Full disclosure that I haven't watched the full service yet but the outfits in this one really threw me for a loop.

I loved Zara's outfit -the pink and purple and lilac shoes and bag were inspired. Beatrice looked gorgeous, as did Lady Frederick Windsor. I liked Eugenie's orange, but not with the black accessories. I thought Anne looked terrific. Camila looked good too.

Sophie looked like she was attending a different event to everyone else....was her dress all over sequins or did that come across wrong in the photos? Meghan......her hat was divine but the coat was all wrong for her -she looked dumpy. This isn't about being tall and slender - Camilla isn't and she dresses well, as does Eugenie. I would have liked something with more movement to go with the light hat. And Kate.....obviously just me out on a limb here but I felt like she didnt bring her A-game today and this was too important to miss. For me, Emilia Wickstead misses on the tailoring and the sleeves were too long. The colour seemed like a weird mix of buff and yellow, not proper sunshine yellow? And the hat was divine when she turned her head and you got a look at the upturned brim but honestly.....today we needed soemthing that looked good on all sides......the coral garden party outfit would have been better today I think.

I think it's clearer than ever that relations are still pretty frosty. Harry and Meghan weren't seated anywhere near William and Kate, and there wasn't any chance of an interaction....which tells it's own story. Usually we'd have a picture of everyone on the steps but we didnt get that today because there was no lingering....again I think because the Palace didnt want to risk it being stirred up again. Also, Harry and Meghan didn't go to guildhall lunch today with the rest of the family.

All things considered, imo, all the working Royal ladies looked great. MM, not so much. Lady Louise, Lady Sarah, Sophie - they looked very put-together. Applause to Sophie for taking a bit of a risk. Sophie is wearing a Vampire’s Wife dress. Kate has worn the label several times, so has Bea.

I watched everyone arrive for the Thanksgiving Service, live on TV this morning. There is so much I could say about the Harkles but I refuse to make any of this about them.
Everyone else looked amazing and as cohesive as a family.
Here's some pics of our celebration afternoon tea at Kensington Palace. We've been here often and have brought many friends and family in the past. It's served in a temporary but rather posh tentage at the moment. Can't wait for them to complete refurbishment so the Pavilion is back to it's former glory. Love this! Thank you. Loved reading about the History of Afternoon Tea. Looks like we all owe the 18th Century Duchess of Bedford a great deal of thanks for her invention and that "sinking feeling" she had around 4 PM. Tea and cakes to the rescue.

Lady Louise looked great thrilled to see her in something age appropriate.

I give Sophie props for a new label - but I still think the dress doesn't make sense for a daytime event.

Mike's insta has been on point.

On further thing to add...is there a resurgence of gloves? Camilla always wears them, Kate only when it's cold, but she carried a pair today-I didn't see her with them on, and Meghan had a pair on.....I think it adds so much polish to an outfit.

I agree with your take on MM looking dumpy today. The waist on the dress was too high and in the solid color made her look short with too much fabric below the belt, which also made her bottom heavy. And what the heck was going on with the back of the dress?!?! I would have chopped off the flap part, or at minimum tacked down so it wouldn’t fly around like that.

And the hat - at first glance I thought that she looked like a cross between a mushroom and the Flying Nun!

TBH I don’t like the high/low hem or the glitter-look. Can’t remember who, but someone well known recently wore that style. Lady Louise would look good in it, possibly. The open back for church seemed a ‘different’ choice.

Gloves? Yes, please, bring them back.
ETA: Anne wore gloves

That looks so amazing!❤️

That looks so amazing!❤
In comparison to some other places in London, this is a relatively simple tea which I can manage. DS shared it with me as we already had lunch. High Tea is a totally different thing, tons and tons of food. I do like the atmosphere for tea at Kensington Palace and happily, next March the Orangery will be fully restored and reopened.

Yes! I was so bewildered by the flap as well! Like...what sort of a feature is that? It looked sloppy.

You're spot on with the high waist and the long skirt - wrong choice for her.

I'm totally going the next time I'm in London, which I hope to be in the fall of '23, so it'll be open!
