has one, it just doesn't look that pretty to me in pics and vids that I've seen, so I wanted to get some feedback from those who have or are looking to own one).
Nicole - shhhh do not try to increase demand of RC. Let it be known it looks cheap like plastic. Hello,
I just came back from 1 of the Van Cleef Stores in Paris and the SA mentioned that Rock Crystal version is not even on her access to order... So sad, I was hoping my 1st Van Cleef item is rock crystal.
Enjoy your rock crystal beauties (for those who got it).
Just wanted to share what the SA told me in the Paris store.
Have a nice weekend.
